apparaat niet langer als het

is geweest.
Reinig het apparaat en de•
accessoires. Zie het gedeelte
"Reiniging en onderhoud".
Elektrische veiligheid
Controleer voor gebruik altijd•
of de netspanning
overeenkomt met de
spanning op het typeplaatje
van het apparaat.
Bedien het apparaat niet•
door middel van een externe
timer of een apart
afstandsbedieningssysteem.
Sluit het apparaat op een•
geaard stopcontact aan.
Gebruik indien nodig een
geaarde verlengkabel met
een geschikte diameter
(minimaal 3 x 1 mm2).
Zorg ervoor dat er geen•
water in de aansluitpunten
van het netsnoer en het
verlengsnoer kan komen.
Wikkel netsnoer en het•
verlengsnoer altijd volledig af.
Zorg ervoor dat het netsnoer•
niet over de rand van een
werkblad hangt, dat het niet
per ongeluk verstrengeld kan
raken en dat niemand erover
kan struikelen.
Houd het netsnoer uit de•
buurt van warmtebronnen,
olie en scherpe randen.
Gebruik het apparaat niet als•
het netsnoer of de stekker
beschadigd of defect is. Laat
een beschadigd of defect
netsnoer of een stekker door
de fabrikant of een erkend
servicecentrum vervangen.
Trek de stekker niet aan het•
netsnoer uit het stopcontact.
Haal de stekker uit het stop-•
contact als het apparaat niet in
gebruik is, voordat u het gaat
monteren of demonteren en
voordat u reinigings- en
onderhoudswerkzaamheden
gaat uitvoeren.

gevuld apparaat uitsluitend
in vorstvrije omgevingen.
Gebruik het apparaat niet op•
plaatsen hoger dan 1,500 m
boven zeeniveau.
Plaats het apparaat op een•
stabiel en vlak oppervlak.
Plaats het apparaat op een•
hittebestendig en spatvrij
oppervlak.
Plaats het apparaat niet op•
een kookplaat.
Plaats het apparaat niet op•
hete oppervlakken of in de
buurt van open vlammen.
Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat•
niet in contact komt met
brandbaar materiaal.
Houd het apparaat uit de•
buurt van warmtebronnen.
Wees voorzichtig met heet•
water en stoom om
brandwonden te vermijden.
Reiniging en onderhoud
Waarschuwing!
- Schakel voor reiniging en onderhoud het
apparaat uit en verwijder de netstekker uit
het stopcontact.
- Dompel het apparaat niet onder in water
of andere vloeistoffen.
Voorzichtig!
- Gebruik geen bijtende of schurende
reinigingsmiddelen om het apparaat en de
verschillende onderdelen van het apparaat
te reinigen.
Controleer het apparaat regelmatig op•
mogelijke schade.
Reinig de buitenkant van het apparaat met•
een zachte, vochtige doek. Droog de
buitenkant van het apparaat grondig met
een schone, droge doek.
Reinig de accessoires na ieder gebruik:•
- Reinig de koffiepadcassette en de
cassette voor gemalen koffie in sop.
- Reinig de dispensercassette en het
koffiedispenserfilter in sop.
- Reinig het waterreservoir en het deksel
van het waterreservoir in sop.
- Reinig de kophouder en de lekbak in
sop.
- Spoel de accessoires af onder stromend
water.
- Droog de accessoires grondig met een
schone, droge doek.
Spoelen van het apparaat (fig. A - C)
Het apparaat moet worden gespoeld indien
het gedurende een aantal dagen niet is
gebruikt. Begin altijd direct na het inschakelen
met spoelen om het energieverbruik te
verminderen.
Waarschuwing!
- Wees voorzichtig met heet water en stoom
om brandwonden te vermijden. Tijdens het
proces kan hete stoom uit de koffiedispenser
ontsnappen.
- Zorg er voor het spoelen van het apparaat
voor dat het waterreservoir in het
apparaat is geplaatst.

Spoel het waterreservoir (12).•
Vul het waterreservoir (12) met water tot•
de maximummarkering ("MAX") op de
waterniveau-indicator (13).
Plaats het waterreservoir (12) in het•
apparaat.
Plaats de koffiepadcassette (11) in het•
apparaat.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'A'.•
Plaats twee grote koppen naast elkaar op•
de kophouder (14).
Druk op de aan/uit-knop (1) om het•
apparaat in te schakelen.
Houd beide start/stop-knoppen (2/3)•
gelijktijdig ingedrukt om het spoelen te
starten. De "klaar voor gebruik"-indicator
(5) brandt rood.
Zet na het einde van het proces de•
vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'B'.
Reinigen van de
koffiedispenserfilter (fig. A)
De kwaliteit van de schuimlaag gaat achteruit
wanneer het koffiedispenserfilter door kalk of
koffieresten is verstopt. Het koffiedispenserfilter
moet regelmatig worden gereinigd.
Voorzichtig!
- Indien de twee filters van het koffiedispenser-
filter tegen elkaar worden gedrukt, vervang
dan het koffiedispenserfilter.
Verwijder de dispensercassette (9) uit het•
apparaat.
Verwijder het koffiedispenserfilter (10) uit•
de dispensercassette (9).
Reinig het koffiedispenserfilter (10) in sop•
met behulp van een zachte borstel om
koffieresten te verwijderen.
Giet een klein beetje ontkalkingsmiddel•
door de opening van het
koffiedispenserfilter (10) om kalk te
verwijderen.
Spoel het koffiedispenserfilter (10) af•
onder stromend water.
Monteer het koffiedispenserfilter (10) op•
de dispensercassette (9).
Monteer de dispensercassette (9) op het•
apparaat.
Instellen van het
waterhardheidbereik (fig. A)
Het apparaat kan op verschillende instellingen
voor waterhardheid worden ingesteld. De
fabrieksinstelling van de waterhardheid is 4.
Neem contact op met uw waterleidingbedrijf
of de betreffende lokale instantie voor de
waterhardheid in uw regio. Indien de
waterhardheid in uw regio lager is dan 4, kunt
u de instelling voor de waterhardheid wijzigen,
zodat het apparaat minder vaak hoeft te
worden ontkalkt.
Stel het apparaat met behulp van de aan/•
uit-knop (1) op de waterhardheid in uw
regio in. Zie de onderstaande tabel voor
het instellen van de juiste waterhardheid.

Druk op de aan/uit-knop (1) om het•
apparaat uit te schakelen.
Houd de start/stop-knop (3) gedurende•
3-4 seconden ingedrukt totdat de
ontkalkingsindicator (6) knippert.
Druk op de start/stop-knop (3) om de•
waterhardheid met één niveau te verhogen.
(Niveau 4 wordt gevolgd door niveau 1, etc.)
Druk kort op de aan/uit-knop (1) om de•
nieuwe waterhardheid op te slaan. Indien
de aan/uit-knop (1) niet binnen tien
seconden wordt ingedrukt, schakelt het
apparaat automatisch uit zonder de
instelling op te slaan.
Herhaal de eerste twee stappen om de•
waterhardheid te controleren.
Ontkalken van het apparaat
(fig. A - C)
Het apparaat moet regelmatig worden
ontkalkt. Het apparaat heeft een automatische
ontkalkingsindicator die de gebruiker
informeert wanneer ontkalken nodig is.

Let op: Schade veroorzaakt door het niet
regelmatig ontkalken van het apparaat wordt
niet gedekt door de garantie.
Indien de ontkalkingsindicator (6) knippert,•
moet het apparaat worden ontkalkt.
U kunt nog steeds koffie zetten.
Indien de ontkalkingsindicator (6) continu•
verlicht is, loopt het ontkalkingsprogramma.
Het automatische ontkalkingsprogramma van
het apparaat is geoptimaliseerd voor gebruik
van 125 ml durgol®swiss espresso®. Het product
wordt onverdund gebruikt, is zeer effectief en
garandeert een betrouwbare ontkalking en
dus een lange levensduur van het apparaat.
Het ontkalkingsmiddel is verkrijgbaar bij ons
servicestation.
Waarschuwing!
- Wees voorzichtig tijdens het ontkalken van
het apparaat om beschadiging van meubels
of kleding te voorkomen. Plaats een lege
pan (minstens 1,2 l) zodanig onder de
koffiedispenser (8) dat spatten wordt
voorkomen.
Voorzichtig!
- Gebruik bij het ontkalken van het apparaat
uitsluitend de aangegeven hoeveelheid
durgol®swiss espresso®.
- Gebruik geen azijn of azijnconcentraat om
het apparaat te ontkalken.
- Gebruik geen citroenzuur om het apparaat
te ontkalken.
Vul het lege waterreservoir (12) met durgol• ®
swiss espresso®(125 ml), aangevuld met
vers water (0,8 l).
Plaats het waterreservoir (12) in het apparaat.•
Plaats de lege koffiepadcassette (11) in het•
apparaat.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'A'.•
Plaats een lege pan (minstens 1,2 l) onder•
de koffiedispenser (8).
Druk op de aan/uit-knop (1) om het•
apparaat in te schakelen.
Houd beide start/stop-knoppen (2/3)•
gedurende 4 seconden gelijktijdig
ingedrukt om het ontkalken te starten.
De ontkalkingsindicator (6) brandt geel.
Na ongeveer 10 minuten knippert de laag-•
water-indicator (4) geel.
Leeg de pan en plaats hem terug onder de•
koffiedispenser (8).
Vul het lege waterreservoir (12) met vers•
water (1 l). De "klaar voor gebruik"-
indicator (5) knippert groen.
Druk op de start/stop-knop (2/3) om de•
eerste spoelcyclus te starten.
Na ongeveer 2 minuten is de eerste•
spoelcyclus voltooid. De laag-water-indicator
(4) knippert geel.
Leeg de pan en plaats hem terug onder de•
koffiedispenser (8).
Vul het lege waterreservoir (12) met vers•
water (1 l). De "klaar voor gebruik"-
indicator (5) knippert groen.
Druk op de start/stop-knop (2/3) om de•
tweede spoelcyclus te starten.
Na ongeveer 2 minuten is de tweede spoel-•
cyclus voltooid. Het ontkalken is voltooid.
Het apparaat schakelt automatisch uit.
Reinig na ontkalking van het apparaat de•
dispensercassette (9), het koffiedispenser-
filter (10) en de koffiepadcassette (11) in
sop met behulp van een zachte borstel.
Beschrijving (fig. A)
Uw 240400 Nova koffiezetapparaat is ontworpen
voor het zetten van koffie. Het apparaat is
uitsluitend geschikt voor gebruik binnenshuis.
Het apparaat is alleen geschikt voor huishoudelijk
gebruik.

Cassette voor gemalen koffie
Met de cassette voor gemalen koffie kunt u
genieten van uw favoriete merk vers gemalen
koffie met room zonder gebruik te hoeven
maken van standaard commerciële koffiepads.
Eerste gebruik
Voorbereiding
Reinig de koffiepadcassette en de cassette•
voor gemalen koffie in sop.
Reinig de dispensercassette en het•
koffiedispenserfilter in sop.
Reinig het waterreservoir en het deksel van•
het waterreservoir in sop.
Reinig de kophouder en de lekbak in sop.•
Spoel de accessoires af onder stromend•
water.
Droog de accessoires grondig met een•
schone, droge doek.
Ontluchten (fig. A & B)
Het apparaat moet voor het eerste gebruik
worden ontlucht. Ontluchten is uitsluitend
vereist bij nieuwe apparaten.
Voorzichtig!
- Vul het waterreservoir uitsluitend met vers
koud water. Vul het waterreservoir niet
met koolzuurhoudend water of andere
vloeistoffen.
- Vul het waterreservoir niet verder dan de
maximummarkering ("MAX").
- Onderbreek niet het ontluchten, verwijder
niet het waterreservoir en verwijder de
netstekker niet uit het stopcontact, zodat
het ontluchten niet hoeft te worden herstart.
Vul het waterreservoir (12) met water tot•
de maximummarkering ("MAX") op de
waterniveau-indicator (13).
Plaats het waterreservoir (12) in het•
apparaat.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'B'.•
Plaats de lege koffiepadcassette (11) in het•
apparaat.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'A'.•
Let op: Als de koffiepadcassette niet is
geplaatst, kan de vergrendelingskraag niet in
positie 'A' worden gezet.
Plaats de lekbak (15) in de bodem van het•
apparaat.
Plaats de kophouder (14) op de lekbak (15).•
Plaats twee grote koppen naast elkaar op•
de kophouder (14).
Druk op de aan/uit-knop (1) om het•
apparaat in te schakelen.
Druk kort op de start/stop-knop (2/3) om het•
ontluchten te starten. Tijdens het opstarten
wordt het aantal vereiste spoelcycli
elektronisch vastgesteld. Indien meerdere
spoelcycli vereist zijn, wordt het proces
iedere 45 seconden afgebroken en knippert
de "klaar voor gebruik"-indicator (5) groen.
Leeg indien nodig de koppen en druk
nogmaals op de start/stop-knop (2/3).

De start/stop-knop (2/3) brandt rood
wanneer het apparaat voldoende is gespoeld.
Het water wordt verwarmd tot de start/stop-
knop (2/3) van rood naar groen verandert.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'B'.•
Koffie zetten met koffiepads
(fig. A - C)
Gebruik conventionele koffiepads met een
buitendiameter van 7 cm.
Waarschuwing!
- Schakel voor montage of demontage het
apparaat uit en verwijder de netstekker uit
het stopcontact.
Voorzichtig!
- Gebruik niet de volgende soorten koffiepads:
- koffiepads met een kleinere
buitendiameter dan 7 cm;
- harde koffiepads voor espressoapparaten;
- koffiepads met toevoegingen voor
cappuccino, etc.
- Doe geen beschadigde koffiepads, losse
gemalen koffie of oploskoffie in de
koffiepadcassette.
Voorzichtig!
- Volg de onderstaande instructies voor het
plaatsen van koffiepads in de
koffiepadcassette:
- Gebruik de met '1' gemarkeerde zijde
van de koffiepadcassette voor één kop
koffie. Gebruik de met '2' gemarkeerde
zijde van de koffiepadcassette voor twee
koppen koffie.
- Tik licht met de vingertoppen op de
koffiepad om de gemalen koffie in de
koffiepad gelijkmatig te verdelen.
Maak een kleine inkeping in het midden
van de koffiepad.
- Plaats asymmetrische koffiepads met de
platte zijde naar beneden in het
apparaat.
- Indien u twee koffiepads tegelijkertijd
gebruikt, druk dan de eerste koffiepad
stevig in de uitsparing in de koffiepad-
cassette met de papieren rand naar boven
gericht. Plaats vervolgens de tweede
koffiepad in de koffiepadcassette
volgens de bovenstaande instructies.
Vul het waterreservoir (12) met water tot•
de maximummarkering ("MAX") op de
waterniveau-indicator (13).
Plaats het waterreservoir (12) in het•
apparaat.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'C'.•
Verwijder de koffiepadcassette (11) uit het•
apparaat.
Plaats de koffiepad in de koffiepadcassette•
(11).
- Plaats voor één kop de koffiepad in de
met '1' gemarkeerde zijde van de
koffiepadcassette (fig. C1).
- Plaats voor twee koppen de koffiepad in
de met '2' gemarkeerde zijde van de
koffiepadcassette (fig. C2).
Plaats de koffiepadcassette (11) in het•
apparaat met de koffiepad naar boven
gericht. Zorg ervoor dat de koffiepad niet
gaat schuiven.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) zo dicht•
mogelijk bij positie 'A' (zie pijl in fig. B).
Plaats de gewenste hoeveelheid koppen•
onder de koffiedispenser (8).
- Plaats voor één kop de kop onder beide
dispensermonden van de koffiedispenser.
- Plaats voor twee koppen één kop onder
de linkse dispensermond en één kop
onder de rechtse dispensermond van de
koffiedispenser.
Druk op de aan/uit-knop (1) om het•
apparaat in te schakelen. De "klaar voor
gebruik"-indicator (5) brandt rood.
Het apparaat begint met verwarmen.
Na het einde van het proces brandt de
"klaar voor gebruik"-indicator (5) groen.
Verricht een van de volgende stappen:•
- Druk voor één kop op de start/stop-
knop (2). Het apparaat begint met
koffie zetten. Druk nogmaals op de
start/stop-knop (2) om het proces te
onderbreken.
- Druk voor twee koppen op de start/
stop-knop (3). Het apparaat begint met
koffie zetten. Druk nogmaals op de
start/stop-knop (3) om het proces te
onderbreken.
Zet na het einde van het proces de•
vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'B'.

Druk op de aan/uit-knop (1) om het•
apparaat uit te schakelen.
Laat het apparaat volledig afkoelen.•
Voorkookfunctie
De voorkookfunctie zorgt ervoor dat het
apparaat in eerste instantie slechts een kleine
hoeveelheid water toevoert. Het koffiezetten
wordt na een korte onderbreking voortgezet.
Programmeren van de
koffiehoeveelheid (fig. A - C)
Het apparaat beschikt over een handige
functie voor het individueel programmeren
van de gewenste hoeveelheid koffie voor
beide start/stop-knoppen (2/3). U kunt de
koffiesterkte naar uw smaak aanpassen.
Let op: De programmeermodus is ongeveer
30 seconden actief na het indrukken van start/
stop-knop (2) of ongeveer 60 seconden na het
indrukken van start/stop-knop (3). Indien u
niet op de start/stop-knop (2/3) voordat de
koffiezetcyclus automatisch stopt, zal de maximale
hoeveelheid koffie geprogrammeerd worden.
Plaats de koffiepad in de koffiepadcassette•
(11). Plaats de koffiepadcassette (11) in het
apparaat. Zie het gedeelte "Koffie zetten
met koffiepads".
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) zo dicht•
mogelijk bij positie 'A' (zie pijl in fig. B).
Plaats één of twee grote koppen op de•
kophouder (14).
Druk op de aan/uit-knop (1) om het•
apparaat in te schakelen. De "klaar voor
gebruik"-indicator (5) brandt rood. Het
apparaat begint met verwarmen. Na het
einde van het proces brandt de "klaar voor
gebruik"-indicator (5) groen.
Houd de start/stop-knop (2/3) gedurende•
3-4 seconden ingedrukt totdat de "klaar
voor gebruik"-indicator (5) groen knippert.
De programmeermodus is actief. Het
apparaat begint met koffie zetten.
Indien de gewenste hoeveelheid koffie•
wordt verkregen, druk dan nogmaals op
dezelfde start/stop-knop (2/3). Het
apparaat stopt met koffie zetten. De tijd
voor koffie zetten wordt geprogrammeerd.
Druk voor het terugzetten van de koffie-•
hoeveelheid naar de fabrieksinstellingen op
de aan/uit-knop (1) om het apparaat uit te
schakelen.
Houd beide start/stop-knoppen (2/3)•
gedurende 3-4 seconden gelijktijdig ingedrukt
totdat alle indicatoren kort oplichten.
Noodopening voor
koffiepadcassette (fig. A & D)
Indien de vergrendelingskraag (7) na afkoeling
van het apparaat niet in een andere positie
kan worden gezet, moet de koffiepadcassette
(11) volgens de volgende procedure worden
verwijderd:
Steek een opengevouwen paperclip•
horizontaal in de opening (16) direct naast
de koffiepadcassette (11) en duw de
paperclip licht in de opening.
Water koken (fig. A - C)
Waarschuwing!
- Schakel voor montage of demontage het
apparaat uit en verwijder de netstekker uit
het stopcontact.
- Gebruik het apparaat niet voor het koken
van water met koffiepads in de
koffiepadcassette.
Vul het waterreservoir (12) met water tot•
de maximummarkering ("MAX") op de
waterniveau-indicator (13).
Plaats het waterreservoir (12) in het•
apparaat.
Zet de vergrendelingskraag (7) in positie 'C'.•
Zorg ervoor dat de koffiepadcassette (11)•
leeg is en zich in het apparaat bevindt.

Rinsing the appliance (fig. A - C)
The appliance must be rinsed if it has not been
used for a couple of days. Always start rinsing
the appliance directly after switching on in
order to decrease energy consumption.
Warning!
- Be careful with hot water and steam to
avoid burns. Hot steam can escape from
the coffee dispenser during the process.
- Before rinsing the appliance, make sure
that the water reservoir is placed in the
appliance.
Rinse the water reservoir (12).•
Fill the water reservoir (12) with water up•
to the maximum mark ("MAX") on the
water level indicator (13).
Place the water reservoir (12) into the•
appliance.
Insert the coffee pad cassette (11) into the•
appliance.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'A'.•
Place two large cups next to each other•
onto the cup tray (14).
Press the on/off button (1) to switch on•
the appliance.
Keep both start/stop buttons (2/3) pressed•
simultaneously to start the rinsing process.
The ready-to-brew indicator (5) lights red.
If the process is completed, set the locking•
collar (7) to position 'B'.
Cleaning the coffee dispenser filter
(fig. A)
The quality of the cream layer reduces when
the coffee dispenser filter is clogged by
calcium or coffee residue. The coffee dispenser
filter must be cleaned regularly.
Caution!
- If the two filters of the coffee dispenser
filter are pressed against each other,
replace the coffee dispenser filter.

Remove the dispenser cassette (9) from the•
appliance.
Remove the coffee dispenser filter (10)•
from the dispenser cassette (9).
Clean the coffee dispenser filter (10) in•
soapy water using a soft brush to remove
coffee residue.
Pour a small amount of descaling agent•
through the opening of the coffee
dispenser filter (10) to remove calcium.
Rinse the coffee dispenser filter (10) under•
running water.
Mount the coffee dispenser filter (10) to•
the dispenser cassette (9).
Mount the dispenser cassette (9) to the•
appliance.
Setting the water hardness range
(fig. A)
The appliance can be set to various water
hardness settings. The factory setting of the
water hardness is 4. Contact your waterworks
company or your local authorities for the water
hardness range in your area. If the water
hardness range in your area is lower than 4,
the water hardness setting can be changed to
reduce the number of times that the appliance
must be descaled.
Use the on/off button (1) to set the appliance•
to the water hardness in your area. Refer
to the table below to set the correct water
hardness range.

Press the on/off button (1) to switch off•
the appliance.
Keep the start/stop button (3) pressed for•
3-4 seconds until the descaling indicator (6)
flashes.
Press the start/stop button (3) to increase•
the water hardness range by one level.
(Range 4 is followed by range 1, etc.)
Briefly press the on/off button (1) to save•
the new water hardness range. If the on/
off button (1) is not pressed within ten
seconds, the appliance switches off
automatically without saving the setting.
Repeat the first two steps to check the•
water hardness range.
Descaling the appliance (fig. A - C)
The appliance must be descaled regularly. The
appliance has an automatic descaling indicator
which informs the user when descaling is
required.
Note: Damage caused by not regularly descaling
the appliance is not covered by the guarantee.
If the descaling indicator (6) flashes, the•
appliance must be descaled. It is still
possible to brew coffee.
If the descaling indicator (6) lights•
continuously, the descaling program is running.
The automatic descaling program of the
appliance is optimised to be used for 125 ml of
durgol®swiss espresso®. The product is used
undiluted, is highly effective and guarantees a
reliable descaling and therefore a long
operational life of the appliance. The descaling
agent is available from our service station.
Warning!
- Be careful when descaling the appliance to
prevent damage to furniture or clothing.
Place an empty pot (at least 1.2 l) under
the coffee dispenser (8) in such a way as to
prevent splashes.
Caution!
- Only use durgol®swiss espresso®in the
specified quantity to descale the appliance.
- Do not use vinegar or vinegar concentrate
to descale the appliance.
- Do not use citric acid to descale the
appliance.
Fill the empty water reservoir (12) with•
durgol®swiss espresso®(125 ml) added
with fresh water (0,8 l).
Place the water reservoir (12) into the•
appliance.
Insert the empty coffee pad cassette (11)•
into the appliance.

Set the locking collar (7) to position 'A'.•

Press the start/stop button (2/3) to start•
the first rinsing cycle.
After approximately 2 minutes, the first•
rinsing cycle is completed. The low-water
indicator (4) flashes yellow.
Empty the pot and place it back under the•
coffee dispenser (8).
Fill the empty water reservoir (12) with•
fresh water (1 l). The ready-to-brew
indicator (5) flashes green.
Press the start/stop button (2/3) to start•
the second rinsing cycle.
After approximately 2 minutes, the second•
rinsing cycle is completed. The descaling
process is completed. The appliance
switches off automatically.
After descaling the appliance, clean the•
dispenser cassette (9), the coffee dispenser
filter (10) and the coffee pad cassette (11)
in soapy water using a soft brush.

Initial use
Preparation
Clean the coffee pad cassette and the•
ground coffee cassette in soapy water.
Clean the dispenser cassette and the coffee•
dispenser filter in soapy water.
Clean the water reservoir and the lid of the•
water reservoir in soapy water.

soapy water.

Deventilation (fig. A & B)
The appliance must be deventilated before
first use. Deventilation is only required for new
appliances.
Caution!
- Only fill the water reservoir with fresh cold
water. Do not use carbonated water or
other liquids to fill the water reservoir.
- Do not exceed the maximum mark ("MAX")
when you fill the water reservoir.
- Do not interrupt the deventilation cycles,
do not remove the water reservoir and do
not remove the mains plug from the wall
socket in order to prevent a necessary
restart of the deventilation process.
Fill the water reservoir (12) with water up•
to the maximum mark ("MAX") on the
water level indicator (13).
Place the water reservoir (12) into the•
appliance.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'B'.•
Insert the empty coffee pad cassette (11)•
in the appliance.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'A'.•
Note: If the coffee pad cassette is not inserted,
the locking collar cannot be set to position 'A'.
Place the drip tray (15) into the bottom of•
the appliance.
Place the cup tray (14) onto the drip tray (15).•
Place two large cups next to each other•
onto the cup tray (14).
Press the on/off button (1) to switch on•
the appliance.
Briefly press the start/stop button (2/3) to•
start the deventilation. During start-up, the
number of rinsing cycles required is
established electronically. If several rinsing
cycles are required, the process will be
aborted every 45 seconds and the ready-to-
brew indicator (5) will flash green. If
necessary, empty the cups and press the
start/stop button (2/3) again. The start/
stop button (2/3) will light red when the
appliance has been rinsed sufficiently. The
water is heated until the start/stop button
(2/3) changes from red to green.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'B'.•
Making coffee with coffee pads
(fig. A - C)
Use conventional coffee pads with an outer
diameter of 7 cm.
Warning!
- Before assembly or disassembly, switch off
the appliance and remove the mains plug
from the wall socket.
Caution!
- Do not use the following types of coffee pads:
- coffee pads with an outer diameter
smaller than 7 cm;
- hard coffee pads for espresso makers;
- coffee pads with additives for cappuccino,
etc.
- Do not put damaged coffee pads, loose
ground coffee or instant coffee into the
coffee pad cassette.
Caution!
- Follow the instructions below to put coffee
pads into the coffee pad cassette:
- Use the side marked '1' on the coffee
pad cassette for one cup of coffee.
Use the side marked '2' on the coffee
pad cassette for two cups of coffee.
- Lightly tap the coffee pad with your
fingertips to evenly distribute the ground
coffee in the coffee pad. Make a small
indentation in the centre of the coffee
pad.
- Put asymmetrical coffee pads in the
appliance with the flat side down.

- If you use two coffee pads at the same
time, firmly press the first coffee pad
into the recess of the coffee pad cassette
with the paper edge facing upwards.
Subsequently, put the second coffee pad
into the coffee pad cassette according to
the instructions above.
Fill the water reservoir (12) with water up•
to the maximum mark ("MAX") on the
water level indicator (13).
Place the water reservoir (12) into the•
appliance.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'C'.•
Remove the coffee pad cassette (11) from•
the appliance.
Put the coffee pad in the coffee pad•
cassette (11).
- For one cup, put the coffee pad in the
side marked '1' on the coffee pad
cassette (fig. C1).
- For two cups, put the coffee pads in the
side marked '2' on the coffee pad
cassette (fig. C2).
Insert the coffee pad cassette (11) into the•
appliance with the coffee pad upwards.
Make sure that the coffee pad does not
shift.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'A' as•
close as possible (see arrow in fig. B).
Place the required amount of cups under•
the coffee dispenser (8).
- For one cup, place the cup under both
dispenser nozzles of the coffee
dispenser.
- For two cups, place one cup under the
left dispenser nozzle and one cup under
the right dispenser nozzle of the coffee
dispenser.
Press the on/off button (1) to switch on•
the appliance. The ready-to-brew indicator
(5) lights red. The appliance starts heating.
If the process is completed, the ready-to-
brew indicator (5) lights green.
Take one of the following actions:•
- For one cup, press the start/stop button
(2). The appliance starts making coffee.
To interrupt the process, press the start/
stop button (2) again.
- For two cups, press the start/stop button
(3). The appliance starts making coffee.
To interrupt the process, press the start/
stop button (3) again.
If the process is completed, set the locking•
collar (7) to position 'B'.
Press the on/off button (1) to switch off•
the appliance.
Allow the appliance to cool down completely.•
Pre-brewing function
The pre-brewing function makes sure that the
appliance initially only supplies a small quantity
of water. The coffee-making process continues
after a short interval.
Programming the coffee quantity
(fig. A - C)
The appliance features a convenient function for
programming the required quantity of coffee
individually for both start/stop buttons (2/3).
You can change the coffee strength according
to your taste.
Note: The programming mode is active for
approximately 30 seconds after pressing start/
stop button (2) or approximately 60 seconds
after pressing start/stop button (3). If you do
not press the start/stop button (2/3) before
the brewing cycle stops automatically, the
maximum coffee quantity will be programmed.
Put the coffee pad in the coffee pad•
cassette (11). Insert the coffee pad cassette
(11) into the appliance. Refer to the
section "Making coffee with coffee pads".
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'A' as•
close as possible (see arrow in fig. B).
Place one or two large cups onto the cup•
tray (14).
Press the on/off button (1) to switch on•
the appliance. The ready-to-brew indicator
(5) lights red. The appliance starts heating.
If the process is completed, the ready-to-
brew indicator (5) lights green.
Keep the start/stop button (2/3) pressed for•
3-4 seconds until the ready-to-brew indicator
(5) flashes green. The programming mode is
active. The appliance starts making coffee.
If the required coffee quantity is obtained,•
press the same start/stop button (2/3)
again. The appliance stops making coffee.
The brewing time is programmed.

To restore the coffee quantity to the factory•
settings, press the on/off button (1) to
switch off the appliance.
Keep both start/stop buttons (2/3) pressed•
simultaneously for 3-4 seconds until all
indicators light briefly.
Emergency opening for coffee pad
cassette (fig. A & D)
If the locking collar (7) cannot be set to another
position after the appliance has cooled down,
the coffee pad cassette (11) must be removed
according to the following procedure:
Insert a straightened paper clip horizontally•
into the opening (16) directly next to
coffee pad cassette (11) and slightly press
the paper clip into the opening.
Boiling water (fig. A - C)
Warning!
- Before assembly or disassembly, switch off
the appliance and remove the mains plug
from the wall socket.
- Do not use the appliance for boiling water
with coffee pads in the coffee pad cassette.
Fill the water reservoir (12) with water up•
to the maximum mark ("MAX") on the
water level indicator (13).
Place the water reservoir (12) into the•
appliance.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'C'.•
Make sure that the coffee pad cassette•
(11) is empty and inserted in the appliance.
Set the locking collar (7) to position 'D'.•
Place the required amount of cups under•
the coffee dispenser (8).
- For one cup, place the cup under both
dispenser nozzles of the coffee dispenser.
- For two cups, place one cup under the
left dispenser nozzle and one cup under
the right dispenser nozzle of the coffee
dispenser.
Press the on/off button (1) to switch on•
the appliance. The ready-to-brew indicator
(5) lights red. The appliance starts heating.
If the process is completed, the ready-to-
brew indicator (5) lights green.

Economic brewing function
If you want to switch off the appliance after
one brewing cycle, the economic brewing
function can be activated automatically. To
activate the economic brewing function, press
the on/off button (1) until the ready-to-brew
indicator (5) lights green, then keep the on/off
button (1) and both start/stop buttons (2/3)
pressed simultaneously. The ready-to-brew
indicator (5) flashes red to indicate that the
appliance will switch off automatically.
Stand-by mode
If the appliance is not used for more than
approximately 5 minutes, the stand-by mode is
activated automatically. The ready-to-brew
indicator (5) flashes red. To activate the appliance
for use, press the start/stop button (2/3) again.
Automatic switch-off function
The appliance switches off automatically if it is
has not been used for a period of 30 minutes.
