DataLab LCD 15 / 15-T
Monitor description
Complete monitor package contains the following parts:
●flat panel monitor
●cable for 230 V AC power supply
●analog VGA cable 1,8 m long
●USB data cable 2 m long (only for monitors equipped with touchscreen)
●installation CD-ROM containing this documentation and touchscreen driver for
Windows
Monitor setup
Power and VGA connectors are placed on the bottom side of the monitor, control buttons,
USB and monitor control connectors are on the left side of the monitor.

Remark
Length of supplied cables can be changed upon order. Longer cables are available,
however certain limits must be ept. Maximum length of USB cable is 5 m, VGA cable
can be 10 m long. Longer distances can be connected using active repeaters.

Connectors
Following connectors are available:
●power connector for 230 V AC with fuse.
●analog VGA connector (CANNON 15 Z 3R)
●external control buttons connector (CANNON 9 Z)
●touchscreen USB-B connector (only for monitors equipped with touchscreen).
Control panel
Monitor control panel contains 6 buttons: Power, <, >, Enter, Exit and Auto. wit following
functions:
Power Switch the monitor on/off.
Enter choose selected menu item or enter submenu.
>next menu item or adjust brightness (when no menu is opened).
<previous menu item or adjust contrast (when no menu is opened).
Exit leave opened submenu or quit menu if the top level menu is active.
Auto automatic adjustments of monitor parameters according to current
VGA signal.
Quick contrast adjustment:
1. Press <.button
2. Use < and > buttons to adjust contrast from 0 (min) to 100 (max).
3. Press Exit button to keep selected contrast.

Quick brightness adjustment:
1. Press >.button
2. Use < and > buttons to adjust brightness from 0 (min) to 100 (max).
3. Press Exit button to keep selected brightness
On-screen menu functions
On-screen menu can be opened by pressing the Enter. button. Requested item can be se-
lected by < and > buttons and confirmed by pressing the Enter. button. Pressing the Exit
button always quits current submenu and returns to the upper menu. If the top-level menu
is active, pressing the Exit button closes the on-screen menu.
Top level menu items
Auto Adjust monitor analyzes incoming VGA signal and sets its parameters to
optimally fit the image on the panel.
Luminance enables brightness and contrast adjustment.
Geometry enables adjusting of horizontal and vertical image positions.
Color enables setting of image temperature.
OSD alters position and other parameters of on-screen menu itself.
Language enables presetting of on-screen menu language.
Recall restores default values of all monitor parameters.
Miscellaneous enables adjustment of miscellaneous settings (e.g. image sharp-
ness), shows current resolution and refresh rate etc..
Audio not used.

Touch screen
he flat panel monitor is optionally equipped with a touch screen. ouch screen panel
works similarly to standard computer mouse with USB interface (it is connected to the com-
puter through standard USB cable). o ensure proper function of touch screen make sure
that::
●the computer has at last one free USB port
●touch screen is USB-B port is connected to computer USB-A port with a proper
cable
●the driver of the touch screen control unit (you can find it on the accompanying
CD-ROM) is properly installed

Remark:
The LCD panel can be supplied with two different revisions of touch screen controller.
The revision of touch screen controller used is stated on the LCD panel stic er. Al-
though the functionality of both controllers is the same and users cannot distinguish
between them, different driver software must be installed for particular revision.

Monitor mounting hole
DataLab LCD 15-T is designed to be mounted to a panel. Maximal panel thickness is
10 mm. Dimensions are in millimeters.

Remark:
Usually 4 screws on the sides are enough to hold the monitor firmly in place. If the
mounting panel is rather thin, two another screws on the top and bottom sides can be
also used. Allen wrench head is recommended at last for top and bottom screws, be-
cause the available space for screw head is limited.

External control buttons
If the monitor control buttons are not reachable and it is desired to change monitor setting,
it is possible to connect external buttons to the monitor through the EX connector. he
EX connector provides access to contacts of all control buttons, as well as signal LED. In-
dividual connector pins meaning is summarized in the following table:

It is recommended to use the same external LED colors as are the color of the internal
one::
●LED 1 blue
●LED 2 yellow
he reason is the voltage levels, which differs for LEDs of different colors. External LED
cathode should be connected to the COMM pin..
