MODEL
OWNERS OPERATING MANUAL
PORTABLE
AIR WAVE COOLER

Congratulations on your purchase of this power saving
North Storm™ Evaporative Air Cooler!
Read all instructions carefully before setting up and operating the cooler.
Please keep this instruction manual for future reference. This manual is
designed to provide you with important information needed to setup, operate,
maintain, and troubleshoot your cooler. Failure to follow these instructions
may damage and/or impair its operation and void the warranty.
North Storm Evaporative Air Coolers are built to maximize energy efficiency
and keep costs low. Warm air is drawn into the cooler and enters the Cooling
Media. Water pumped from the tank pours over the cooling media. As the
warm air passes through the cooling media, the water absorbs the heat,
naturally cooling and humidifying the air. A fan propels the cooled air out
into the room. This no-compressor system cools naturally, efficiently and
inexpensively.
NOTE: The North Storm™ Air Cooler can be used right out of the box, with
no assembly.

NOTE: It is normal for the air cooler to have a slight odor or for the water stored
in the water tank to have a slight discoloration during first use.
In order to enjoy maximum cooling you will need to ensure there is water in the
water tank.
This product features a low water protection. If the water level is low, the unit
will beep continuously for five seconds and turn off the water cooling function.
When filling the water tank, please note the level indicator in the front of the air
cooler (Fig. A)
1. Do not fill the water beyond the maximum water level (Fig. A)
2. For best results we recommend using filtered or distilled water
In order to provide a continuous flow of water to the water tank you can connect
a water line to the nozzle on the back of the cooler (Fig. B). The cooler will
regulate water flow from the hose. We recommend a seperate shut off valve on
the water line.

When using the Air Wave Cooler, basic safety precautions should always be
followed:
1. Your cooler runs on 120 Volt AC, 60 Hz current. Check the household voltage
to ensure it matches the appliance’s rate specification.
2. Before operating the product remove it from its packaging and check that it is
in good condition.
3. DO NOT operate any product with a damaged cord or plug.
4. DO NOT run power cord under carpeting, or cover it with rugs or runners. Keep
the cord away from areas where it may be tripped over.
5. Always unplug the product before refilling the water tank.
6. Always unplug the appliance from the power source before cleaning, servicing
or relocating the unit.
7. Remove the power cord from the electrical receptacle by grasping and pulling
on the power cord plug-end only, never pull the cord.
8. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions of
the cooler, as this may void the warranty.
9. DO NOT cover the air inlet or outlet on the appliance as this may cause motor
damage.
10. DO NOT insert or allow objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as
this may damage the product and could cause an electrical shock or fire.
11. DO NOT operate with the Honeycomb media removed as this will overload
and damage the motor.
12. DO NOT leave the operating appliance unattended for any extended period of
time.
13. DO NOT let children play with this appliance, packaging or plastic bags.
14. If the unit is damaged or if it malfunctions do not continue its use. Refer to
the Troubleshooting Guide or contact us at 877.891-7333. Place the unit on
a level floor.
15. Never locate the product where it may fall into a bathtub or other water
container. Store in a dry area when not in use.
16. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children or elderly)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
SAFETY

17. Always grip the back handle to move the cooler.
18. Don’t use indoor extension cords outside. Look for extension cords
specifically marked for outdoor use. Look for extension cords that have a
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) built in.
19. Make sure the amperage rating for the extension cord is higher than the
amperage rating for the appliance. Check labels and owner’s manuals on the
appliance and the extension cord for amperage ratings.
20. Power cords have to be contained. If they must run along the ground, make
sure every inch of them is secured so they will not be tripped over.
21. The wiring and connections must be waterproof. Be sure the connections (to
the air cooler) never get wet. Your unit is waterproof, but everything attached
to it must be waterproof, too.
22. Set up your unit so it cannot be tripped over or wobble loose. It must rest on
a solid support.
23. Unplug from power when refilling.
24. If the product fails in any way, please notify the service center at
877.891-7333. Do not disassemble or replace parts.
25. Disassembly or modification without permission will affect the safety of the
product and automatically void the warranty
26. The water level of the tank shouldn’t exceed the maximum level, and
shouldn’t be lower than the minimum level when the cooling/humidification
function is turned on.
27. It is recommended to change the water in the water tank every 24 hours.
It is also recommended to empty the tank and wipe it thoroughly with
sanitizing wipes on a regular basis.
28. After water is filled, do not tilt or attempt to move the air cooler in order to
prevent water splashing.
29. If the product has been knocked over, immediately pull the plug from the
outlet, set the air cooler vertical, or in its correct position and wait for 24
hours before starting.
