Preface
Welcome to the realm of MicroJack. MicroJack DVR digital surveillance system,
composed of one 32-bit PCI Video Capture Card, works as a digital video surveillance
system. It enables you to capture true color images and real-time videos from 4-16
camera inputs simultaneously.
With the latest Motion Detection technology, once any movement is detected in the
monitoring area, MicroJack DIGITAL SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM automatically starts
recording and triggers an alarm. You no longer need to monitor every single moment
of the day; the system automatically alerts you when specified events occur.

LIMITED WARRANTY
MicroJack TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. warrants that this product to be free of defects resulting from
faulty manufacturing or components under the following terms:
WARRANTY LENGTH
Labor is warranted for 15 months from the date of purchase.
Replacement products will be warranted for the remainder of the 15-month warranty period or 30
days, whichever is longer.
WHO IS PROTECTED
This warranty is enforceable only by the first consumer purchaser.
WHAT IS AND IS NOT COVERED
Except as specified below, this warranty covers all defects resulting from faulty manufacturing of
this product. The following are not covered by the warranty.
1. Any product on which the serial number has been defaced, modified, or removed.
2. Damage, deterioration, or malfunction resulting from:
A. Accident, abuse, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature,
commercial or industrial use, unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow
instructions included with the product.
B. Misapplication of service by someone other than the manufacturer’s representative.
C. Any shipment damages. (Claims must be made with carriers.)
D. Any other cause that does not relate to a product defect.
3. Cartons, cases, batteries, cabinets, tapes, or accessories used with the product.
4. MicroJack TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. does not warrant that this product will meet your
requirements; it is your responsibility to determine the suitability of this product for your
purpose.

WHAT WE WILL AND WILL NOT PAY FOR
We will pay labor and material expenses for covered items. However, we will not pay for the
following:
1. Removal or installation charges.
2. Shipping charges.
3. Any incidental charges.
EXCLUSION OF DAMAGES
THE MANUFACTURER’S SOLE OBLIGATION AND LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS
LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AT OUR OPTION.

Chapter 1 Installing Hardware
MicroJack digital surveillance system is a digital surveillance system that supports
Windows 2000/XP. Please follow the steps to install the hardware.
1.1 Hardware Recommendations
Please make sure you follow the minimum system requirement
when putting together a PC for the AV series product.
Before you begin, please verify that your computer hardware specifications can meet
your MicroJack digital surveillance system requirements.
CPU Pentium4 2.8GHz or above recommended
Motherboard Intel 865, 875, 915 Chipset
(VIA/SiS/ALi chipset motherboards temporarily not
supported)
OS MicrosoftWindows 2000 Pro./XP Pro.
Expansion
Slots 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 × 32-bit PCI 2.1 compliant slots

The following instructions are for installing Video Capture Cards into the MicroJack
DVR digital surveillance system.
The DVR system has a powerful surveillance function and a flexible combination when
you install the hardware. This table shows the numbers of audio devices, video
channels, sensor inputs and relay outputs in different hardware combinations.

Before installing the video card, turn off the computer’s power,
unplug the power cable and disconnect all other cables attached
to the back of the computer.
Users can purchase optional I/O Audio Cards if it is necessary.
1.3.1 Install One Video Capture Card and One Audio Card (Optional)
1. Please follow the steps to install the system. Remove the PC case cover.
2. Remove 2 brackets for the PCI slots. Save the screws.
3. Connect the Audio Card and the Video Capture Card with the connection
cable.
4. Insert the Video Capture Card and I/O Audio Card and fix them.

1.3.2 Install 2 Video Capture Cards and 2 Audio Cards
1. Please follow the steps to install the system. Remove the PC case cover.
2. Remove 4 brackets for the PCI slots. Save the screws.
3. Connect the Audio Card and the Video Capture Card with the connection
cable.
4. Connect the 2 Video Capture Cards with a connection cable. Insert all
the cards and fix them.
It is important to fix the cards in sequence to avoid video
transmission trouble.

1.3.3 Install 4 Video Capture Cards
Please follow the steps to install the system.
1. Remove the PC case cover.
2. Remove 4 brackets for the PCI slots. Save the screws.
3. Connect the Video Capture Cards with Connection cables.
4. Connect the 2 Video Capture Cards with a connection cable. Insert all
the cards and fix them.
It is important to fix the cards in sequence to avoid video
transmission trouble.
