
Troubleshooting
1. Black screen on Touch display after installation and power on:
• Check that the power is actually on.
• Ensure that the cable relief that fastens the RJ45 is correctly installed in the wall mount (see item 7
below or illustration 7 in the Conversion manual).
• Ensure that the wiring is correct. We have seen many brown and brown/white wires that have
been mounted opposite.
• Ensure that all 6 wires are in their right positions and fully into the RJ45 before crimping.
• Ensure that the RJ45 is correctly crimped. We have seen bad crimping tools. Check your crimping
tool.
• If you use a pre made network cable not delivered from Nilan, ensure that it is a straight-through
type A and not a crossover cable.
• Check that the wire color-order matches the diagram.
2. If the green house appears on the display but no temperatures, RH% and water tank symbols are
presented:
• Ensure that the wiring is correct. We have seen many brown and brown/white wires that have
been mounted opposite.
• Ensure that all 6 wires are in their right positions and fully into the RJ45 before crimping.
• Ensure that the RJ45 is correctly crimped. We have seen bad crimping tools. Check your crimping
tool.
• If you use a pre made network cable not delivered from Nilan, ensure that it is a straight-through
type A and not a crossover cable.
• Check that the wire color-order matches the diagram.
• Check the RS485 jumpers (see item 8 below).
• Check SW package. LC/SC board SW must match display SW. When you order a Touch display, its
preinstalled SW may not match the SW you have installed on the LC/SC board. Therefor make a
complete SW update using a USB as shown in the Conversion manual.
3. GEO/AIR9 symbol is not shown on the display:
• Wait up to 2 min. for the system to start up and configure
◦If still not shown:
◦Check DIP switch settings.
◦Check the RS485 jumpers (see item 8 below).
◦Check the RS485 wiring and connections between the LC and SC boards.
◦Ensure that the SW on the SC inner and outer board is the same as on the LC (using procedures
from item 9 and/or 10 below).
4. Procedures of initialization error/device lost interface.
• Check the power supply to AIR9 outer unit.
• Log in to slave and master using pc app and check the temperature sensors.
◦If only one is red:
◦Check the affected sensor (connections and sensor failure).
◦If all are red (AIR9):
◦Check DIP switch settings.
◦Check the RS485 jumpers (see item 8 below).
◦Check the RS485 wiring and connections between the LC and SC boards.
◦Ensure that the SW on the SC inner and outer board is the same as on the LC (using procedures
from item 9 and/or 10 below).
◦If AIR9 unit is ok go to item 2 above.
5. Ensure the wires blue and blue/white are cut away and/or demounted from the LC board / Master.
6. Compressor overheat
• Ensure that the small wire is installed from G to T14 as show in the Conversion guide.
