principleofNOBLEXcamerasyou enterinanewworldofdramaticand expanded photographic
applications.AsNOBLEXcamerasvastlydiffertramtraditionalcamerasystems,werecommend
reading the operating instructionscarefullybeforeusing the camerathe first time.
Please note:
These operatinginstructionsare generalinstructionsforallNOBLEXcameras forroll film.
Should youownamodelnothavingallfeatures, youcanomitcertainchapters.

SpecialFeatures ofNOBLEX
1.NOBLEXcamerasusethe principleof the lensrotating 360°foreachexposure.
2.The film,resting on acurved filmplane,isexposed through the constantlymoving shutterslit.
3.During the firsthalfofthe rotation the lensdrumisaccelerated toaconstantspeed insuring
absolutelyeven exposureof the filmduring the second halfof the rotation.
4.Thisresultsindistortion free photographswithan angleofviewof146°when using aNOBLEX
PRO6/150 and 138°when takingpictureswithaNOBLEXPRO175.Whatmakesthesepictures
stand out aretheirremarkablyeven edge toedge illumination and unsurpassed sharpness.
5.The photographscorrespond tothe natural spaceperception ofthe human eye.
ImportantNotes
1.The cameraisnotwaterproofand thereforenotsuited foruseinwetenvironments,when raining
orinsnow.Acameradropped intothe waterbyaccident,shouldimmediatelysend tothe
NOBLEXServiceCentre.Protectyourcameratramseawaterhazeand tramhigh humidity.To
properlyclean yourcamera, useadry clothorasoft brushaftertaking pictures.
2.Inthe eventserviceisrequired,nevertrytorepairyourcamerayour-self,contactthe closest
NOBLEXServiceStation.
3.Removethe batteriesif you willnot usethe cameraformorethan twoweeks.
4.Whennotusing the camerastoreitinthe caseand keep the camerainacool,dryand dust-free
location.Do notexposethe cameratodirectsunlightifitisnotnecessary and avoidstrong heat
influence(e.g.intrunkorglovecompartmentsof cars).
5.Check allcamerafunctionscarefullyafterlong storage.
6.Batteriescan leakorexplode and havethe potential tocausepersonalharm.Do notopen battery,
exposetofireorhigh temperature,recharge,putinbackwards,ormixwithanyotherbattery type.
Disposeof themproperlyand alwaysavoidmisuse.
7.Aswithanyelectronicitem,payattentiontocondensation when moving tramacoldarea toa
warmer, ashigh humidityand dampness mayoccur.
8.Ifcolourfilmremainstoo long inthe camera,you mayexperienceacolourshift. Alwaysusefresh
film.
9.Avoidtaking photographsinthe direction ofastrong light source, e.g. thesun.

Thread the camerastrap inthe lug (8).
InsertingtheBatteries
NOBLEXPROcamerasrequire4batteriesAAA(RO3/UM4/LR)1,5V.Pleaseusehigh-qualityalkaline
batteries,ofcourse,withitems‚Photo/Audio‘,‚Photo‘ or‚Power‘.When inserting the batteriesfollow
theseinstructions:
1.Open the battery compartment cover(24)bypressing the
upperhalfof the coverslightlyand pushitupwards.
2.Open up the battery compartmentcover(24).
3.Insertthe newbatteries.Payattention tothe rightpolarity
and position of the stripsforremoving the batteries.
4.Liftthe battery compartmentcover(24)down.
5.Closethe coverbypressing the lowerhalfofthe cover
slightlyand pushitdownwardsatthe sametimeuntilitis
engaged.
Please note
Neverusebatteriesofdifferenttypesand do notmixoldbatterieswithnewones.Do notuse
rechargeablebatteries.Ifyou do notuseyourcameraforan extended time,removethe batteriesfor
thistime.
Insertingandremovingthefilm
NOBLEXPROcamerasrequire120 rollfilm.Toinsertand change the filmpleasefollowthese
instructions:

1.Turnthe cameraoff atthe ON/OFF switch(10).
2.Advancethe winding disk(5)untilthe counter
(5a)reachesposition »5«.(Ifnecessary,press
the shutterreleasebutton (4)toadvancetothe
position »5«.)
3.Unlock the cameraback(9)and open it.
4.Insertthe filmspoolintothe left-hand spring-
loaded compartment(14).
5.Insertthe emptyfilmspoolintothe right-hand
compartment(18). The spoolmustengage inthe
uppercatch(20).
6.Thread the tongue ofthe paperlead intothe
take-up spool.
7.Turnthe winding disk(5)untilthe doublearrow
on the protectivepaperofthe filmisoppositethe
red doton the camerafilmguide (16).pay
attention toinsureatight winding of thefilm.
8.Closethe cameraback and lockit (9).
9.Press the startbutton (5b).Thecounteris
released withthat. Remark: Atoldermodelsthe
startkey(5b)isn'tavailableyet.Inthiscasethe
shutterreleasebutton (4)hastobe pushed.
10.Advancethe winding disk(5)inthe direction of
the arrowuntilitstops.The filmcountershould

7.Insertthe take-up spoolintothe right-hand
compartment (18).
8.Thread the tongue ofthe paperlead intothe empty
spool.
9.Turnthe winding disk(5)untilthe doublearrowon the
protectivepaperofthe filmisoppositethe red doton
the camerafilmguide (16).Makesurethatthe filmis
wound snug ontothe takeup spool.
10.Closethe cameraback and atthe
sametimepress the left diversion
roller(19)slightlytothe back.
11.Lock the cameraback(9).
12.Press the startbutton (5b).The
counterisreleased withthat.
Remark: Atoldermodelsthe start
key(5b)isn'tavailableyet.Inthis

6.Rotatethe filmadvanceknob (5)inthe direction ofthe arrowuntilitstops.
7.Aftercarefullyviewing yoursubject depress the shutterreleasebutton (4).
Please note
Payattention tothe properholdingofthe
camera.Otherwiseyourhandsmayappearin
the photograph.
Whensighting the camerarefertothe levels.
Inclined skylinesand con-verging vertical
linescan thusbe reliablyavoided.Please
refertothe TechnicalFeatureson the back
coverortothe table(25a)on the back of your
camerafordepthoffieldfigures.
It isadvisabletoswitchthe cameraoff (10)
whenthereisalongerintervalbetween two
exposurestoconservebattery life.
LongTimeExposures
TouseyourNOBLEXPRO intheslowexposurerange you requirethe slowexposuremodule. Please
turntopage 9forthis.
Use of‘LensShift’ function
When using the lensshiftthe subjectismoved upwardswithouttilting the camera.
Converging linescan thusbe avoided. Inordertoshiftthe lens:
Setthe shift setting wheel(1b)tomarking »S«.Setthe shiftsettingwheel(1b)to
marking »0« toreturnthe lenstothe normalposition.
Please note A»cut-out«(7a)isprovided inthe viewfindertohelpdeterminethe
top edge ofthe »shifted« photograph.
MultipleExposures
Inordertoexposeone frameoffilmmorethan once,switchthe doubleexposurebutton (6)toposition
»M«.Press the shutterreleaseknob (4)onceforasingleexposure.Thisprocedurecan be repeated
asoften asyou wish. Keeping the shutterreleaseknob (4)pressed, the lenswillcontinue torotateand
the exposing processisrepeated untilyou releasethe knob (4).The completeexposuretimeconsists
of allsingleexposuretimes.You willfind acorresponding tableon page 13.
Please note Werecommend using atripod and cablereleaseformost applicationsofmultiple
exposures.

FiltersandClose-upLenses
AsaccessoriesforNOBLEXcamerasweofferawide range offiltersand close-up lenses.NOBLEX
filtersan close-up lensesarespeciallydesigned withamagneticring on the back surfaceofthe
filter/close-up lenses.Theycan thusdirectlybe fixed tothe lens.Forinserting the filteroraclose-up
lensfollowtheseinstructions:
1.Turnthe cameraoff atthe ON/OFFswitch
(10).
2.Pushthe doubleexposurebutton (6)to
position »M«.
3.Press the shutterreleasebutton (4)and hold
itpressed.
4.Turnthe lensdrumanticlockwiseuntilit
reachesastop.
5.Releasethe shutterreleasebutton (4).
6.Put the cameraon itsback.
7.Pickup the filterorthe close-up lensbythe
holeofthe filterringusing apairoftweezers
and insertitthrough the shutterslit.Placethe
filterontothelens.The filterismagnetically
heldontothefrontofthe lens.
8.Turnthe lensdrumback untilit isengaged.
9.Pushthe doubleexposurebutton (6)backto
singleexposure, if desired.

Please note
Tostep 5: Ifyou turnthe drumclockwisethe filmisexposed and you loseone picture.Pleasebe very
carefulwhen changing filters/close-up lensesinordertoavoiddamage tothe lenscaused
bythe tweezers.
TheSlow ExposureModule
The moduleforslowexposuresoffersyou theopportunitytowork comfortablywiththeseNOBLEX
PROcamerasdesigned forthe slowexposuremoduleinthe slowspeedrange.The necessary power
issupplied bythebatteriesof the camera.
Attaching to NOBLEX PRO
Toattachthe moduletoyourcamerapleasefollowtheseinstructions:
1.Removethe protectivecap byturning the fastening knob (701)
clockwise.
2.Turnthe cameraoff atthe ON/OFF switch(10).
3.Turnthe control ring (702)ofthe moduleuntilbothwhitedotsface
eachother.
4.Attachthe slowexposuremoduletothe left-hand camerabottomso
thatthe guide pins(703)meshwiththeinter-face(11)inthe camera
bottom.Atthe sametimethe whitedotsofcameraand slowspeed
modulemustfaceeachother.
5.Turnthe fastening knob (701)untilthe moduleistightlyconnected
withthe NOBLEXcamera.
Toremovethe moduletramyourcamerapleasefollowtheseinstructions:
1.Turnthe cameraoff atthe ON/OFF switch(10).

The LEDindicator(3)willshowgreen.
The long timeexposuremodulewasdesigned tobe asmaintenance-free aspossible.However,
protectthemoduletramextremevibrations,damage,heatand moisture.Do notuseorganicsolvents
forcleaning themodule.Keep the driveshaft(704)clean and dry.

ThePANOLUX150
The PANOLUX150 isan exposuremetering and controlmodulewhichyou can purchaseinaddition
toyourNOBLEXPRO150/175.ThePANOLUXautomaticallycontrolsthe exposuretimeofyour
camera.Therearetwomeasuring methodsforthis:reflectivemetering (lightmetering indirection of
the subject),and metering of incidentlight.The incidentlightmeteringotterstwodifferentmethodsof
measuring:puremetering ofincidentlight(metering of
the lightfalling on the subjectand/orthe whitediffuser
independent of the reflection qualitiesof the subject)and
subject-oriented metering ofincidentlight(simultaneous
reading withthe front detectorcelland the diffuserwhich
meansthatthe reflectionsofthesubjectaretaken into
consideration).
Whenworking inreflectivemeteringorsubject-oriented
metering ofincidentlightitisalsopossibletoenter
correctionfactorsintothe PANOLUXwhichinfluencethe
drumrotation speed during the exposureprocess.
According tothe correction factorseton thePANOLUX,
the lensdrummovesslowerortasterinthe
corresponding partsofthe exposureand different
exposuretimesareproduced during one drumrotation.Typically,aslowerrotation will,brighten'that
area. ConverseIy,atasterrotationwill,darken'thatportionofthe photograph.
You findbroaderdetailson thisintheoperation instructionsforthe PANOLUX150.
CareofCamera
Forhigh-qualityphotographsand reliableoperation ofyourcamerawerecommend you clean the
cameraregularly.Do notuseorganicsol-ventssuchaspetrolether,thinningorstrong cleaning
agents. Forremoving dust and fluff, useasmalland soft photobrush. payspecial attention to:
