HELPFUL HINTS FOR EASY CARE AND MAINTENANCE
OF YOUR WATER PANEL-II
1. Your Water Panel-II is constructed using high quality cell-cast acrylic. When dusting or
cleaning your Water Panel II periodically, it is recommended that for extra luster and
brilliance that you use an acrylic cleaner, which is available at many hardware and grocery
stores. Use a soft diaper like cloth to insure no scratching. Some polishes will remove light
scratches from the unit when polishing.
2. Since the bubble wand has been enclosed in the unit using a special nut and bulk head, the
wand is removable for easy care, periodic cleaning or changing if necessary. Should the
bubble wand in you WP-2 get clogged or stopped working, we suggest that you remove the
wand by:
(a) First, disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet. Then remove the air pump and
light fixture from the bottom base unit. Once you have removed the pump, light,
etc. carefully, take the unit to the sink, where draining the unit is most
recommended. By turning the hex nut counterclockwise, the wand which is
contained inside the chamber will easily slide out. Remove the bubble wand and
then rinse the wand under running water to dislodge any dirt which may have gotten
into the wand to prevent it from operating properly. Never use a needle or sharp
object to open holes in the bubble wand. Only a thin wire or fishing line is
recommended in opening any holes which have become clogged. When reinstalling
your bubble wand make sure you lock the black hex nut firmly around the clear
bubble wand with the black air line tubing firmly attached to the bubble wand with
the check valve in place.
(b) Another way of cleaning the bubble wand without removing the wand from the
Water Panel chamber is to simply remove the airline tubing from the check valve.
This will cause a back siphoning action through the bubble wand therefore
dislodging any dirt which may have been trapped inside of it. We recommend that
you let the unit drain in the sink until it is almost completely empty using the wand
as a drain.
The fluorescent light fixture we have included with you Water Panel II has:
* One Starter FS-U
* One 1/2 Inch Fluorescent Light Bulb F8W CWT5
These parts are readily available at most hardware stores should any of these parts need
replacement in the future.
It is recommended that you periodically fill the unit with water as natural evaporation will occur
over a period of time which will lower the unit's water level. Remove the header carefully, and fill
with water (preferably distilled) to bring it up to the desired level which is up to the top of the
chamber separators in the middle of the Water Panel approximately 1/2 inch from the top. Please
use these separators as your reference fill line as if you go above this level you will cause
condensation of water over the sides of the Water Panel II.
