This mObridge M1000-M-DAB manual covers generic features only. Please refer to ‘Vehicle Specific Instructions’ within
this manual or your vehicle’s system user manual for your particular vehicle make and model.
Configuration for your vehicle
The M1000-M-DAB comes with a series of DIP-Switches
on the side so that you can program the unit to suit your
particular vehicle easily. This document is not a complete
compatibility chart. For up-to-date vehicle compatibility
please consult our website www.mobridge.us
Use a small screwdriver to change the DIP-switches on
the M1000-M-DAB. The unit will automatically reset with
the new settings. In some vehicles it may be necessary
to remove the key and allow the vehicle to sleep (lock
doors and wait 10 minutes), to ensure that the head-unit
restarts and recognizes the new device.

Installation
We highly recommend the MOST connection be made
close to the factory radio, by simply unplugging the factory
MOST connector and plugging it into the M1000-M-DAB
unit ‘T’ Piece. Then plug the supplied MOST cable from
the ‘T’ Piece back into the factory radio to complete the
MOST Loop within the car. Make sure the vehicle aerial
is connected to the M1000-M-DAB. Now you simply need
to turn your car on to verify the correct connection has
been made.
The mObridge Graphical Interface, via the USB connection,
now provides the ability for a ‘Factory Reset’ button.
Upon installation of the M1000-M-DAB unit, the user can
initiate a scan of the DAB chip. This allows for easier
initial installation of the unit.
NOTE: If the MOST Bus is not connected properly, this
can affect many functions of the vehicles operating
system including the ability to start the audio system
and the vehicle.
Vehicle Coding
Some Audi, BMW and Mercedes vehicles will require
coding in order for the M1000-M-DAB units to work
seamlessly with the factory system.
Please refer to individual vehicle notes for required coding.
WE RECOMMEND THIS BE DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICE AGENT ONLY.
Landrover
Coding is generally not required in the ‘Generation 1’
infotainment systems, up to model year 2010. ‘Generation
2’ systems will require coding by your dealership.
Audi
The procedure for this can be coded with the VAG
diagnostic tools, the Ross-Tech VCDS software suite, or
any other third party Audi tools.
Audi vehicles must have option 0x0F in the CAN gateway
coded on. This can be done using the Ross-Tech VCDS or
VAG diagnostic tools. Fig 07 on the next page illustrates
option 0x0F coded on.”
Mercedes
NTG4.x systems require coding, this can be done by the
user in the engineering menu. Earlier NTG systems do not
require any coding.
Porsche
Coding is generally not required for the Porsche PCM2.0
and PCM2.1 systems.
Features and Control
In most cases the M1000-M-DAB will work as if it’s part
of the vehicles factory audio system, therefore you can
refer to the Audio System user manual provided with
your vehicle.
When you first select the DAB or Satellite menu, the
system will ask to ‘scan’ for available radio stations.
Simply follow the instructions on your screen and your
DAB will find all available stations and set them into an
‘ensemble’, or group listing. You can now select your
favorite station and listen to crystal clear digital radio.
BMW
|
Mini
All products being fitted into BMW / MINI vehicles require
coding. mObridge has added auto-coding to its products
for ‘E series’ vehicles for the Professional radios, MASK
and CCC idrive radios. The ‘E’ and ‘F’ series CIC radios
require specialist coding. We recommend that the
Autologic Diagnostics tool be done by a professional
technician. If the vehicle never had any equipment on
MOST then MOST will be required to be turned on.

Audi - MMI3G Head Unit
MMI3G system does not provide a scan function where
it asks you to scan through the Frequency Band for
stations. Instead, the built in scan function goes through
the existing station list saved on the HU, playing one
station at a time for for approximately 5 seconds.
So station scan is implemented through seek up/down
buttons on the ‘tuning’ menu. Once selected, a scan
operation will start. The user should be able to see the
frequency labels cycling though on the menu where
the ensemble corresponding to the frequency label
on the screen is scanned for stations. Once complete,
the new station list is automatically updated, and the
frequency label will sit at the last selected ensemble.
BMW - DAB on DAB
Station scanning is achieved through the ‘Auto-store’
function. ‘Auto-store’ can be selected from anywhere
in the DAB menu either via the top level or by selecting
it through the submenu for a station.
Landrover
Double select the ‘AUX’ button to get into the DAB over
SAT Radio menu.
To Store a Preset station - follow your vehicles radio
user guide for AM/FM preset storage.
To perform a Scan – Enter the ‘settings’ menu of the
SAT Radio, select SCAN and enter ‘222’ and automatic
scan will then take place.
Porsche - SAT Radio System
DAB on SAT Radio system – This system does not allow
for Preset station storage. All other radios are fine.

mObridge makes every effort to try and keep the installation
documentation and support up to date.
We do not reimburse or bear costs arising from installations
should installation issues occur. mObridge can be contacted
via email and also via its world wide distribution network.
We always recommend contacting the local distributor first,
and although we endeavor to answer emails we receive
in a timely manner, due to time zone differences we may
not be able to respond immediately.
mObridge always recommends professional installation of
these products as they are technically complex, involving
optical fiber across multiple vehicle configurations and
software versions within these vehicles.
In some cases vehicles may require coding by specialist
workshops and diagnostic equipment. mObridge always
recommends allocating a number of hours to any installation,
just in case any issues should arise.
