TheML‐CSA45004G(3G&2Gcompatible)CellSignalAmplifierisahighperformance,microprocessor
controlled,bidirectionalRFamplifier.Thisamplifierboostssignalin5Bands:700Mhz,850Mhz,
1900Mhz,and1700/2100MhzwhichcoversallNorthAmericanCarrierfrequencybands.Theamplifier
hasanautomaticgainandoscillationcontrolsystemthatwillautomaticallyadjustthegainandthe
outputpowerifasignalanomalyoccurs.Thisamplifierisdesignedtooperateasadirectconnectunit
withinacellularsystem,formaximumperformanceinweaksignalcoverageareas.Theinputpower
requirementsfortheamplifierarepositive8.0to32.0voltsDC(negativeground).

InsertpowerplugintotheamplifierandobserveLEDindicatorlightsforstatus,referto“LED
Diagnostics”sectionforexplanation.
4.LEDDiagnostics
Oncetheamplifierisinstalledproperlyandpowerisapplied,theLEDsonDEVICEsideofunitwillboth
turnonfollowedbythegreenLEDflashing.ThegreenLEDwillflashwhiletheamplifierincreasesitsgain
totheoptimumlevel.TheredLEDmayalsoflashduringthisstagewhilethegain(power)isproperlyset
ontheamplifier.Whenpowercontrolisestablished,thegreenLEDwillremainconstantlyon.Youmay
seethegreenandredLEDsflashbackandforth,THISISNORMAL.Inareaswherethecellularnetworkis
adequate,theamplifierwillmaintainamaximumpowerlevelacceptablefornormaloperation.Ifthe
redLEDisconstantlyonandthegreenLEDisoff,theamplifierhasdetectedafault.Theamplifierwill
shutdownautomaticallyandrestart.Ifthefaultpersists,repositiontheantennauntilnormaloperation
isachieved.Oncenormaloperationisestablished,youmaypermanentlymounttheantennasinthe
locationsyouchoseinthepriorsteps.

TheML‐CSA4500amplifierisequippedwithPatentedPassiveBypasstechnology.Thisfeatureallowsthe
amplifiertopassivelybypassitselfandbecomemerelyapassthroughcableduringtheseoccurrences:
Whenamplificationisnotnecessary,e.g.existingcellsignalstrengthisadequate
Whenconnectedcelldevicegoesinto“Stand‐By”Mode
Whenthereisapowerlosstoamplifier
Whenafaultisdetected
PassiveBypasstechnologyisusefulinapplicationswheretheamplifierismobile,movinginandoutof
poorsignalareas.Theamplifierwillbypassitselfwhenincloseproximitytocelltowers.Thisservesasa
safeguardfeature,completelyeliminatinganypotentialfordisruptiontothecellnetwork.
Thisuniquefeatureisalsoextremelyusefulinfire&securitysysteminstallationswhereaconnection
withtheantennamustalwaysbemaintained,evenwithlossofpower.
Inotherapplications,e.g.remotesolar‐poweredequipment,thecelldevicealternatesfrom“Stand‐By”
to“Active”modes,transmittingdataasneeded.ML‐CSA4500isdesignedtostayinPassiveBypass
Modeiftheconnectedsystemisin“Stand‐By”andbecomeactivewhentheconnectedsystemis
“Active”.

Multi‐Link,Inc.warrantsthatthisproductisfreefromdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipfortwo
yearsfromthedateofpurchase.Withinthisperiod,Multi‐link,Inc.will,atitssoleoption,repairor
replaceanycomponentswhichfailduringnormaluse.Multi‐Link,Inc.willprovide,withoutcharge,the
partsandlabornecessarytorectifyanysuchdefect.Multi‐Link,Inc.willnotberesponsiblefor
transportationcosts.Thiswarrantydoesnotcoverfailuresduetoabuse,misuse,accidentor
unauthorizedalterationsorrepairs..
Repairshavea90daywarranty.Iftheunitsentinisstillunderitsoriginalwarranty,thenthenew
