vielen Dank, dass Sie sich für den Metz Subwoofer SW80
entschieden haben.
Vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme sollten Sie die Bedienungsanleitung
lesen.

1 Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Der SW80 ist ausschließlich für die Ausgabe von Tonsignalen
bestimmt.
Der SW80 ist für trockene Räume (Wohn- u. Büroräume) konzipiert.
Das Raumklima sollte sich im Bereich von +5°C bis +35°C bei
max. 75 % Luftfeuchte bewegen.
Der SW80 darf in Räumen mit höherer Luftfeuchtigkeit (z.B. Bad,
Sauna etc.) nicht betrieben werden.
Sollten Sie den SW80 ausnahmsweise im Freien betreiben, so
sorgen Sie bitte dafür, dass es vor Feuchtigkeit (Regen, Wasser-
spritzer, Betauung) geschützt ist.

2 Sicherheitshinweise
Stellen Sie den SW80 auf eine feste, ebene und stabile Unter-
lage!
Ihr SW80 ist für den Betrieb in trockenen Räumen bestimmt.
Sollten Sie ausnahmsweise das Gerät im Freien betreiben, so
sorgen Sie bitte dafür, dass es vor Feuchtigkeit (Regen, Wasser-
spritzer, Betauung) geschützt ist.
SW80 nicht Tropf- und Spritzwasser (z.B. Regen) aussetzen!
Vor dem Reinigen des Gerätes den Netzstecker ziehen!
Der SW80 darf nur mit einer Netzspannung von
230-240V~ 50Hz betrieben werden.
Für Wartungs- und Instandsetzungstätigkeiten ist der Netzstecker
oder die geräteseitige Steckvorrichtung des Netzkabels - im Sinne
der zutreffenden Norm - als Trennvorrichtung vom Netz anzusehen
und benutzbar zu halten.
Netzkabel so verlegen, dass keine Gegenstände darauf stehen
oder Personen darüber stolpern können!
Kerzen und andere offene Flammen müssen zu jeder Zeit von
diesem Produkt ferngehalten werden, um das Ausbreiten von
Feuer zu vermeiden.
Öffnen des Gerätes und Durchführen von Reparaturen sind dem
Fachpersonal vorbehalten.

Wenden Sie sich bitte bei erforderlicher Reparatur an Ihren
Fachhändler.
Bluetooth®-Geräte arbeiten mit Kurzwellen-Funksignalen.
Diese können, unter Umständen, den Betrieb anderer
elektronischer Geräte sowie medizinischer Geräte stören.

Funkwellen können die Funktion von Herzschrittmachern und
anderen medizinischen Geräten beeinflussen. Halten Sie
mindestens 20cm Abstand!
• Ein kaltes Gerät darf in einem warmen Raum erst in Betrieb
genommen werden, wenn ein eventuell vorhandener Feuchtig-
keitsbeschlag auf der Oberfläche verdunstet ist.
• Sorgen Sie für einen ausreichenden Kühlluftstrom, wenn Sie Ihr
Gerät in einen Einbauschrank stellen.
• Stellen/Hängen Sie Ihr Gerät nicht direkt neben oder über einer
Heizung auf, die Gerätekühlung könnte beeinträchtigt werden.
• Auf oder über das Gerät dürfen keine brennenden Kerzen oder
Gefäße mit Flüssigkeit gestellt werden.
Heißes Wachs und Flüssigkeiten, die ins Geräteinnere gelangen,
zerstören die elektrischen Bauteile Ihres Gerätes.
Die elektrische Sicherheit des Gerätes ist in solchen Fällen nicht
mehr gewährleistet.
• Gewitter sind eine Gefahr für elektrische Geräte. Bei einem Blitz-
schlag in die Netzleitung kann das Gerät beschädigt werden, auch
dann, wenn es ausgeschaltet ist.
Ziehen Sie bei Gewitter Netzstecker aus der Steckdose bzw. aus
dem SW80.
• Die Reinigung des SW80 muss mit einem trockenen, weichen
Reinigungstuch (z.B. Mikrofasertuch) erfolgen.
• Sollten dennoch stärkere Verschmutzungen entstanden sein, kann
die Reinigung der Oberfläche mit einem nur leicht angefeuchteten,
weichen Tuch erfolgen.
3 Anschließen, ein- und ausschalten
Netzanschluss
Den SW80 mit dem beiliegenden Netzkabel an die Steckdose
anschließen.
Den SW80 mit dem Netzschalter ein- ausschalten.
Einschalten
SW80 mit dem Netzschalter einschalten.
Nach dem Einschalten blinkt die LED-Anzeige zunächst blau und
sucht somit nach einem Bluetooth-Partnergerät.
Wenn kein Bluetooth-Partnergerät erkannt wird, schaltet der SW80
automatisch auf eine gesteckte Verbindung um, sofern vorhanden.
Der SW80 schaltet aus dem Stand-by automatisch ein, wenn das
TV-Gerät eingeschaltet wird.
Der SW80 schaltet 5 min nach den ausschalten des TV-Gerätes in
den Stand-by Modus.

3.1 Die LED-Anzeige
blinkt blau: Suche nach einem Bluetooth-Partnergerät
oder einem kabelgebundenen Eingangssignal.
leuchtet blau: mit Bluetooth-Partnergerät verbunden.
leuchtet grün: Partnergerät über 3,5mm Klinkenstecker
verbunden.
leuchtet gelb: Partnergerät über optisches Kabel verbunden.
leuchtet mintgrün: Partnergerät über Cinch-Kabel verbunden.
leuchtet rot: Stand-by, kein Eingangssignal vorhanden,
Signalsuchlauf aktiv.
3.2 Audio-Anschluß
Metz bietet eine Vielzahl von Anschlußmöglichkeiten.
Es darf nur eine der folgenden Möglichkeiten gewählt werden.
Den SW80 am TV-Gerät anschließen mit
• einem Audiokabel 3,5 mm Klinke, AUDIO IN analog
im Lieferumfang enthalten.
• Bluetooth Technologie.
• einem optischen Audiokabel (Toslink/SPDIF), AUDIO IN digital
im Zubehörhandel erhältlich.
• einem Cinch-Audiokabel, AUDIO IN analog
im Zubehörhandel erhältlich.

3.2.1 Anschluß an ein Metz TV-Gerät (Typ TX) über Audiokabel bzw. optisches
Kabel
Im Menü „Ton“ muss der SW80 angemeldet werden werden.
SW80 am TV-Gerät anmelden:
• Taste drücken und die „Funktionsübersicht“ aufrufen.
• Mit der Cursortaste die Kachel „Menü“ anwählen und Taste drücken.
• Mit der Cursortaste die Kachel „Ton“ anwählen und Taste drücken.
• Mit der Cursortaste im Kontextmenü „SW80“ anwählen und Taste drücken.
• Mit der Cursortaste „Modus“ anwählen und Taste drücken.
• Mit der Cursortaste den gewünschten Modus,
bei Audiokabel 3,5mm oder Cinch-Kabel „Analog“ einstellen,
bei optischem Kabel „Digital“ einstellen
und Taste drücken.
• Taste drücken und das Menü verlassen.
3.2.2 Anschluß an ein beliebiges TV-Gerät
Das TV-Gerät sollte für die gewählte Verbindung über einen regelbaren Audioausgang
verfügen.

3.3 Bluetooth® allgemein
Die Bluetooth®-Funktion (nur bei Metz TV-Geräten mit der Typenbezeichnung „TX“, die mit
dieser Funktion ausgestattet sind, siehe Menüpunkt „Bluetooth“) ermöglicht eine kabellose
Audio-Übertragung zwischen
Metz TV-Gerät und einem Bluetooth®-Audio fähigen Gerät.
Bluetooth®Grundeinstellung am Metz TV-Gerät
• Taste drücken und die „Funktionsübersicht“ aufrufen.
• Mit der Cursortaste die Kachel „Menü“ anwählen und Taste drücken.
• Mit der Cursortaste die Kachel „Bluetooth®“ anwählen und Taste drücken.
• Mit der Cursortaste im Kontextmenü „Bluetooth® ein“ anwählen und Taste drücken.
Bluetooth®-Wiedergabe
Wenn ein mobiles Bluetooth®-Gerät außerhalb der Reichweite Ihres TV-Gerätes gelangt, wird
die Verbindung unterbrochen und muss erneut wieder hergestellt werden.

• Taste drücken und das Menü verlassen.
Verbindungen lösen/entkoppeln
• Mit der Cursortaste im Kontextmenü „Konfiguration“ - „Verfügbare Geräte“ anwählen und
Taste drücken.
• Mit der Cursortaste ein Gerät mit dem Status „verbunden“ oder „nicht verbunden“
auswählen und Taste drücken.
• „Verbindung lösen“ ist markiert, Taste drücken, Verbindung ist unterbrochen.

• Taste drücken, mit der Cursortaste „Alle Geräte entkoppeln“ anwählen und Taste
drücken. Eine bestehende Verbindung wird getrennt und die Liste der zuletzt verbun-
denen Geräte wird gelöscht.

3.4 Metz TV-Gerät mit SW80 über Bluetooth verbinden
Im Menü „Ton“ muss der SW80 angemeldet werden werden.
SW80 am TV-Gerät anmelden:

• Mit der Cursortaste die Kachel „Menü“ anwählen und Taste drücken.

• Am SW80 die Taste „Bluetooth“ drücken.

• Unter „Verfügbare Geräte“ den „Metz Subwoofer SW80“ mit
der Cursortaste anwählen und Taste drücken.
Der Subwoofer ist nun mit dem TV-Gerät verbunden.

1 Proper use
The SW80 is designed exclusively for the playback of audio signals.
The SW80 is designed for dry rooms (living rooms and offices).
The room climate should be in a range from +5 °C to +35 °C with a
maximum of 75% air humidity.
The SW80 must not be used in rooms with higher air humidity (e.g.
bathroom, sauna, etc.).
If, as an exception, you operate the SW80 outdoors, please make
sure that it is protected against moisture (rain, water spray, dew).

2 Safety instructions
Set up the SW80 on a firm, level and stable base!
Your SW80 is designed for operation in dry rooms. If, as an
exception, you operate the device outdoors, please make sure it
is protected against moisture (rain, water spray, dew).
Do not expose the SW80 to dripping or spraying water (e.g.
rain).
Unplug the device before cleaning it!
The SW80 may be run only with a power voltage of 230-240 V~
50 Hz.
For maintenance and repair work, the mains plug or the plug
and socket device of the power cable – in terms of the appli-
cable standard – are to be regarded as the means for disconnec-
tion from the mains and kept in working order.
Lay the power cord such that there are no objects resting on it
and so that no one can trip over it.
Candles and other open flames must be kept away from this
product at all times to prevent fire spreading.
The unit may be opened and repaired only by a qualified specia-
list.

Please contact your authorised dealer if any repairs are neces-
sary.
Bluetooth® devices work with shortwave radio signals. These
can interfere with other electronic or medical devices in certain
cases.
Radio waves can interfere with pacemakers and other medical
devices. Maintain a distance of at least 20 cm

• A cold device may only be turned on only in a warm room after any
condensation on the surface has evaporated.
• Make sure there is an adequate cooling air flow if you put your
device into a built-in cabinet.
• Do not set up/suspend your device directly next to or above a
heater; this could impair the cooling of the device.
• No burning candles or vessels with liquid may be placed on or
above the device.
Hot wax and liquids that get into the interior of the device will
destroy the electric components of your device.
In these cases the electrical safety of the device can no longer be
guaranteed.
• Thunder storms are a danger for electrical devices. If lightning hits
the power cable, the device can be damaged, even if it is switched
off.
During thunder storms, disconnect the mains plug from the socket
or from the SW80.
• The SW80 should be cleaned only with a soft, dry cleaning cloth
(e.g. microfiber cloth).
• If significant soiling nevertheless occurs, the surface can be
cleaned with a slightly moist soft cloth.
3 Connecting, switching on and off
Power connection
Connect the SW80 to the wall socket with the accompanying power
cord.
Use the power switch to switch the SW80 on and off.
Switching on
Switch on the SW80 using the power switch.
After it is switched on, the LED will light up blue at first, which
means it is searching for a Bluetooth partner device.
If it does not recognise a Bluetooth partner device, the SW80 swit-
ches to the plugged connection if one exists.
The SW80 automatically switches on from standby mode when the
TV set is switched on.
5 minutes after the TV set is turned off, the SW80 switches to
standby mode.

3.1 The LED display
is blinking blue: It is looking for a Bluetooth partner device or
an input signal connected via the cable.
is shining blue: It is connected with a Bluetooth partner
device.
is shining green: The partner device is connected via the
3.5-mm jack.
is shining yellow: The partner device is connected via an optical
cable.
is shining mint green: The partner device is connected via a cinch
cable.
is shining red: There is no input signal; the signal search run
is active.
3.2 Audio connection
Metz offers a multitude of connection options.
You can choose only one of the following options.
Connect the SW80 to the TV set with
• an audio cable with 3.5 mm jack; AUDIO IN analogue included in
the delivery contents.
• Bluetooth technology.
• an optical audio cable (Toslink/SPDIF); AUDIO IN digital available
in an accessories shop.
• a cinch audio cable; AUDIO IN analogue available in an accesso-
ries shop.

3.2.1 1 Connection to a Metz TV set (type TX) via an audio cable or optical cable
You must register the SW80 in the “Sound” menu.
Registering the SW80 on the TV set:
• Press the button to open the “Function Overview”.
• Select “Menu” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Select “Sound” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Select “SW80” with the cursor key in the shortcut menu and press the button.
• Select “Mode” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Use the cursor key to set the mode you want – set “Analogue” for the 3.5 mm audio cable
or the cinch cable, and set “Digital” for the optical cable – and press the button.
• Press the button to exit the menu.
3.2.2 Connecting any TV set via an audio cable or optical cable
The TV set should have an audio output that can be regulated.

3.3 Bluetooth®general information
The Bluetooth® function (only for Metz TV sets with the type code “TX” that are equipped
with this function – see the menu point “Bluetooth”) enables a wireless audio transfer
between the Metz TV set and a device capable of Bluetooth® audio.
Bluetooth®basic setting on the Metz TV set
• Press the button to open the “Function Overview”.
• Select “Menu” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Select “Bluetooth®” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Select “Bluetooth® on” with the cursor key in the shortcut menu and press the
button.
Bluetooth®playback
If a mobile Bluetooth® device moves outside the range of your TV set, the connection is
interrupted and must be re-established.

Bluetooth®audio playback using the Metz TV set
• Select “Partner device” with the cursor key in the context menu and press the
button.
• Select “Mobile phone/tablet” with the cursor key in the context menu and press the
button.
• Press the button to exit the menu.
Unpairing/disconnecting
• Select “Configuration” - “Available devices” with the cursor key in the shortcut menu and
press the button.
• Select a device with the cursor key that has the status “connected” or “unconnected” and
press the button.
• Once “Unpair” is marked, press the button to disconnect.

button. Existing connections are disconnected, and the list of the previously connected
devices is deleted.

3.4 Connecting the Metz TV set with the SW80 via Bluetooth
You must register the SW80 in the “Sound” menu.
Registering the SW80 on the TV set:
• Press the button to open the “Function Overview”.
• Select “Menu” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Select “Sound” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Use the cursor key to select “Subwoofer” in the shortcut menu and press the button.
• Select “Mode” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Set the desired mode with the cursor key – in this example “Bluetooth” – and press the
button.
• Press the “Bluetooth” button on the SW80.
• Select “Search for device” with the cursor key and press the button.
• Under “Available devices”, select the “Metz Subwoofer SW80” with the cursor key and
press the button.
The subwoofer is now connected to the TV set.
• Press the button and exit the menu.
