If you read nothing else, this info is essential:
§ Connect directly from the guitar to the pedal. A
quirk of this type of circuit is its need to be connected directly to
the guitar to operate as intended. The low input impedance loads
your pickups, creating a dynamic between your guitar and the
pedal that this type of circuit is known for. !

§ Placing any device, including buffers in buffered bypass pedals,
between the guitar and pedal will work just fine, but will alter
the pedals intended operation. Feel free to try and see how it
works for you, but we strongly recommend keeping it first in
your chain.!
§ Buffers and other pedals placed AFTER the pedal, and true
bypass pedals in bypass mode placed in front, will not affect this
pedal’s operation. !

§ The!center!toggle!position!is!the!classic!treble!booster!frequency!
(about!2.8!kHz).!!The!high!and!low!position!frequencies!are!set!by!
internal!switches!for!each!position.!!Default!settings!are!2.2!kHz!in!
the!high!position!and!1.5!kHz!in!the!low!position.!
