Battery
• We re ommend using the batteries noted
on page 3. USE ONLY re hargeable
Ni-MH batteries AAA (R03) size.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not open or mutilate the batteries.
Released ele trolyte from the batteries is
orrosive and may ause burns or injury to
the eyes or skin. The ele trolyte is toxi and
may be harmful if swallowed.
• Exer ise are when handling the batteries.
Do not allow ondu tive materials su h as
rings, bra elets, or keys to tou h the
batteries, otherwise a short ir uit may
ause the batteries and/or the ondu tive
material to overheat and ause burns.
• Charge the batteries provided with or
identified for use with this produ t only, in
a ordan e with the instru tions and
limitations spe ified in this manual.
• Only use a ompatible base unit (or
harger) to harge the batteries. Do not
tamper with the base unit (or harger).
Failure to follow these instru tions may
ause the batteries to swell or explode.

injury to persons, in luding the following:
1. Do not use this produ t near water for
example, near a bathtub, washbowl,
kit hen sink, or laundry tub, in a wet
basement or near a swimming pool.
2. Avoid using a telephone (other than a
ordless type) during an ele tri al storm.
There may be a remote risk of ele tri
sho k from lightning.
3. Do not use the telephone to report a gas
leak in the vi inity of the leak.
4. Use only the power ord and batteries
indi ated in this manual. Do not dispose of
batteries in a fire. They may explode.

Base unit location/avoiding noise
The base unit and other ompatible Panasoni
units use radio waves to ommuni ate with
ea h other.
• For maximum overage and noise-free
ommuni ations, pla e your base unit:
- at a onvenient, high, and entral
lo ation with no obstru tions between
the handset and base unit in an indoor
environment.
- away from ele troni applian es su h as
TVs, radios, personal omputers,
wireless devi es, or other phones.
- fa ing away from radio frequen y
transmitters, su h as external antennas
of mobile phone ell stations. (Avoid
putting the base unit on a bay window or
near a window.)
• Coverage and voi e quality depends on the
lo al environmental onditions.
• If the re eption for a base unit lo ation is
not satisfa tory, move the base unit to
another lo ation for better re eption.
Environment
• Keep the produ t away from ele tri al noise
generating devi es, su h as fluores ent
lamps and motors.
• The produ t should be kept free from
ex essive smoke, dust, high temperature,
and vibration.
• The produ t should not be exposed to
dire t sunlight.
• Do not pla e heavy obje ts on top of the
produ t.
• When you leave the produ t unused for a
long period of time, unplug the produ t from
the power outlet.
