START AT SUPERLATIVE.
The S 350 BlueTEC. Refreshing in many ways, the
advanced clean diesel V- 61 sprints to 60 mph in just
7.0 seconds2 yet returns up to 31 highway mpg3 and
certified low emissions. Standard 4matic™ all- wheel
drive4 distributes up to 455 lb- ft of torque to its 18"
wheels5 via a refined 7- speed automatic transmission.
The S 400 HYBRID. A silky gasoline V- 6 teams up
with a near- silent electric motor, a first-of-its -kind
lithium- ion battery and a smooth 7- speed automatic.
With up to 25 highway mpg3 and 0–60 in 7.2 seconds,2
its super- low emissions come with yet another bonus:
no price penalty over its gasoline - only equivalent.6
The S 550. With a 429-hp Direct Injection twin-turbo
V-8 and your choice of rear-wheel drive or 4matic
all-wheel drive, the S 550 accomplishes every aspect
of performance with confidence. Generating more
power and torque from less fuel, it can reach 60 mph
in as little as 4.9 seconds.2 Standard 18" alloy wheels,5
as well as 19" and 20" options, add to its enthusiasm.
The S 600. Seamless, and seemingly endless, thrust
is the calling card of this flagship among flagships. Its
510-hp twin-turbo V-12 sends a staggering 612 lb - ft
of peak torque to its rear wheels through a robust,
paddle -shifted 5- speed automatic. Advanced Active
Body Control (ABC) conducts every move of its 19" or
optional 20" wheels5 with near -supernatural grace.
The S 63 AMG. Raw, race -bred power proves a most
compatible partner for rich refinement in this 536-hp
super sedan. Its handcrafted biturbo V- 8, 20" wheels5
and AMG-calibrated ABC are evidence of unyielding
attention to every detail. While it can rush to 60 mph
in 4.4 seconds,2 it’ll cruise all day in relaxed comfort.
The S 65 AMG. Even superlatives struggle to describe
the most powerful, lavish and advanced sedan ever to
emerge from the thoroughbred stables of AMG. With a
handcrafted 621-hp biturbo V-12 and 20" forged- alloy
wheels,5 it races to 60 in 4.2 seconds2 while outpacing
virtually every measure of what an automobile can be.

Its dual high-definition widescreens are underscored by a flowing sweep of hand-polished wood — set further aglow
by fiber-optic lighting whose hue you can adjust — and crowned by a classic analog timepiece. In every detail, the
S-Class presents comforts you never imagined with craftsmanship we’ve never forgotten. It’s an S-Class tradition
to predict not just what other automobiles might someday become — but what we’ll treasure most from today.
Furnished. The front seats are both heated and Active Ventilated for
year-round comfort. Each of them power- adjusts not only for reach,
recline, height and tilt, but for cushion depth and the height of its
head restraint. They also include active multicontour features that
let you precisely tune your lumbar, shoulder and thigh support, and
enjoy a soothing or even vigorous massage. Adjustment is simplified
by illustrated controls that are presented on the in- dash color screen.
Finished. Eucalyptus, Burl Walnut or Brown Poplar wood — depending
on model — is polished by hand and finely edged in chrome. Brushed
metallic controls reward your fingertips. Richly grained leather — or
optional extra- supple Premium leather with contrasting stitching — is
exactingly tailored and hand-fitted. S 63 AMG, S 600 and S 65 AMG
Sedans each feature distinctive details of their own, with the V-12
cabins lavished in even more sumptuous Exclusive leather treatment.
Fascinating. Intriguing details stimulate the senses of all who ride
within its spacious 5- passenger cabin. The classic analog clock is an
elegant homage to the 1950s 300 S. Fiber-optic LED ambient lighting
encircles the cabin with a gentle glow in your choice of three colors,
from warm Solar to cool Polar. Climate control air outlets are placed
throughout the cabin, even ahead of the rear doors, to help deliver
their comfort more evenly and rapidly, yet without unpleasant drafts.
Fundamental. How the S- Class manages the outside world greatly
contributes to its interior ambience. Advanced aerodynamics help to
improve sound quality, ride stability, and even your outward vision in
the rain. Laminated, infrared- reflecting window glass, as well as the
sunroof or available Panorama roof, help to keep noise and the sun’s
rays from intruding. Each of its four wide doors is held open to any
position by a gas strut, and gently snugged tight by pneumatic assist.

Every S -Class also puts it best foot forward in other ways, too. An adaptive, self- leveling air suspension or an uncanny fully active
suspension each balance crisp control with velvety comfort. And available 4matic™ all- wheel drive takes on wet, snowy streets and
sharp, dry corners with equal enthusiasm. Remarkably, each of these advances is rooted in performance breakthroughs that were
first introduced by Mercedes-Benz over the years. But history isn’t made by looking back. It happens when you leap ahead.
Motivated. Six engine choices offer an impressive blend
of swift response, surprising efficiency and low emissions.
The 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-61 of the S 350 BlueTEC emits
fewer greenhouse gases than most gasoline engines. Two
advanced Direct Injection V- 8s in the S 550 and S 63 AMG
feature twin turbochargers spinning up to 185,000 rpm,
and rapid -multispark ignition that can fire four times in a
millisecond. All three of these engines generate more than
450 lb-ft of torque at well under 2,000 rpm, and deliver it
with the smooth, efficient response of a 7-speed automatic
transmission. The remaining S-Class powerplant choices
are no less compelling: In the innovative S 400 HYBRID, an
effiicient gasoline V-6 teams up with a torque-rich electric
motor and lithium-ion battery via a clever ECO-Stop/Start
system. And a duo of sublimely smooth twin-turbocharged
V-12s propel the majestic S 600 and S 65 AMG Sedans.
Confident. Standard on the S 350 BlueTEC and optional on
the S 550, 4matic all- wheel drive integrates our 4 - wheel
Electronic Traction System.4 4 - ETS continually redistributes
the engine’s torque toward the wheels — or single wheel — that
has the best grip. With light weight and a 45:55 front/rear
torque split, 4matic enhances handling on dry roads, too.
Composed. The S -Class driver can enjoy spirited handling
while all aboard savor its serene ride. Air- cushioned, semi -
active AIRMATIC suspension employs our Adaptive Damping
System (ADS) to expertly balance ride and handling as road
conditions change. It teams up with our Direct-steer system
to ease parking effort while sharpening high -speed stability.
Active Body Control (ABC) is standard on the S 600 and AMG
models, and an S 550 option.7 Arguably the most advanced
fully active suspension in production, ABC instantly generates
counterforces of its own to optimize comfort and control, and
to provide uncannily flat cornering. Both ABC and AIRMATIC
feature driver-selectable Sport and Comfort modes, 4 - wheel
self- leveling, and automatic lowering of the car at higher
speeds, to enhance both stability and efficiency.
Poised. Large yet lightweight 18" alloy wheels are standard
on most models, while the S 600 rides on staggered-width
19" wheels. Race -bred 20" AMG alloys outfit the two AMG
sedans. A selection of optional 19" wheels with versatile all -
season tires and 20" wheels with high-performance tires is
also offered. Included among them are the legendary style
and quality of AMG wheels, presented in either of two Sport
Packages for the S 350 BlueTEC, S 400 HYBRID and S 550.5

INVEST IN THE FUTURE, BY CHANGING IT.
REVEAL
Brilliant lighting. Generating light that’s perceived
more like natural daylight, the Bi-Xenon headlamps
also feature Active Curve Illumination and Adaptive
Highbeam Assist. These two advanced systems vary
the beam pattern of the headlamps continuously, to
maximize illumination into curves and straightaways
without causing glare for other drivers. Headlamp
washers help keep the lamps cleaner in poor weather,
while corner- illuminating front lamps help brighten
your path into sharp turns and driveways. Bright white
LED Daytime Running Lamps and LED taillamps help
make your presence more apparent to other drivers.
ATTENTION ASSIST. By continually monitoring a
variety of driving behaviors, all models except the
S 400 HYBRID can audibly and visually alert the driver
if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. More
than 70 variables are measured in the first minutes
of each drive, to establish a pattern and determine
the system’s warning thresholds accordingly.9
Night View Assist PLUS with Pedestrian Detection.
As you drive in darkness, this remarkable option10
can project infrared beams that are invisible to the
human eye, and read them with a special camera.
The system displays a clearer, supplemental real-time
view of the road ahead on an 8" in-dash screen that’s
directly in front of the driver. It can also help identify
and point out pedestrians along a dark roadway.

Rear view camera. When backing up, this standard
safety feature shows a live view of the area behind
your S-Class on the large central in-dash screen.

PREPARE
PRE-SAFE. Another Mercedes-Benz first, PRE-SAFE
can help detect instability during certain vehicle
maneuvers which suggest that a collision or rollover
is imminent. PRE-SAFE can then tighten the front
seat belts, adjust the front passenger seat, and close
the windows and sunroof — all in an effort to better
prepare the occupants and restraint systems in the
precious moments leading up to a collision.

Accident avoidance. Two safety systems pioneered
by Mercedes-Benz help you avoid potential collisions.
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) monitors the
vehicle’s response to driving inputs such as steering
and braking, and responds to help keep the vehicle
on course during extreme maneuvers.4 Brake Assist
can maximize the braking pressure if it detects an
emergency braking situation — based on how quickly
the driver steps on the brake pedal — potentially
shortening your overall stopping distance.

Adaptive braking. The powerful 4 - wheel ventilated
disc brakes of the S-Class incorporate technology
to help make driving more reassuring and relaxing
in a variety of situations. If the driver lifts off the
accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming sets the
pads closer to the discs — for quicker response when
the driver steps on the brakes. In the rain, Automatic
Brake Drying periodically applies the brakes just
enough to sweep away water buildup on the discs.
During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist helps prevent
unwanted rollback. And a HOLD feature can help
make driving in stop-and -go traffic less stressful.

REACT
DISTRONIC PLUS. A Mercedes-Benz innovation that
takes cruise control to a new level of convenience,
this option10 adapts your set speed in response to
the flow of traffic ahead — automatically slowing until
your path is clear again. If the vehicle ahead slows to
a stop, DISTRONIC PLUS can also brake to a full halt,
then resume automatically when traffic starts going.

PRE-SAFE Brake. Even if you’re not using the cruise
control, the radar-based DISTRONIC PLUS can help
detect an impending collision with a vehicle ahead.
Its integrated PRE-SAFE Brake system can alert the
driver and automatically apply up to 100% braking
force, to help reduce the severity of an impact.

Eight air bags. Three decades ago, the S-Class was
the first series-production car with a standard driver’s
front air bag. Today, a system of eight air bags offers
10-way protection.
16 Every S -Class model is equipped
with dual- stage front air bags, front and rear side-
impact air bags, and side curtain air bags for all four
outboard seats. And in a rear impact, NECK-PRO
active front head restraints help to reduce whiplash.
Active Blind Spot and Lane Keeping Assists. A
pair of advanced optional systems10 can alert you to
some unseen vehicles in the adjacent lane,
17 and can
warn you of unintended drifting across visible lane
markings.9 On all models except the S 400 HYBRID,
both systems also incorporate advanced active
technology that can help guide the car back into its
own lane, should the driver disregard the alerts.

A wood/leather steering wheel is standard (or a no-charge
option on the AMG models), while an optional heated steering
wheel8 offers rapid warmth to your hands on chilly mornings.

All around you. A 15- speaker harman/kardon LOGIC7®
system outputs 600 watts of Dolby® Digital 5.1 surround
sound. Your listening choices are seemingly limitless: Tune
into to digital-quality HD Radio™ stations, or SiriusXM Radio
with 6 months’ service.21 Enjoy the 6-DVD/CD changer and
memory card reader in the dash. Plug into the USB port and
iPod® integration.

Above and beyond. With 15 high-performance speakers and
four acoustic lenses, the optional Bang & Olufsen BeoSound™
system10 is engineered to satisfy the most ardent audiophile.
It delivers 1,200 total watts of true 7.1-channel surround
sound from two amplifiers — a compact 750-watt ICEpower
unit and a 450-watt digital processor. Reproduction quality
is exceptional at every seating position, yet very little sound
is audible from outside the car. Even when it’s not in use,
the system elevates the cabin’s aesthetic with its signature
aluminum speaker grilles and four illuminated tweeter units.
Also available is a state-of-the-art Rear Seat Entertainment

Palatial. Each front seat is power-adjustable no
fewer than a dozen ways, all stored in 3-position
memory stations. They’re both heated and Active
Ventilated, for added dimensions of comfort in
any climate. Standard active multicontour front
seats allow precise tuning of the lumbar, shoulder
and thigh supports. They can also automatically
increase lateral support in cornering maneuvers,
offer an invigorating massage, and feature deeply
cushioned multi-adjustable head restraints. The
available Rear Seat Package10 adds heated and
Active Ventilated rear seats with 8-way power
adjustment, along with 4-zone climate control.
Pictorial. The optional Panorama roof10 delivers
a grand view of the sun and stars to every seat.
The front section tilts up or slides open. When
closed, a power sliding screen shades the cabin.
Preferential. The COMAND system offers simple,
illustrated control of numerous comfort features.
In addition to personalizing countless vehicle
settings, you can vary the location and intensity
of the front-seat massage. You can also select
any of three color profiles and five brightness
levels for the ambient cabin lighting. It even lets
you vary the climate control’s airflow diffusion.
Paradisal. Amid the abundance of finely stitched
upholstery and hand-polished wood you’ll find a
treasure trove of thoughtful conveniences: A total
of four illuminated vanity mirrors. Multiple power
outlets, including a household-type 115V plug in
the rear of the console. A control on the driver’s
door to adjust the power front passenger seat.
And covered, lined storage compartments in the
center console, rear armrest and each front door.
As gratifying as it is to drive an S - Class, being a passenger presents exclusive
benefits of its own. The generously proportioned cabin welcomes people of any
stature and immerses them in supple, hand-fitted leather. The climate control
acknowledges the fastening of seat belts, so it can focus first on the occupied
seats. Along your drive, it automatically filters dust, pollen and odors from the
cabin air, and compensates for the angle of the sun. Laminated side windows

world. A fine -mesh power rear-window sunshade can be raised by the driver
or via controls in each rear door. As dusk falls, fiber-optic LED ambient lighting

The S 63 AMG. A handcrafted 536 -hp 5.5-liter biturbo V-8 delivers
60 mph in 4.4 seconds.2 An optional AMG Performance Package ups
the ante to 563 hp and 4.3 seconds. Its 7- speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT
MCT transmission offers shifts as quick as 100 milliseconds, or let the

It can call for help, even if you can’t. In the event that an air bag or
Emergency Tensioning Device is activated, mbrace initiates a call to
the Mercedes-Benz Emergency Response Center to notify them of
the incident, and provide information on your vehicle and its location.
A Customer Specialist will then attempt to make voice contact
with you. If you request help, or do not respond, they will notify local
emergency response services, and stay on the line until help arrives.
Across town, or cross-country. Whether you’re going out for dinner,
picking up a friend or planning a trip, mbrace offers a variety of ways
to make getting there easier. You can look up an address or a Point of
Interest online — or just grab it from your smartphone contacts — and
send it directly to your vehicle’s navigation system. Or with a simple
text message to a friend, they can let their mobile phone send its
location directly to your car. Then, just a push of the i-Button in
your vehicle will download the address, so you can either start route
guidance immediately or save it in your navigation system’s memory.
The extra mile, around the clock. The mbrace PLUS Package gives
you unlimited access to Mercedes-Benz Concierge services — our
network of experienced, professional personal assistants. They can
fulfill virtually any request, at any time of day or night, right from the
comfort of your vehicle, or from the Mobile App on your smartphone.

iPad docking station. Enjoy using your iPad® while on the road without
having to hold it. Each tilting, rotatable docking station secures an iPad
behind the front head restraint, and offers USB charging as well as a
high-speed connection in combination with the accessory In -Vehicle
Hotspot. Up to two stations (sold individually) can be installed. (iPad not
included. Cannot be combined with Rear Seat Entertainment system.)
Mercedes -Benz In -Vehicle Hotspot. Now you can check your email
and browse the web from the convenience of your Mercedes-Benz.
With the In-Vehicle Hotspot, passengers can enjoy Internet connectivity
on the road, while the driver can do so when safely parked. The Hotspot
can simultaneously connect up to four wireless devices such as laptops,
tablets or other mobile devices. The fast router is securely installed and
not visible from outside the vehicle, while an encrypted password helps
to limit access to your wireless connection. (An initial activation fee and
monthly service subscription may be required. Please see your dealer.)
Illuminated door sills. Elegant, eye-catching brushed stainless-steel
door sills are available in a set of two for the front doors, and feature
trim that’s color- keyed to your car’s interior. The sills welcome you with
a soft blue luminescent Mercedes-Benz logo when you open the door.
20" two-tone wheels. With a high- contrast black/polished finish, these
boldly styled alloy wheels also take an aggressive stance on handling.5
