Warning and Safety Instructions
P ease read the operating instructions be-
fore using this machine for the first time.
They contain important information about
the safety, use and maintenance of the ma-
chine. This wi avoid the risk of accidents
and damage to the machine.
Appropriate use of the machine
This washer extractor is on y intended for
items of aundry which have not been im-
pregnated with dangerous or inf ammab e sub-
stances.
On y machine wash artic es which
possess a care abe stating they are suit-
ab e for machine washing.
On no account must so vents of the kind
used for dry c eaning be used in this ma-
chine. There may be the danger of fire or ex-
p osion.
Never use or store petro or petro eum
based substances or any easi y inf amm-
ab e substances near the machine. Do not
use the machine id as a resting p ace.
Danger of fire or exp osion
Technical and electrical safety
The e ectrica safety of this app iance can
on y be guaranteed when continuity is
comp ete between the app iance and an effec-
tive earthing system which comp ies with oca
and nationa regu ations.
It is most important that this basic safety re-
quirement is regu ar y tested by a qua ified
e ectrician. The manufacturer cannot be he d
responsib e for the consequences of an inade-
quate earthing system.
Do not damage, remove or bypass the
safety features and contro s on the ma-
chine.
Where there is any damage to the ma-
chine or to the cab e insu ation the ma-
chine must not be used unti it has been
repaired.
Any removab e outer pane s must be in
p ace, and a moving or e ectrica parts
shie ded before the machine is operated.
The machine is on y comp ete y iso ated
from the e ectricity supp y either when
switched off at the wa iso ator, or the mains
fuse is withdrawn from the socket.
Repairs to machines operating with e ec-
tricity, gas or steam shou d on y be under-
taken by a suitab y qua ified service engineer
to ensure safety. Unauthorized repairs cou d
be dangerous.
Fau ty components shou d on y be ex-
changed for Mie e origina spare parts.
On y when these parts are fitted can the
safety standards of the machine be guaran-
teed.
The very best materia s are used in the
manufacture of this machine, and every
care is taken in its manufacture. However,
with time, deterioration of parts can occur, es-
pecia y with rubber components such as
hoses. This shou d be borne in mind if opera-
ting the machine without supervision. Check
the in et hoses regu ar y for signs of deteriora-
tion and rep ace in good time, to avoid eaks
and subsequent damage.
Loca regu ations regarding regu ar inspec-
tion and maintenance of this machine
must be observed. (In Germany this machine
is subject to aundry regu ations UVV
(VBG7y), Sections 36 and 37, which stipu ate
that washer extractors with a kinetic energy of
more than 1500 Nm must be checked once a
year by a competent person for their oper-
ationa safety and the resu ts entered in a test
og (book) supp ied with the machine for the
German market, and which must be kept at
the p ace of operation and be avai ab e for in-
spection.)

Warning and Safety instructions
Use of the machine
Never a ow chi dren to p ay in, on or near
the washer extractor, or to operate it them-
se ves. P ease supervise its use by the e -
der y or infirm.
Remember that the door portho e g ass
can become hot during the operation of
the machine. Do not et chi dren touch it.
When washing with high temperatures
steam can be emitted from the venting
s ot behind the machine.
Do not grip between the suspended drum
unit and the sea of the front pane cut-out
during spin.
A ways make sure the drum is stationary
before reaching in to remove washing.
Reaching into a moving drum is extreme y
dangerous.
Water used for washing and rinsing must
not be used as drinking water. It must be
discharged into a proper sewerage system.
The machine shou d on y be operated un-
supervised when there is a f oor drain
(gu y) in the direct vicinity of the machine.
Ch orine or agents containing ch orine are
corrosive, and can under certain condition-
s ead to irreperab e damage to components.
Disinfecting and c eaning agents often
have compounds containing ch orides in
them. If these agents dry on to stain ess stee
surfaces, the residua ch orides wi attack the
stee and can cause rusting.
To protect your machine from rust damage,
we recommend on y using ch oride free disin-
fecting and c eaning agents for washing and
disinfecting programmes and for c eaning
stain ess stee surfaces of the machine itse f.
If you are not sure about a particu ar agent,
contact the manufacturer of that agent for ad-
vice.
If you accidenta y spi an agent containing
ch orides on the machine it shou d be rinsed
off with water and dried using a soft c oth.
Proprietary dyes, dye removers and de-
sca ing agents may on y be used in this
machine if the manufacturer express y states
that they are suitab e for use in a washing ma-
chine. There may be the danger of fire or ex-
p osion.
A ways fo ow the instructions of the
chemica manufacturer when using c ean-
ing agents and specia app ication chemica s.
On y use such chemica s for the purpose and
in the situation specified by the manufacturer
in order to avoid the danger of adverse
chemica reactions and materia damage.
If in doubt check the suitabi ity of the product
for use in this machine with the manufacturer
before using it.
Where a chemica c eaning agent is rec-
ommended on technica app ication
grounds, this does not imp y that the manufac-
turer of the machine takes responsibi ity for
the effect of the chemica on the materia of
the items being c eaned or on the machine.
P ease be aware that changes in formu ation,
storage conditions etc., which may not be pub-
icised by the chemica producer, can have a
negative effect on the c eaning resu t.
On no account use high pressure
c eaners or hose down the machine.
Use of accessories
Accessory parts may on y be fitted when
express y approved by Mie e. If other
parts are used, guarantee, performance and
product iabi ity c aims may be inva idated.
Disposal of old machines or appliances
When disposing of an o d washer extrac-
tor first make it unusab e. Disconnect
from a services, cut off the cab e and the
p ug from the cab e.
Make the door ock inoperative, so that chi d-
ren cannot accidenta y shut themse ves in.
