Step 2. Remove the hitch pin and lock pin from downrod assembly. And remove hanger ball from downrod assembly by
loosening set screw, removing the cross pin and sliding ball off rod. (Fig.7)

Step 3. Loosen the set screws from coupler. Carefully feed fan wires up through the downrod . Thread downrod into the
coupling until the holes are lined up and secure with the lock pin and hitch pin previously removed, tighten set screws.
Slip the coupler cover, canopy cover and canopy onto the downrod. Then, carefully reinstall the hanger ball onto the
downrod, being sure that the cross pin is in the correct position , the set screw is tightened and wires are not twisted.

Note:The universal hand held remote control System is equipped with learning frequency function which has 32
code combinations to prevent potential interference from other remote units.The frequency on your Receiver and
Transmitter units have been preset at the factory.(Fig.12).No frequency change is necessary,should you desire to
install another fan within the same home or area with a seperate frequency code please see the “frequency
interference”troubleshooting section of this instruction manual to learn how to change the frequency.
Note:Fan must be installed from a maximum distance of 40 feet from the transmitting unit for proper signal
transmission between the transmitting unit and the fan’s receiving unit.
Step 1:Insert the receiver unit into the hanger bracket with the flat side of the receiver facing the ceiling.(Fig.13)
Step 2:Motor to Receiver electrical connections: connect the WHITE WIRE from the fan to the WHITE wire from
receiver. Connect the RED wire from the fan to the RED wire from the Receiver. Connector the BLUE wire from the
fan to the BLUE wire from the receiver. Connect the PURPLE wire from the fan to the PURPLE wire from the receiver.
Connect the GREY wire from the fan to the GREY wire from the receiver.(Fig.14)
Step 3:If your outlet box has a GROUND wire (Green or Bare Copper)connect this wire to the Hanger Ball and Hanger
Bracket and Receiver Ground wires.If your outlet box does not have a Ground Wire ,then connect the Hanger Ball
and Hanger Bracket and Receiver Ground Wires together.Secure wire connection with the plastic wire nut provided.

Step 4: Receiver to House Supply Wires Electrical connections: Connect the WHITE wire from the outlet box to the
WHITE wire from the receiver. Connect the BLACK wire from the outlet box to the BLACK wire from the receiver.
Secure all wire connections with the plastic wire nuts provided. (Fig.14)
After all splices are made,check to make sure there are no loose strands.As an additional precaution we suggest
to secure the plastic wire connectors to the wires with electrical tape.

Step 1. Remove 3 screws from motor.(Do not discard)(Fig.16)
Step 2. Raise the light kit plate against the light kit adapter, get the wire through the hole of light kit plate. Screw back
the removed screws on step 1.(Fig.16)

Step 3. Screw back the 3 previously removed screws and tighten the light kit.(Fig.19)

Note:Speed settings for warm or cold weather depend on factors such as room size, ceiling height and number of fans.

There is a "Universal Mode" and "Learning Mode" with the remote control.
When selecting "Universal Mode", simply place dip (code) switch to the UP
Position (COMMON CODE). There will be no need to pair your fan and
remote control.
Please Note: Under the universal mode setting, your fan can be controlled
by other transmitters also using the “Universal Mode” with no need to pair them.
To prevent any possible Interference with other fans in your home.
Minka recommends the use of the “Learning Mode” setting
by placing the dip (code) switch to the LOWER position (L. CODE) and follow
the steps below.
Learn Mode setting: Within 60 second of restoring power source to your fan, press
and hold the "LEARN" button for at least 3 seconds.
If the fan is installed with light, the light will blink 3 times.
This will indicate the process is complete and your fan is ready for use.
For fans without light, check operation using remote transmitter.
Note: Power must be off for a minimum of 10 seconds, before restoring power to attempt
the Learn Mode setting procedure.
Note:
If Multiple fans require to be controlled by a single remote transmitter Minka Recommends
Using the Learn Mode setting. Power to both fans will need to be restored at the same time and
Press the Learn button on the remote control so that both desired fans can receive the remotes
signal simultaneously.
