Start the Engine
• Sit in the seat.
• Engage the parking brake: Press the clutch/brake pedal
(Figure 7) down, and pull the parking brake lever (A,
Figure 8) up.
• Pull the blade rotation control (Figure 12) to OFF (‘O’).
• Move the throttle/choke control (Figure 9) to CHOKE.
• Turn the ignition key (B, Figure 8) to START.
• After the engine starts, release the ignition key,
and move the throttle/choke control to FAST.
Note: Always set the throttle control to FAST when driving and mowing.
Drive the Unit Off the Crate
• Move the deck lift lever (Figure 11) to the highest cutting height.
• Disengage the parking brake: Press the clutch/brake pedal.
• With the clutch/brake pedal pressed, move the shift lever (Figure 10)
into the first forward gear (‘1’).
• Slowly release the clutch/brake pedal.
Mowing
• Read the Operator’s Manual before mowing.
• Move the deck lift lever (Figure 11) to the desired cutting height.
• Push the blade rotation control (Figure 12) to ON (‘I’).
• Begin mowing.
WARNING: Do not use the Reverse Mowing Option (RMO) feature until you
have carefully read the Reverse Mowing Option Section of the Operator’s
Manual.
Stopping the Tractor, Blades, and Engine
• Press the clutch/brake pedal, and move the shift lever to Neutral (‘N’).
• Engage the parking brake.
• Pull the blade rotation control to OFF (‘O’).
• Move the throttle control to SLOW.
• Turn the ignition key to OFF (‘O’). Remove the key.
Unpack the Unit
• Remove all packaging materials from the crate and the unit. Remove any banding securing the unit to the crate.
• Locate and identify the items included with the unit.
Read the Manuals
• Carefully read all the manuals supplied with the unit. They contain important safety, operating, and maintenance information.
Install the Seat
• Insert the two posts under the seat (A, Figure 1) into the rear adjustment slots in the hinge
plate (B).
• Install the two wing bolts and small washers (C) through the front adjustment slots in the
hinge plate and into the threaded holes under the seat.
• Adjust the seat as desired, then tighten the wing bolts.
Install the Steering Wheel
• Turn the front wheels of the tractor straight ahead.
• Install the steering shaft bellows (Figure 2) over the steering shaft.
• Install the steering wheel (Figure 3) onto the steering shaft, making sure the
steering wheel is aligned straight.
• Fasten the steering wheel to the steering shaft with the hex bolt and large
washer. Tighten securely.
• Attach the steering wheel cover (Figure 4) to the center of the steering wheel.
Connect the Battery
• Raise the seat.
• Check the date on the top or side of the battery. If the unit is being put into service after the
date indicated on the battery, charge the battery for one hour at 6-10 amps.
• Install the terminal cover (not shown) onto the red cable.
• Connect the red cable to the positive (+) battery terminal (A, Figure 5) with a carriage bolt
and wing nut. Tighten securely. Slide the terminal cover over the connection.
• Connect the black cable to the negative (-) battery terminal (B, Figure 5) with a carriage bolt
and wing nut. Tighten securely.
• Lower the seat.
Check the Tire Pressure
• Adjust the pressure of the front and rear tires to 14 PSI.
Note: The tires may be overinflated for shipping purposes.
Check the Engine Oil Level
Note: The engine is shipped with oil. However, the oil level should be checked before
attempting to start the engine.
• Move the tractor to a flat, level surface.
• Raise the tractor hood to access the engine compartment.
• Remove the oil fill cap (A, Figure 6). Wipe the dipstick, replace the cap, then remove and
check the oil level. The oil level should be between the ‘Full’ and ‘Add’ marks on the dipstick.
• If necessary, add premium 10W-30 oil to the engine. Recheck the oil level.
• Replace and secure the oil fill cap.
Add Fuel
• Remove the fuel cap (B, Figure 6).
• Add clean, fresh, unleaded fuel with a minimum of 87 octane to the fuel tank.
• Replace the fuel cap, and wipe up any fuel that may have spilled.
• Lower the tractor hood.

Avoid serious injury or death:
• Know the location and function of
all controls.
• Keep safety devices (guards, shields,
switches, etc.) in place and working.
• Remove objects that could be thrown by the blade.
• Be sure blade(s) and engine are stopped before
placing hands or feet near blade(s).
• When leaving machine, shut off, remove key, and
set parking brake.
WARNING
• Read the operator's manual
before using this product.
Roll-over hazard
Operating on slopes can cause loss of
control and roll-overs.
• If you cannot back-up a hill, do not drive
on it.
• If machine stops while going uphill,
stop the blades and back down slowly.
• Avoid sudden turns.
• Go up and down slopes, not across.
DANGER
Amputation hazard
Rotating blades cut off arms and legs.
• Stop the mower when children or others are
near.
• Do not carry riders (especially children) even
with the blades off. They may fall off or return
for another ride when you are not expecting it.
• Look down and behind before and while
backing.
Carbon monoxide hazard
The engine emits poisonous carbon
monoxide gas.
• Avoid inhaling exhaust fumes.
• Only operate outdoors.
Fire hazard
Gasoline is flammable. Yard debris is combustible.
• Allow engine to cool for at least 3 minutes
before refueling.
• Keep unit cleaned of debris.

Arranque el motor
• Siéntese en el asiento. • Pise el freno de mano: Presione hacia abajo el pedal del
freno (Figura 7) y levante la palanca del freno de mano (A, Figura 8).
• Tire el control de rotación de las cuchillas (Figura 12) a
la posición APAGADO (‘O’).
• Mueva el control del acelerador/estrangulador hasta la
posición (Figura 9) ESTRANGULADOR.
• Gire la llave de contacto (B, Figura 8) hasta ARRANCAR. • Después de que arranque el motor, suelte la llave de
contacto y mueva el control del acelerador/estrangulador hasta la posición RÁPIDO.
Nota: Configure siempre el control del acelerador en posición RÁPIDO al
conducir y cortar el césped.
Saque la unidad de la caja
• Mueva la palanca de nivel de corte (Figura 11) hacia la posición más alta. • Suelte el freno de mano: Presione el pedal del freno/embrague. • Con el pedal del freno/embrague presionado, mueva la palanca de
cambios (Figura 10) a la primera marcha adelanta (‘1’).
• Suelte lentamente el pedal del freno/embrague.
Cortar el césped
• Lea el Manual del Usuario antes de cortar el césped. • Ponga la palanca de nivel de corte (Figura 11) en la altura de corte
deseada.
• Empuje el control de rotación de la cuchilla (Figura 12) a la posición
ACTIVADO (‘I’).
• Comience a cortar el césped. ADVERTENCIA: No utilice la Opción de cortar el césped marcha atrás (RMO) hasta que haya leido detenidamente la sección de Cortar el césped marcha atrás en el Manual del usuario.
Detener el tractor y el motor
• Presione el pedal del freno/embrague, y mueva la palanca de cambios a
punto muerto (‘N’).
• Pise el freno de mano. • Tire el control de rotación de la cuchilla a la posición APAGADO (‘O’). • Ponga el control del acelerador en posición LENTO. • Gire la llave de contacto hasta APAGAR (‘O’). Quite la llave de contacto.
Desembale la unidad
• Quite todos los materiales embalados de la caja y la unidad. Quite cualquier cinta que asegure la unidad a la caja. • Localice e identifique los componentes embalados con la unidad.
Lea los manuales
• Lea detenidamente los manuales proporcionados con la unidad. Contienen información importante sobre su seguridad, utilización y
mantenimiento.
Instale el asiento
• Introduzca los dos postes bajo el asiento (A, Figura 1) en las ranuras traseras de ajuste en
placa de la bisagra (B).
• Introduzca los dos pernos de palomilla y las arandelas pequeña (C) en las ranuras de ajuste
frontales en la placa de la bisagra y en los agujeros que hay bajo el asiento.
• Ajuste el asiento en el lugar deseado y a continuación apriete los pernos de palomilla.
Instale el volante
• Ponga las ruedas frontales del tactor rectas. • Instale los fuelles del eje de la dirección (Figura 2) sobre el eje de dirección. • Instale el volante (Figura 3) sobre el eje de dirección, asegurándose de que el
volante está derecho.
• Apriete el volante al eje de la dirección con el perno y la arandela grandes.
Apriételo con seguridad.
• Sujete la tapa del volante (Figura 4) al centro del volante.
Conecte la batería
• Levante el asiento. • Compruebe la fecha en la parte superior o en el lateral de la batería. Si va a manejar la
unidad después de la fecha indicada en la batería, carge la batería durante una hora con a 6-19 amps.
• Instale la tapa de la terminal (no se vizualiza) sobre el cable rojo. • Conecte el cable rojo a la terminal positiva (+) de la batería (A, Figura 5) con un perno de
carrocería y una tuerca de palomilla. Apriételo con seguridad. Deslice la tapa de la terminal sobre la conexión.
• Conecte el cable negro a la terminal positiva (+) de la batería (B) con un perno de carrocería
y una tuerca de palomilla. Apriételo con seguridad.
• Baje el asiento.
Compruebe la presión de los neumáticos
• Ajuste la presión de los neumáticos delantero y trasero a 14 PSI. Nota: Los neumáticos pueden estar sobreinflados para el transporte.
Compruebe el nivel de aceite en el motor
Nota: El motor se envía con aceite. Sin embargo, debe comprobar el nivel de aceite antes de
intentar arrancar el motor.
• Mueva el tractor a una superficie lisa y nivelada. • Levante la capota del tractor para acceder al compartimento del motor. • Quite la tapa del depósito de aceite (A, Figura 6). Limpie la varilla de medir el nivel de aceite,
vuelva a poner la tapa, remueva y compruebe el nivel de aceite. El nivel de aceite debería estar entre las marcas “LLeno” y “Añadir” en la varilla.
• Si es necesario, añada aceite 10W-30 premium al motor. Vuelva a comprobar el nivel
de aceite.
• Vuelva a poner la tapa del depósito de aceite y apriétela.
Añada combustible
• Quite la tapa del depósito de combustible (B, Figura 6). • Añada carburante sin plomo fresco y limpio con un mínimo de 87 octanos al depósito del carburante. • Vuelva a poner la tapa del depósito, y limpie el carburante que se haya derramado. • Baje el capó del tractor.

Peligro de volcadura Operar en pendientes puede ocasionar la pérdida de control y volcaduras.
• Si no puede dar marcha atrás en una colina, no conduzca en ella. • Si la máquina se detiene mientras va pendiente arriba, desactive las cuchillas y baje lentamente en reversa. • Evite las vueltas repentinas. • Conduzca hacia arriba y abajo por las pendientes, nunca de un lado a otro.

Evite las lesiones graves y la muerte:
• Conozca la ubicación y la función de todos los controles. • Conserve todos los dispositivos de seguridad (guardas, pantallas, interruptores, etc.) en su lugar y funcionando.
• Retire los objetos que puedan ser arrojados por la cuchilla. • Asegúrese de que las cuchillas y el motor se hayan detenido antes de colocar las manos o los pies cerca de las mismas. • Cuando se aleje de la máquina, apáguela, quite la llave y ponga el freno de mano.
