Software User License Agreement
You are licensed to legally use this software program (“the Software”) by Pen-
power Technology Ltd (“Penpower”) under this license agreement (“The Agree-
ment”). If you do not agree with any of the provisions in this Agreement, please do
not install, copy or use the Software. By using the Software, you are deemed to fully
understand and accept the provisions of this Agreement.
1. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Software, together with all information and
documents included in the packaging for the Software (including but not limited
to copyrights), are property of Penpower or have been licensed to Penpower, and
are protected by relevant laws and regulations.
2. License to Use
You are authorized to use the Software on one (1) single computer only. You may
not use the Software on any other machines other than the said single computer.
3. Authority to Copy
The Software and all documents included with the Software, and copyright
thereof, are property of Penpower. You are licensed to make one (1) copy of the
Software for your personal backup purposes. All other acts of copying are strictly
prohibited. The backup copy shall not be installed nor used while the Software is
being used.
You may not sell, lease, dissemble, reverse engineer, copy, translate, adapt or de-
rive the Software, or obtain the source code of the Software by any other means.
You may not use the Software for any purposes other than those permitted under
this Agreement.
4. Business Users
If you need to install or use the Software on more than one (1) computer, please
contact Penpower or our local distributor to purchase a license for the additional
use.

5. Liability
You agree to indemnify Penpower against all losses, costs, debts, settlement pay-
ments or other expenses (including but not limited to attorneys fees) arising from
your breach of this Agreement, and you agree to compensate Penpower for all of
the abovementioned damages.
6. No Warranty
Effectiveness of a packaged software in handling information is closely related
to its software and hardware environment. The Software is published following
careful development and product testing by Penpower, but Penpower is not able
to conduct tests based on all possible combinations of software and hardware en-
vironment. Therefore, Penpower is unable to promise nor warrant that there will
be absolutely no risk of loss or damage of information, or any other kind of loss,
during installation and/or execution of the Software. You must be fully aware of
your risks in using the Software.
Penpower will provide you with the Software and support services in respect of
the Software to the maximum extent permitted by law. However, Penpower does
not warrant that the Software and information included in the package of the Soft-
ware contain no defects or errors. Penpower is not liable for any indirect, special
or incidental loss arising from the Software, including but not limited to loss of
prots, damage to business reputation, cessation of work, hardware malfunction
or damage, or any other commercial damage or loss arising from commercial use
of the Software.
7. Limitation of Liability and Damages
Except as expressly specied and expressly agreed to in writing by Penpower,
Penpower shall not be responsible for any damage incurred by you for any reason
under this Agreement, The maximum amount of compensation payable by Pen-
power, in respect of any damage incurred by you for any reason under this Agree-
ment, is limited to the amount you have already paid to Penpower in respect of
the Software.
Under no circumstances will Penpower be held liable for the possibility of loss,
notwithstanding Penpower may be aware of the possibility of such loss.

8. Prohibition Against Sublicense
You are prohibited to assign the license in respect of the Software granted to you
under this Agreement, or to grant a sublicense to another person.
9. Jurisdiction
With regards to any disputes arising from this Agreement, Penpower and you
agree that the court having jurisdiction over the business location of Penpower
will be the court in the rst instance.
10. Miscellaneous
In the event that any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid at law,
such invalidity will not affect the validity of any other provisions, or the legal en-
forceability of such other provisions.
In the event that the Software cannot be executed under conditions of normal use,
due to any damage to the original disk/s, Penpower will replace the disk/s free of
charge.
Automatic updates are set by default within this software. If new updates are
available, the automatic updates will download them and our server will record
your computer’s IP and MAC address along with the automatic updates.
Any information collected by us from your computer will be used exclusively for
the stated purpose, and will not be used for any other purpose.
This function of automatic updates can be disabled by clicking on the Settings
button and in the options panel ticking the box “Cancel Automatic update”.

Chapter 1 Product Overview
EZ Go lets you take the handwriting recognition software and your per-
sonal handwriting script information on the go. No need to install EZ Go
in any computer. All you need to do is to plug the EZ Go into the computer
and then you can use handwriting recognition immediately.

1.2 Product Feature
Plug and Write
No need to install EZ Go in any computer. All you need to do is plug the
EZ Go into the computer and then you can use handwriting recognition im-
mediately.
Asia all-in-one package
Recognize over 23,000 traditional and simplied Chinese characters, 4941
special Hong Kong characters, English letters, symbols, numbers, Japanese
Katakana and Hiragana.
Cursive writing and articial intelligence recognition kernel
No particular stroke order is required. Capable of recognizing extremely
cursive handwriting accurately. Highly adaptable to the uniqueness of your
handwriting and can be used as a personal handwriting system.
Slick and intuitive user interface
The toolbar and interface design provides an intuitive and personalized user
experience, enable quick access to frequently used functions. Two writing
interfaces for you to choose from: full-screen continual writing interface
and writing pad interface. Moreover, we also provide static mode in the
writing pad interface as another option.
Post-related word/phrase prediction
Integrate the functions of text prediction and user handwriting pattern
learning. The new function can provide you more predicted words, become
the smartest predictive text function corpus on the market. The predictive
text function will appear instantly right after your handwriting. Moreover,

your commonly used words and phrases will be learned and shown rst to
increase writing efciency.
Personal signature application
Your signature can be inserted into the Microsoft Word and Excel docu-
ments or Emails to send to others.
Work smart and play smart via handwriting
You can hand write text in Microsoft Office, email, MSN, Skype, QQ,
Facebook, Twitter and others.

2.1 USB Human Interface Device Installation
1. Windows 7/Vista/XP
2. 32 bit OS: At least 600MB of available hard disk space
64 bit OS: At least 1.5GB of available hard disk space
3. USB port
2.2 Hardware Connection
Plug the USB cable to the EZ Go and the USB port of your computer
to start to use EZ Go. If your computer was not installed [Microsoft .NET
Framework 4], the system will ask you whether you want to install [Micro-
soft .NET Framework 4] or not. Select [No] and the system will run the lite
version of EZ Go. Select [Yes] to install [Microsoft .NET Framework 4]
and run EZ Go normal version.
Note: 1. When rst time connecting your EZ Go to your computer, the
system may take some times to recognize it.
2. Sometimes, when you connect the EZ Go, the system may pop-
up a window to ask you restart your computer. Please ignore it.
3. If you ever installed Penpower Jr. serial products in your com-
puter before, the system may ask you whether you want to import
old information at the rst time connecting EZ Go to your com-
puter.

2.3 Launch EZ Go
After connecting your EZ Go to the USB port of your computer, the
handwriting system will be launched automatically.
Note: 1. If your Windows OS is Vista or higher version, the system will
display an AutoRun menu when the EZ Go is connected. Please
select [Run Launch.exe] to launch EZ Go handwriting system.
2. EZ Go contains two ash discs. The rst ash disc is [EZ Go].
It stores handwriting system program les. While the EZ Go is
connected to the computer for the rst time and the handwrit-
ing system doesn’t launch automatically, you can right-click on
this disk, select [Open], and then double-click on [Launch.exe]
to launch EZ Go manually. The second ash disc is for EZ Go
data. Please DO NOT format any disc to destroy the program
les or data.
Tips: When launching the EZ Go, the system will also open a Windows
Explorer and view the second ash disc. It can be also used as a
regular ash disc to store your data.
To close EZ Go handwriting system, please click button on the
toolbar and don’t unplug the tablet until the message as below disappears.
However, you can also keep connecting EZ Go with the computer after you
close the EZ Go system.
Tip: If you close the handwriting system with EZ Go still connected to
the computer and you want to use it again, you can double-click on
the short cut on the desktop to launch the EZ Go handwriting
system again.

2.4 Calibration
When you rst time launch the handwriting system, the system will ask
you to calibrate EZ Go.
Note: When calibrating EZ Go, please orient the touch tablet in land-
scape mode.
Tip 1 : You can select [Reset] to start the calibration again.
Tip 2 : After calibration, the new conguration would take effect imme-
diately. You do not need reboot or reload handwriting system.
1. Click on the top-left corner spot of touch tablet by the writing pen.
2. Click on the bottom-right corner spot of touch tablet by the writing pen.
3. Click on [OK] to nish the calibration.
In the future, if you nd that your handwriting on the screen is not on
the right location, you need to calibrate your EZ Go. Please click the menu
icon and select Settings/ Tablet setting/ Tablet calibration to launch
the calibration window.

3.1 Interface Introduction
EZ Go handwriting system provides two interfaces, Normal Verison
and Lite Version. If you have installed [Microsoft .NET Framework 4]
in your computer, the system will run EZ Go normal version. Instead, the
system will run EZ Go lite version automatically if you did not install [Mi-
crosoft .NET Framework 4] in your computer.

3.2 Handwriting Modes
EZ Go provides two handwriting modes: full screen handwriting mode
and writing pad handwriting mode.
Tip: For more information, please refer to Chapter 5.
3.2.1 Full Screen handwriting Mode
The full screen handwriting mode is the default writing mode in EZ Go
software. Open any word processor, for example Microsoft Word or Word-
Pad, and write a word on the writing tablet. You can see the stroke shown
on the screen. Select the word you want in the candidate words area with
your mouse and the word will display on the word processor immediately.
(1) While wring on the tablet,
the stroke will show on the
screen.
(2) The recognized words will
be listed in the candidate words
area. Select the word you want.

3.2.2 Writing Pad Mode
Besides the full screen writing mode, you can also select writing pad
mode. Click the writing pad button and the writing pad will appear.
Open any word processor, for example Microsoft Word or WordPad, and
write a word on the writing tablet. You can see the stroke shown on the
writing pad. Select the word you want in the candidate words area with
your mouse and the word will display on the word processor immediately.
(1) Click button to open the
writing pad.
(2) While wring on the tablet,
the stroke will show on the
wring pad.
(3) The recognized words will be
listed in the candidate words area.
Select the word you want.

3.3 Input Tool
Besides the handwriting function, EZ Go also provides input tools to
help users to input words, which includes Zhu yin, English, and Hanyu Pin-
yin keyboards. Open any word processor, for example Microsoft Word or
WordPad, and click the button to open the input tool. Select a phonetic
keyboard and click the phonetic button one by one in order. The recognized
words will be listed in the candidate words area. Select the word you want.
(1) Click button to open the input
tool.
(2) Select the word you want in
the candidate words area.
(3) The word will display on the
word processor.

3.4 Settings
Click the function menu button and select [Settings] which
includes [General setting], [Chinese output setting], [Recognition
setting], [Writing setting], [Tablet setting], and [Update setting].

3.5 Learning String
Click the function menu button and select [Learning String]. EZ
Go provides the function of using a simple symbol to represent a string of
characters to speed up inputting speed.

3.6 Custom Phrase
Click the function menu button and select [Custom Phrase].
There are thousands upon thousands default phrases that you can use in
the Penpower handwriting recognition. It also allows you to customize the
phrase database to meet your needs.

3.7 AI
Click the function menu button and select [AI]. Articial Intel-
ligence helps you to correct incorrect recognition character. It also learns
your handwriting style to improve the recognition rate.
