Quick Start
MX560 with mdexSIM
This Quick Start describes the easy setup of the MX560 for remote access to a connected
terminal device when using an mdexSIM.
MX560 Presets
The mobile settings of MX560 are preset for using an mdexSIM Vodafone.
The MX560 DHCP server assigns the IP address 192.168.0.100 to the terminal device.
The Router establishes a mobile connection with the installed SIM card to mdex.
For remote access to the terminal device, all data packets are forwarded to 192.168.0.100.
If the MX560 is bundled with any other mdexSIM, the mobile settings of each inserted
mdexSIM are preset in the Router on delivery. Details of the preinstalled mdexSIM
can be found on the additional label of the Router.
If the MX560 was delivered without mdexSIM, please note Step 1 (Page 2).

Connect the terminal device
The terminal device must be connected to the LAN port of the MX560.
The WAN port is not provided by default for connecting terminal devices!
The terminal device can be set to ‘Obtain an IP address automatically’, in which case the
MX560 DHCP server automatically assigns the IP address 192.168.0.100.
Alternatively, the network settings can also be fixed in the terminal device:
IP address: 192.168.0.100
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 (LAN IP address of the MX560)
DNS server: 192.168.0.1 (LAN IP address of the MX560)
All incoming data packets to the MX560 are forwarded to the connected terminal device
192.168.0.100.
Quick Start is completed
The MX560 Router and the connected terminal device are now accessible over the mobile
network with the respective mdex IP-service.
mdex fixed.IP+:Remote access via web.direct or Control Station Device (optional).
mdex public.IP: Remote access via the public IP address.
The DHCP server of the MX560 is preconfigured to assign only one IP address
(192.168.0.100).
If you have connected a PC for Router configuration, the IP address 192.168.0.100 was
assigned to this PC. After the PC has been removed, this IP address will only be assigned
to another connected terminal after 5 minutes (DHCP Leasetime). A restart of the Router
immediately releases the IP address for assignment to another connected terminal device.
More information about the setup of the MX560 can be found in the MX560 Setup
Guide or at mdex support page: https://wiki.mdex.de.
Step 6
A detailed description of connecting multiple terminal devices can be found at MX560
Setup Guide →Chapter "Connection of terminal devices".
