With NETGEAR’s 54 Mbps Wireless Router and PC Card Kit, you’re all set to experience
blazing-fast 54 Mbps wireless speeds and impressive range. Up to five times faster than
802.11b, these higher speeds give a significant boost to your computer network, making it
easy to surf the Web, download large files, videoconference, stream high-quality digital
movies, MP3 music and photos, and play online games. Use it to quickly network one or
more PCs, game consoles, or media players in your home, avoiding unsightly Ethernet cables.
This wireless router and PC card also work with 802.11b wireless products so you can use
them with your existing 802.11b devices as well as your 54 Mbps, 802.11g devices. Double
Firewall with Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) advanced security provides maximum protection
from professional hackers. The highest available level of Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)
encryption and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) means you can rest assured that your wireless
network communications are private. URL blocking and e-mail alerts provide parents with
controls to limit access to inappropriate web sites and monitor children's access. Simple to
install, you just follow the cues shown on your PC screen.
Experience 5x the speed and 2x the range of 802.11b. The router shares your broadband connection with many users on
your network – with or without wires. It delivers 10/100 Mbps (auto-sensing) WAN and LAN connections and interoper-
ability with 54 Mbps (802.11g) and 11 Mbps (802.11b) devices over a single wireless band. Dynamic rate shifting according
to environmental conditions achieves the fastest possible connections.
A double firewal built in to the NETGEAR 54 Mbps Wireless Router secures your network against hackers: Stateful Packet
Inspection (SPI) and Network Address Translation (NAT) shield your network. Powerful WPA and 40/64-bit or 128-bit
WEP encryption on the wireless LAN conceals your information from eavesdroppers. MAC Address Control prevents
unauthorized access to your wireless network.
Parents can choose to monitor their children’s Internet activity by applying optional time-of-day limits to web access,
blocking inappropriate web sites, and opting to receive real-time e-mail alerts and logs of all network web activity.
The NETGEAR 54 Mbps Wireless PC Card supports office roaming for notebook PC users for shared broadband Internet
access and resources. It also provides maximum mobility from home, the office, the airport, and other public access areas.
NETGEAR’s Smart Wizard wireless LAN manager lets you create profiles that reflect specific WLAN settings for each place
you travel.
NETGEAR’s Smart Wizard install assistant guides you through each step of the router and card setup. Smart Wizard
