As shown above, connect the antenna cable to the socket(s) using a balun transformer attached

1.INSERTING BATTERIES INTO THE REMOTE CONTROL
• Insert two AA/R6/UM-3 dry cell batteries into the battery compartment at the back of the
remote,observingthe(+)and(-)polarities.
• Donotuseacombinationofanoldandanewbatteryorapairofbatteries,differentbytype.
• Iftheremotecontroloperateserratically,replacethebatterieswithanewset.

11. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
1. UnplugyourTVsetfromthewalloutletbeforecleaning.
2. Donot useattachments notrecommended bythe companyas theymay causefire orelectric
shock.
3. Slots & openings in the cabinet and at the back or bottom of theTV set are provided for
ventilation. To ensure reliable operation of the TV set and to protect it from overheating,
theseopeningsshouldnotbeblocked.
4. DonotallowanythingtorestontheTVcord.
5. IfanoutsideantennaisconnectedtotheTVset,besurethattheantennasystemisgrounded.
Theantennashouldnotbelocatedinthevicinityofoverheadpowerlines.
6. ForaddedprotectiontotheTVsetduringalightningstorm,orwhenitisleftunattended,not
usedforlongperiodsoftime,unplugitfromthewalloutlet&disconnecttheantenna.
7. Donotattempttoservicethesetyourselfasopeningorremovingthecovermayexposeyouto
dangerousvoltagesorotherhazards.Referallservicingtoqualifiedservicepersonnelonly.
8. The Service Adjustment Controls are factory aligned and are to be used exclusively by
qualifiedservicepersonnel.Donottamper.
ThefollowingarenotcausedbyTVmalfunctions:
• WhenyoutouchtheCRT(Cathode RayTube)Surface,youmightfeelslightchargeofstatic
electricity. This is because the CRT contains static electricity : it does not affect the human
body.
• Duetoalteration ofambienttemperature,acrackingsound mightbeheardfrom theTVset;
thereisnoproblemunlessthepicture,soundisabnormal.
• Whenastillbrightimage(whitedress,forexample)appearsonthescreen,theimagemightbe
discoloured.ThisproblemoccursinallCRTs.Asthebrightimagedisappears,suchcoloration
alsodisappears.
• Sometimes there could be a picture jump, noise in the picture and sound or some strange
disturbanceinpictureandsoundcausedduetoelectricalappliances,tubelights,etc.Thiswill
normallybeatemporarycondition.

SWAP
PressSwapkeyatacertainchannelnumbertotogglebetweenthepreviouslyviewedchanneland
thepresentone.
SLEEPTIMER
Press the key repeatedly to set up the time in increments of 15 minutes up to a limit of 120
minutes.Settingitupputsthetelevisionintothestandbymodeattheendofthetimesetup.
MUTE
Pressthemutekeytoreducethevolumeleveltohalfthevolumelevel.Pressingitagainmakesthe
soundinaudible.
PICTUREMUTE
The picture goes off with the press of this key, leaving the audio on. Alarm lamp on the front
panelblinkstoindicatethatthefeatureison.
MAGICEYE
Press the key to activate this feature so that the screen automatically adjusts to an optimum
picturesettingaccordingtothelightingconditionsofyourroom.
Note:PressingtheVSMkeyswitchesthedigitaleyeoff.
CHILDTIMER
You need not bother about TV viewing of your child when you are away/out of home. Just set
ChildTimerfeatureON.PressChildTimerkey.
• Press4repeatedly (at the desired channel you wish your child should watch) to set the
viewingtimeinincrementsof5minutesuptoalimitof120minutes.
• Press6keyandthen4keytochangetheVSMsettingsasdesired.
• Press 6key and then4key to set the maximum volume you want your child to hear the
programat.
• Press‘Menu’keytoactivateCHILDTIMER.
Oncetheset timehaselapsed,youset willswitchOFFautomatically.WhenyouswitchONthe
setitwillaskyouforpassword.
Note: No keys on the remote except (Power and Volume) will work, when child timer is
activated.
SWAPTIMER
To avoid viewing advertisements, press the Swap Timer key to get a screen indicating Timer
Return.PressSwapTimerkey to setthe time inincrements of30seconds. Havingsetthe time,
you may now move to any other channel. After the time lapses, the picture switches to the
channeloriginallybeingviewed.
Note:Tocometotheoriginalchannelprematurely,simplypresstheSwapTimerkeyonce.

4. INSTALLATION
1.TURNINGYOURTVON
• EnsurethatthesetispluggedonandpressthemainpowerbuttonontheTVtoswitchtheTV
ON.Thepowerlamponthefrontpanelglows.
• If no image appears on the screen after 20 secs., your TV is in stand by mode. Press the
POWER button on the remote control or CHANNEL (or CHANNEL +/-) keys or
anyofthenumerickeystoswitchtheTVON.
• To switch theTV off, press the power button on the remote. TheTV is switched to standby
mode.Toturn theTV'smain poweroff,pressthe mainpower buttonon theTV.The power
indicatorlampstopsglowingtoindicatepowerhasbeenturnedoff.
2. SEARCHINGFOR&STORINGTVCHANNELS
You must first store stations to channels in order to view a TV Program Press ‘MENU’ and
press4fourtimes.
AutoTune
YoucanautomaticallystoreallTVstationstochannelsonyour
TVbyonesimpleoperation.
• Afterabovementionedoperation,press6toselect‘AUTO
TUNE’(Fig4.1)
• Press4keytostart‘AUTOTUNE’
• Changing channel numbers and frequency bar appear on
screentoindicatetheprogressoftuningprocess.

remote.

10. FEATURES ON REMOTE
COLOURTONE
KeeppressingthiskeytosetthecolourtonetoNORMAL,COOLorWARMaccordingtoyour
preference.Thetonechangesfrompinktoblue;atNormal,itisrestoredtonormal.
ZOOM
Press ZOOM key to set the picture to ZOOM, WIDE or NORMAL. The picture stretches
vertically in the ZOOM mode.This feature is helpful in viewing the picture closely, especially
whenitisincinemascopeformat.
Note:Inthezoommode,thepicturemaygetcutatthetopandatthebottom.
STANDBY/POWER
When the set is in STANDBY mode, you may press the STANDBY/POWER key to put it on.
To have it work the other way round and put the set back into the standby mode, press the
STANDBY/POWERkeyonceagain.
VIDEOSTATUSMEMORY(PICTUREMODE)
You canselect oneof thefivepictureadjustment modesbyrepeatedlypressingVSMkey onthe
remotecontrol.(Fig10.1)
SSM(Soundmode)
YoucanselectfivetypessoundadjustmentsbypressingSSMkey.

Note: In Video mode, user can access TV channels by pressing NUMERIC Keys. However

You can view images from VCR’s or other external devices connected to your TV. Refer to Fig
2.1,Pg.3,forexternaldevicesconnections.
• PressTV/AV key on the remote control unit to select the video mode. ‘AV’ mode should be
selected for watching VCR/VCP/VCD/DVD player. To select ‘AV’ mode using the front
controlbuttonsontheTVrepeatthefollowingsteps.
• Pressthe‘MENU’keyonthefrontcontrolpanel.
• Select'INPUT'by usingCHANNEL5/6andchangeviewing modesbyusingVOLUME
+/-keys.

BLUEBACK
If no signal is being received by the set, you can set the screen to display a pleasant blue colour
backgroundinsteadofthevideonoisebyselecting‘BLUE-BACK’.
• Inthe‘FEATURES’submenu,use6keytoscrolldownto‘BLUEBACK’.
• Pressingthe3/4keyswilltoggle‘BLUEBACK’ONorOFF.
AUTOOFF
InTV mode, if no signal is received by the set for 10 minutes,
you can set the TV to shut off automatically in the ‘AUTO
OFF/ON’.
• In the ‘FEATURES’ submenu, use 6key to scroll down to
‘AUTOOFF’.
• Pressing3/4keys will toggle ‘AUTO OFF’ between ON
andOFF.
HOTELMODE
This mode helps is freezing the volume at its present value. Tuning control also turns
inaccessible.
• Press6keytoselectHOTELMODE
• Press4key. You will be asked for a password. On entering the password, ‘HOTEL MODE’
willbeactivated.
DNR(DIGITALNOISEREDUCTION)

Press the 'MENU' key. Press 4key once to view the SOUND MENU
VOL-LOCK
The sound volume can be fixed at a certain maximum level beyond which the level will not
rise further.
• Select 'VOL-LOCK' by pressing 3/4key. You will be asked for a password.
• Enter the password. Volume Lock will be effective.
SOUND-SYS
You can select the sound system by pressing 3/4key
BG, SUB-BG, I, DK/K1
• You can change low frequency response of audio by
varying Bass control by using 3/4key.
• You can change high frequency response of audio by
varying TREBLE control by using 3/4key.
• You can change Balance between the two speakers by
varying BALANCE control by using 3/4key. Fig. 7.1

• By pressing 3/4key, it will help you shift between
AM/PM.
• Bypressingnumerickeystimecanbeinput.
• By pressing DISP key clock will be displayed on theTV
screen.BypressingDISPoncemore,clockwilldisappear.
• IfMainPowerisswitchedoff,theclockwillstop.
