Orisec Wi-Fi Module Installation guide

Introduction
The Orisec Wi-Fi Module is fully compatible with the Orisec CP-25, CP-50 and CP-100 control
panels when used with an Orisec ZX-5C.
The Orisec Wi-Fi Module provides local and remote connections for the Orisec UDL, Orisec
Apps and Orisec Web Browser Sessions via the internet.
Installation
Connecting the Wi-Fi Module
1. ZX-5C plugged onto control panel
2. Wi-Fi Module; plug onto one of the 4 available slots on the ZX-5C
3. Wi-Fi antenna connector; for polymer control panels use the internal PCB antenna
and for metal control panels use the external antenna

Internal Wi-Fi Antenna for Polymer Panels
Peel off the self-adhesive backing and stick the PCB antenna to the right-hand side of the
enclosure. Connect the antenna cable to the Wi-Fi Module antenna socket.
External Wi-Fi Antenna for Metal Panels
Knock out the right-hand antenna hole then fit the retaining clip to the antenna, feed the
cable throught the hole and push into place. Connect the antenna cable to the Wi-Fi Module
antenna socket.

Programming the Orisec Wi-Fi Module
Scanning available networks
1. Enter engineers code
*At default the Orisec control panels are set for full compliance with EN5013-1 and
PD6662:2017 and may request a user to authorise engineers access.
2. Tests & Diagnostics - press E or R arrow to enter the menu.
3. Navigate to ‘Wi-Fi status & checks’ (option 7) and press E or R arrow to enter
the menu.
4. Press C to scan for available networks, once the required network has been found,
press E.
This will insert the SSID (Service Set Identifier) into the Wi-Fi setup menu (see ‘programming’)

Programming for the Orisec Wi-Fi Module
1. Enter engineers code
*At default the Orisec control panels are set for full compliance with EN5013-1 and
PD6662:2017 and may request a user to authorise engineers access.
2. Programming menu - press E or R arrow to enter the menu.
3. Navigate to ‘Coms Modules’ (option 14) and press E or R arrow to enter the
menu.
4. Scroll down to ‘Wi-Fi settings’ press E or R arrow to enter the menu.
5. Enter the following information:
SSID = enter the routers SSID (if scanned previously this will already be populated)
Password = The password for the router
Address = Local IP address for the network (i.e. 192.168.1.75)
Port = Port number for the Orisec Wi-Fi Module (i.e. 20000)

2. Tests & diagnostics - press E or R arrow to enter the menu.
3. Navigate to ‘View module status’ (option 6) and press E or R arrow to enter
the menu.
4. Scroll across to ‘Wi-Fi’ status. The screen will show one of the following;
Status: Not fitted
Status: Initialising
Status: Ready
Status: In Fault

Not fitted
The Orisec Wi-Fi Module is not fitted or not being seen by the ZX-5C, check the physical
connection.
Initialising
The Orisec Wi-Fi Module is in the initialising stage, once configuration has been saved this will
change to ‘Ready’.
Ready
The Orisec Wi-Fi Module is Ready for use with the Orisec UDL, Orisec Apps and Orisec web
Browser.
In Fault
The Orisec Wi-Fi Module is in fault, check to ensure all settings are correct and the aerial is
not damaged.
