CONNECTION CAUTION Switch off your stereo system before making any connection to avoid any
damage to your system. The PIEGA P-1 allows three different ways to be connected
to your stereo or Home Theater system.
- Connect the speaker outputs of your amplifier to the HIGH-LEVEL inputs
of the P-1. Then connect your main speakers to the HIGH LEVEL outputs
of the P-1. The High Pass filter has no effect using this connection.
-…Connect the ‘pre-out’ of your preamplifier to the LOW-LEVEL RCA inputs
of the P-1; then connect the P-1 RCA outputs to the RCA inputs of your
power amplifier. In this mode the 40/80 Hz filter switch is active for your
primary speakers.
When using a Dolby AC-3 surround system, connect the dedicated SW output of
the processor to the yellow RCA input on the P-1.
LOW PASS CONTROL This control allows the upper limit at which your PIEGA subwoofer works. We rec-
ommend that you start with a setting of about 85Hz.

AUTO POWER
Set the LEVEL control initially to its mid-postion (12 o-clock) and adjust for a natural
blend of the mid bass regions and midrange. We suggest that you start with a single
vocal with instrument accompaniment and adjust so the voice and instrument appear
to come from one place, not separate.
With the PHASE switch it is possible to change the phase from 0 to 180 degrees.
Choose the position that best integrates your P-1 with your system.
The HIGH PASS filter allows you to cut off the low frequencies to your main speakers
at either 40 or 80Hz. This feature is active only when using the LOW-LEVEL RCA
input of P-1 SW. Using this switch generally allows a more seamless integration and
lower distortion with your main speakers.
The AV Boost switch is used to get more impressive and dynamic low level reproduc-
tion when the P-1 is used in a Home Theater system. CAUTION In this mode the
maximum output level of the P-1 amplifier is restricted since the lowest frequencies
are boosted by 3db.
OFF is off, AUTO senses signal and turns on from a standby mode, and ON is conti-
nuos on. CAUTION, please use unswitched AC outlet.
INITIAL USE The PIEGA P-1 subwoofer system is perfect for both music and video. The setup is
similar and the goals are the same, i.e.of adding a high-end subwoofer in which you
cannot “hear“ the subwoofer work, but rather add the appropriate amount of LF ener-
gy that is missing from your current system. With music the full frequency range of an
orchestra should be reproduced with proper dynamic range and realism, from the
lowest notes of a pipe organ to the whack of a bass drum or the pluck of the lowest
string on an electric bass.
With video, the same goals can be achieved so that the results are realistic and exci-
ting as the roar of jet planes in Top Gun and Dynasours running through your house.
Take your time and experiment for proper set-up, you can achieve both stunning rea-
lism and musically correct bass.
CLEANING We recommend using glass cleaner for our aluminum models. Painted models may
be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use corrosive cleaning agents or rough
fabrics to clean your PIEGA loudspeakers. You should never attempt to clean the
ribbon tweeter.
WARRANTY PIEGA units are constructed to the highest quality standards and control procedures.
We provide a six-year warranty (three years on electronic components). To comply
with this warranty, please refer to our general guarantee conditions.
