CHICAGO–September,19,2005–NECDisplaySolutionstodayannouncedthatitwillsupply
its newest largescreen LCDs for Toronto’s Pearson International Airport Terminal 3
RedevelopmentProject. The MultiSyncLCD4610andLCD4010displays will provide dynamic
digitalsignagecapabilitiestothepassengercheckin/servicecountersandbaggagereclaimareas.
Pearson Airport, whichfliesanaverage of78,000 passengersand handles over ahalfamillion
tons of cargo daily, has embarked on a comprehensive redevelopment and expansion of T3.
Installing new technologies and upgrading outofdate flight and baggage information displays
areanintegralpartoftheexpansionproject,whichispartoftheoverallairportdevelopmentplan.
“The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) needed a solution that could not only
withstand long hoursofuse, they needed displaysthat couldperformunder sometimes difficult
operationalconditions,”saidPhilJackson,Sr.ProjectManagerforBlack&McDonaldLimited,
theprocurementandinstallationcontractorfortheFlightInformationDisplaySystematPearson
Airport.“TheNECLCDdisplayswereselectedfromalistofnumerousproviderswhotendered
the project based on their meeting the strict specifications required by an international airport
terminalthatoperates24/7365daysperyear.”
Designedtowithstandthedemandsoflongtermoperation,theNECLCDlargescreendisplays
have the highest image contrast and brightness quality on the market. The NEC MultiSync
LCD4610 and LCD4010 monitors feature significantly improved visibility and wideangle
viewing inhighambientlightenvironments.
