WARNING: To reduce risk of battery
explosion, before using this battery, you must
read and understand all the instructions and
safety markings in this instruction manual, as
well as cautionary markings on battery packs,
battery charger and the product using the
battery packs. Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire, and/or serious injury.
• This battery pack is not intended for
use by persons, including children, with
reduced physical, sensory, or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use
of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may
become ejected from the battery; avoid
contact. If contact accidentally occurs,
flush affected body part with water. If
liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
• Battery pack that has ejected liquid
should be disposed of properly.
• Do not use a battery pack that is

Charging
CAUTION: To reduce risk of injury
from chemical hazards, electric shock, and
fire, charge this battery pack only with
Oregon V Professional Series charger.
Failure to follow proper charging procedures
may result in excessive voltage or current flow,
loss of control during charging, hazardous
chemical leakage, overheating, bursting, or fire.
• Follow all charging instructions and do
not charge the battery outside of the
temperature range specified in these
instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside of the specified
range may damage the battery and
increase the risk of fire.
• Do not recharge the battery in a closed-
in, non-ventilated area.
• Make sure the charging plug is correctly
mated to the battery receptacle.
Use
CAUTION: When using the battery
in the BLVX or other tool on which the
battery is mounted, verify the latch firmly
holds the battery in place before using the
tool.
CAUTION: When using the battery
in an Oregon V Professional Series
backpack, verify the zipper is fully closed
to ensure the battery is secured in the
backpack.
CAUTION: Do not lift the battery via
the cable attached to the battery.
CAUTION: If the battery pack is
subjected to complete immersion in liquid,
discontinue use and dispose of properly.
• The Oregon models BX and BX
rechargeable lithium ion batteries are
exclusively used as a power supply for
the relevant Oregon V Professional
Series tools, implements, and appliances.
To avoid injury, the batteries must not be
used as a power source for other devices.
• This battery is intended to be used
only in an Oregon V Professional
Series backpack or on an Oregon V
Professional Series tool, implement,
or appliance that latches the battery
securely in place.
• Grasp the plug to remove the cable from
the battery. Do not pull on the cord.
• Inspect the cable being used with the
battery before inserting. Do not use a
damaged cable with the battery.
Storage
• Remove the battery from the tool before
storing or transporting.
• Store in a cool, dry place. Do not expose
the battery pack to excessive heat, such
as the interior of a vehicle in hot weather.
Exposure to excessive heat can cause a loss
in performance and/or service life.
• When the battery pack is not in use, keep
it away from other metal objects, like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or
other small metal objects that can make a
connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a fire.
• To prolong battery life, never store
battery pack in a completely discharged
condition.
Maintenance
WARNING: Do not steam clean the
battery. Temperatures may be high enough
to cause explosion or fire.
CAUTION: Do not use solvents or
spray cleaners on the battery contacts.
Recommended cleaning of the battery
terminals is with an air gun.

from the tool before performing any
maintenance or cleaning of the battery

Operation
Operation
Charging the Battery
• Set up an Oregon V Professional Series charger in a dry, indoor location that allows
airflow and is free of dirt and debris.
• Connect the AC power cord of the charger to the AC inlet on the charger.
• Plug the AC power cord of the charger into a grounded wall outlet. Note: The charger’s LED
indicator will show a power-on blink sequence and then turn off.
• Connect the DC plug to the battery.
• Allow battery to charge.
Approximate charging times
BX: to capacity ~ min.
BX: to capacity ~ min.
• During charging, the LED on the battery that indicates the next level of charge will flash. LEDs
below that level will stay lighted until the battery is fully charged. When the battery is fully charged,
all LEDs will go off and the LED on the charger will change from flashing green to solid green.
• IMPORTANT: If, during charging, the ambient temperature is not within the charging
temperature range, the battery may stop charging and will not start again until the charger is
reset. To reset the charger, disconnect the charger from the battery, allow the indicator on the
charger to turn off, and reconnect the charger to the battery.
• Disconnect battery from charger upon reaching the desired charge.
Using the Battery
• Due to shipping regulations, the battery is shipped with a partial charge. It is recommended to
fully charge the battery before first use.
• Check the battery charge state by pressing and releasing the battery indicator button. Verify it has
sufficient charge.
• Place the battery in the V Professional Series backpack, tool, implement, or appliance.
• Insert the black plug from the tool electrical cord into the battery socket. Verify it is fully seated.
• Fully close the zippers on the backpack or ensure the battery is latched in place in the tool.
• During use, the battery charge state and any faults will be indicated on the tool dashboard. Please
refer to the tool instruction manual for further information.
Useful Tips
TO OPTIMIZE RUNTIME:
• Store the battery within the recommended temperature range.
• Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight for an extended period of time.
• Recharge the battery at the end of every workday even if it was not fully discharged.
• Before long-term storage, the battery charge state should show the green LED or green LED
indication. If not, charge or discharge the battery to that state before storing.
TO IMPROVE BATTERY RELIABILITY:

10 Battery Models BX975 and BX650
Operation
• Do not use the handle to hang the battery for storage.
• Secure the battery from excessive shifting during transportation.
• On an open trailer, orient the battery socket to the rear of the trailer to avoid damage to the socket
during travel.
During normal use, the internal cells of the battery generate heat in addition to warm or hot
working conditions. This could cause the battery to be above the charging temperature when
plugged in for charging. To start charging sooner, place the battery and charger in a cool location
with air flow around the battery.
Batteries stored in cold locations may need to be warmed to begin charging. For a battery that is
below charging temperature, warm in a heated space but do not place directly in front of a heat
source.
