How to setup the central heating
This list is made to give the installer an overview of the setting, which he has to make in consultation
with the user or builder.

You can converse from your BIG display to Nilan Touch display by following these instructions

Make sure power is OFF

Make sure power is OFF
Set dip switch 1 (Both LC and SC board) to "ON"
Turn on power - wait 10 sec.
Set dip switch 1 (Both LC and SC board) to "OFF"

Software installation
Download and Install
1. Download the latest Nilan PC Application from Nilan Net
2. Upload LC_SC_TGFX_2.00.xx.xx.BIN to the LC and SC boards using the PC Application
a. Create a folder on pc for the SW package and copy the SW package into the folder
b. Open your pc application and login to slave
c. Go to functions – firmware update
d. Select the new SW (LC_SC_TGFX_2.00.xx.xx.BIN) and press system update
e. Complete step c and d two times to ensure the outer slave board (AIR9) is updated
f. Log out of pc app.
g. Once again Open your pc application, this time log in to the Master
h. Go to functions – firmware update
i. Select the new SW (LC_SC_TGFX_2.00.xx.xx.BIN) and press system update - wait
j. Power OFF/ON the Unit

Load the BD.fw (display software) and the wanted
LNG files (language files) to an empty USB
Memory

Method 1.
Insert the USB Memory pen in the USB port.
Make sure the power is still off.
Simultaneously press and hold the small button
using a small screwdriver or pen and turn on the
power to the unit
Method 2.
Turn power on.
Simultaneously press and hold the small button
using a small screwdriver or pen and slide the wall
mount in the back side of the display

A blue line will appear in the top of the display
indicating searching for display software from
USB.
When display software is loaded, the display will
reboot
To release the display from the wall mount, press
the release button and lift off the display
In some cases an alarm can appear. Acknowledge this alarm two times and turn of all power and wait
for 10 sec. and the power will be back again. The alarm can appear once again, acknowledge and now
the alarm shall disappear.

Now load all SW files (BD, LNG’s, LC/SC) to an
empty usb pen
Insert the pen (do NOT press the small button in
the bottom of the display) and a dialogbox will
appear – press yes

Now a full update of the system will initiate.
This picture shows LC/SC Software update
Then a blue line will appear in the top of the
display indicating searching for display software
from the USB
When the display software is loaded, the display
will reboot - wait for about one minute and the
graphics will appear on the screen
Change language
Go to Generelle indstillinger → Sprog → Ændre sprog
Setup Compact P Polar
If the unit is a Compact P Polar go to:
GENEREL SETTINGS → SERVICE → UNIT TYPE
• Check if, POLAR
• If not
• Press the line
• Type 6699
• Change to POLAR
• Press green ✔
• Press red pack lock
•EXIT MENU
Check configuration using page 3 and 4.

Troubleshooting
1. Black screen on Touch display after installation and power on:
• Check that the power is actually on.
• Ensure that the cable relief that fastens the RJ45 is correctly installed in the wall mount (see item 7
below or illustration 7 in the Conversion manual).
• Ensure that the wiring is correct. We have seen many brown and brown/white wires that have
been mounted opposite.
• Ensure that all 6 wires are in their right positions and fully into the RJ45 before crimping.
• Ensure that the RJ45 is correctly crimped. We have seen bad crimping tools. Check your crimping
tool.
• If you use a pre made network cable not delivered from Nilan, ensure that it is a straight-through
type A and not a crossover cable.
• Check that the wire color-order matches the diagram.
2. If the green house appears on the display but no temperatures, RH% and water tank symbols are
presented:
• Ensure that the wiring is correct. We have seen many brown and brown/white wires that have
been mounted opposite.
• Ensure that all 6 wires are in their right positions and fully into the RJ45 before crimping.
• Ensure that the RJ45 is correctly crimped. We have seen bad crimping tools. Check your crimping
tool.
• If you use a pre made network cable not delivered from Nilan, ensure that it is a straight-through
type A and not a crossover cable.
• Check that the wire color-order matches the diagram.
• Check the RS485 jumpers (see item 8 below).
• Check SW package. LC/SC board SW must match display SW. When you order a Touch display, its
preinstalled SW may not match the SW you have installed on the LC/SC board. Therefor make a
complete SW update using a USB as shown in the Conversion manual.
3. GEO/AIR9 symbol is not shown on the display:
• Wait up to 2 min. for the system to start up and configure
◦If still not shown:
◦Check DIP switch settings.
◦Check the RS485 jumpers (see item 8 below).
◦Check the RS485 wiring and connections between the LC and SC boards.
◦Ensure that the SW on the SC inner and outer board is the same as on the LC (using procedures
from item 9 and/or 10 below).
4. Procedures of initialization error/device lost interface.
• Check the power supply to AIR9 outer unit.
• Log in to slave and master using pc app and check the temperature sensors.
◦If only one is red:
◦Check the affected sensor (connections and sensor failure).
◦If all are red (AIR9):
◦Check DIP switch settings.
◦Check the RS485 jumpers (see item 8 below).
◦Check the RS485 wiring and connections between the LC and SC boards.
◦Ensure that the SW on the SC inner and outer board is the same as on the LC (using procedures
from item 9 and/or 10 below).
◦If AIR9 unit is ok go to item 2 above.
5. Ensure the wires blue and blue/white are cut away and/or demounted from the LC board / Master.
6. Compressor overheat
• Ensure that the small wire is installed from G to T14 as show in the Conversion guide.
