RECOMMENDED BASIC REGULAR MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Your ONYX Motorbike will last you forever if you properly service and maintain it. However, the frequency of your service
checks and part replacements will vary depending on how much
fun
you have with your ONYX Motorbike. Under normal
circumstances, check and adjust your ONYX according to the schedule below at minimum:
Always take note of any component wear such as cracks, scratches, or changes in color or operation. These
changes may indicate that a part needs to be serviced or replaced. If the useful life of a component is
surpassed it can cause unexpected loss of function, which can result in damage, serious injury, or even
death.
BEFORE Every Ride
At minimum, do the following on your bike before every ride:
AFTER Every Ride
At minimum, do the following on your bike after every ride:
oCheck the Headlight, Tail Light, & Any Other Installed
Lighting for Proper Operation
oCheck Tire Rotation –Should Spin Smooth & Straight
oCheck Tire Pressure (32 psi F&R)
oCheck Front & Rear Brake Operation
oCheck Battery Charge Level
oCheck & Torque Fork, Axle, Handlebar, and Suspension
Nuts (see RCR or CTY Torque Specs Table)
oWipe Down & Dry Frame & Rest of Bike Parts Using a
Soft Cloth
oCarefully Check Tires for Any Debris
oIf Storing Outside, Cover The Bike, Install Lock, & Set
Alarm
oCheck Basic Care Items (see Basic Care)
1 Month (or 30 Hours)
After you have had 1 month (or 30 hrs) of fun, do all of the
following:
6 Months (or 100 Hours)
After you have had 6 months (or 100 hrs) of great times, do all of
the 1 Month Service items as well as all of the following:
oCheck & Adjust Front & Rear Brake
oCheck Front Brake Fluid Level (DOT3)
oCheck Battery Strap to Make Sure Battery Is Secure
oLube Bicycle Chain & Freewheel
oCheck Rear Wheel & Motor Alignment
oCheck & Adjust Bicycle Chain Tension
oLube Rear Brake Cable
oInspect & Clean Frame
oCheck Rear Hub Motor Cable Condition and Clearance
oLube All Moving Parts & Bearings
12 Months (or 200 Hours)
After you have had 12 months (or 200 hrs) of awesome journeys, do
all of the 6 Month Service items as well as all of the following:
24 Months (or 400 Hours)
You and your bike have been through a lot. After you have had 24
months (or 400 hrs) of amazing adventures, do all of the 12 Month
Service items as well as all of the following:
oCheck Battery Connections
oCheck Tire Tread Depth
oChange Alarm Key Fob Battery
oCheck Tightness of ALL Nuts and Bolts (see RCR or CTY
Torque Specs Table)
oChange Front Brake Fluid (DOT3)
oChange Front Brake Pads
oChange Rear Brake Pads
oCheck & True Front and Rear Wheel Rims
