C-4040 ZOOM
The Olympus School of Digital Photography is a one-day workshop co ering
e erything from digital image capture to final output. To register, isit
www.olympusphotoschool.com or call 1-800-833-6297 x6161.
Finally a reason to quit your day job.
A Wide-View color LCD monitor makes for easy framing
and fast re iewing in any lighting situation.
This is it. The camera that may finally con ince you to
change careers and become a professional photographer.
It’s the remarkable CAMEDIA C-4040 Zoom. And at its
heart is a sophisticated 4.1 megapixel CCD. You’ e ne er
seen such unbelie able photographs (like the one below,
in fact) from such a compact, ersatile camera.
But as you’ll see, the C-4040 Zoom is about more than
pixels. It’s also about the photographic technology to
take full ad antage of all those pixels. And it’s about a
lens designed specifically for digital photography.
Because without the right lens, all the pixels in the world
won’t gi e you pictures like the ones you’re about to take.
C 4040Z
The easier it is, the more fun it is. With
Auto-Connect USB, any USB computer
with Windows ME, 2000 Pro, XP or Mac
OS 8.6 – OS X will instantly recognize and
connect the C-4040 Zoom. No software
to mess with. Just plug and play.
Our exclusi e in-camera Optimum Image Enlargement
mode enlarges images to 3200 x 2400 for big, beautiful
16" x 20" prints. The new Auto Pixel Mapping mode checks
the CCD and remaps it for maximum CCD performance.
Within the CAMEDIA C-4040 Zoom’s attracti e, compact
exterior lies a ery special lens. Instead of simply
fitting a traditional lens to a digital body, we designed
a lens exclusi ely for digital photography.
By focusing light at a more direct angle, all 4 million
pixel wells are properly filled, resulting in true, natural
color and sharp detail from edge to edge.
It also results in a camera you’ll want to use day and
night, indoors and out. So we made it a super bright
f1.8. With a lens this ersatile, you’ll find yourself in
more right places at more right times than e er before.
And naturally, since it’s an Olympus lens, it’s crafted
with all the precision and clarity that’s made us the
world leader in film and filmless photography.
A lens designed exclusively for
digital photography.
More light with the f1.8
aperture means better
performance. You can shoot
in less light, shoot faster
shutter speeds in low light,
use the built-in flash up
to 18 feet and shoot with a
shallower depth of field.
The C-4040 Zoom lens focuses
light at direct angles to properly
fill pixel wells with information.
Film lens C-4040Z lens
Ten lenses in 7 groups designed for digital photography.
It’s a 7.1mm – 21.3mm aspherical glass 3x optical zoom
lens, equi alent to a 35mm – 105mm film lens. And with
the 7.5x digital zoom, you can go to the equi alent of 262mm.
C 4040Z
By themsel es, the CAMEDIA C-4040 Zoom’s superior
4.1 megapixel CCD and breakthrough lens are enough
to guarantee the kind of sharp, beautiful pictures
you’ e always wanted to shoot. But when you consider
all the features that make it easy, ersatile and just
plain fun to use, well, the world’s your playground.
The rest of the picture.
C 4040Z
A simplified menu, shortcut
settings and a customizable
button make for quick, easy
adjustments.
The noise reduction system
(below) gi es you clean colors
and sharp detail when shooting
long exposures in low light.
