NX-089B-RR
Carphone kit does not work when stereo is off;
This is as expected. The stereo is responsible for powering an on-board amplifier, if
this is off, there is no access to any speakers in the vehicle
Disconnect the Telemute speaker jack plug and insert the original H/F speaker. Test
again, and if no audio is present, turn the ignition/stereo on. If audio is now present, then refer to
the top paragraph of this page. If audio still cannot be heard, then check for the presence of a
permanent live, mute signal and earth at the hands-free kit connector. If this still doesn't remedy the
problem, then call the Technical Helpline on 01480 832944
Troubleshooting Guide
Ignition supply and mute wire:
1) Remove head unit as per the manufacturers guide lines.
2) Connect NX-089B-RR in-line between head unit and radio harness.
3) Check mute operation by making a test call. The head unit should mute during a call
and come on again after the call is completed. Phone audio will be routed through the
front speakers.
4) Adjust the volume of both the phone and kit to standard levels, then adjust phone
audio level (not volume) through the stereo by use of the thumbwheel on the side of the
06-015 module.
