safetystandards,Thereare, however,someinstallationandoperation
precautionswhichyoushouldbeparticularlyawareof.
1. ReadInstructions-Allthesafetyandoperatinginstructionsshould
bereadbeforetheapplianceisoperated.
2. RetainInstructions- Thesafetyandoperatinginstructionsshould
beretainedforfuturereference.
3. HeedWarnings-Allwarningsontheapplianceandintheoperating
instructionsshouldbeadheredto.
4. FollowInstructions- Alloperatinganduseinstructionsshouldbe
followed.
8. WaterandMoisture- Theapplianceshouidnotbeusednearwater
- forexample,neara bathtub,washbowl,kitchensink,laundrytub,
inawetbasementornearaswimmingpool,etc.
6. CartsandStands- Theapplianceshouldbeusedonlywitha cartor
standthatisrecommendedbythemanufacturer.

withcare.Quickstops,excessiveforce,and uneven
surfacesmaycausetheapplianceandcartcombination
tooverturn.
8B. Till/Stability -All televisionsmustcomplywith recommended
internationalglobalsafetystandardsfor tiltandstabilityproperties
ofitscabinetdesign.
•Donotcompromisethesedesignstandardsbyapplyingexces-
sivepullforcetothefront,ortop,ofthecabinetwhichcould
ultimatelyoverturnthep_educt.
• Also,donotendangeryourself,orchildren,byplacingelec-
tronicequipment/toysonthetopofthecabinet.Suchitems
couldunsuspectinglytallfromthetopofthesetandcause
productdamageand/orpersonalinjury.
7. Wallor CeilingMounting- Theapplianceshouldbemountedtoa
wallorceilingonlyasrecommendedbythemanufacturer.
8. VanUlation- Theapplianceshouldbesituatedsothatitslocationor
positiondoesnotinterferewithitsproperventilation.Forexample,
theapplianceshouldnot besituatedona bed,sofa,rug,orsimilar
surfacethatmayblockthe ventilationopenings;or, placedin a
built-ininstallation,suchasa bookcaseorcabinetthatmayimpede
theflowofairthroughtheventilationopenings.
9. Heat- Theapplianceshouldbesituatedawayfrom heatsources
suchas radiators,heatregisters,stoves,or otherappliances
(includingamplifiers)thatproduceheat.
10. PowerSources- Theapplianceshouldbeconnectedto a power
supplyonlyofthetypedescribedintheoperatinginstructionsoras
markedontheapphance.
11. Power-CordProtection- Powersupplycordsshouldheroutedso
thattheyarenotlikelytobewalkedonor pinchedbyltemspiaead
uponor against them,payingparticularattentionto cordsand
plugs,conveniencereceptacles,andthepointwheretheyexitfrom
theappliance.
12. Cleaning-Theapplianceshouldbecleanedonlyas recommended
bythemanufacturer.
13. PowerLines- Anoutdoorantennashouldhelocatedawayfrom
powerlines.
14. OutdoorAntennaGrounding- Ifanoutsideantennaisconnectedto
the receiver,besuretheantennasystemisgroundedsoas to
providesomeprotectionagainstvoltagesurgesandbuiltupstatic
charges•
Section810 oftheNationalElectricCode,ANSI/NFPANo.70-1984,
providesinformationwithrespectto propergroundingofthemats
andsupportingstructuregroundingof the lead-inwireto an
antennadischargeunit,sizeofgroundingconnectors,locationof
antenna-dischargeunit,connectionto groundingelectrodesand
requirementsforthegroundingelectrode.SeeFig.below.
18. Non-use Periods - Thepower cordoftheapplianceshouldbe
unpluggedfromthe outletwhenleftunusedfor a longperiodof
time.
16. ObectandUquldEntry- Careshouldbetakensothatobectsdo
notfa and qu dsare not spilledintotheencosurethrough
openings.
17. DamageRequiringSorulce- Theapplianceshouldbeservicedby
qualifiedservicepersonnelwhen:
A. Thepowersupplycordortheptughasbeendamaged;or
6. Ohects havefallen, or liquid has beenspilled intothe
appliance;or
C. Theappliancehasbeenexposedtorain;or
D. Theappliancedoesnotappeartooperatenormallyor exhibits
amarkedchangeinperformance;or
E. Theappliancehasbeendropped,ortheenclosuredamaged.
18. Servicing- Theusershouldnotattemptto servicetheappliance
beyondthat describedin the operatinginstructions.AI/other
servicingshouldbereferredtoqualifiedservicepersonnel.
NotetotheCAWsysteminstaller:Thisreminderisprovidedtocallthe
CAWsysteminstaller'sattentionto Article820-40 oftheNEC that
providesguidelinesforpropergroundingand,inparticular,specifiesthat
thecablegroundshallbeconnectedto thegroundingsystemofthe
building,asclosetothepointofcableentryaspractical.
