PD636isaFish‐EyePanoramaNetworkDomeCamerafeaturedwith2MegaPixelresolutionandsuperior
H.264‐AVCperformanceandrichfunctions.PD636includesafish‐eyelensfor360°panoramicwide
angleviewwithoutblindspot.Itisverysuitabletoviewawideareawithsinglecamerasuchashallway,
store,andofficewithouttheneedtoinstallmultiplecameras.
Thehardwaredistortioncompensationabilityprovidesuserupto9differentvideomodesincluding360°
sourceimage,360°doublebroadview,360°3PTZviewswithsourceimage,360°quadview,360°broad
view,180°broadviewwithcroppingfunction,180°3PTZviewwithsource,180°2PTZviewwithbroad
viewandtableview.Thee‐PTZfunction,autopanandautopatrolwithoutmovingparts,canreplace
traditionalPTZcameraandthussavelostoftraditionalmechanicalPan/Tiltmaintaincost.
ThePoEfunction(PD636E)andWirelessfunction(PD636W)aredesignedforflexibleinstallation.

2. SoftwareInstallation
ThefollowingsoftwareisnecessaryfortheproperdisplayanduseofthePD636fromtheWebsite.
ThesoftwarewillbetakenfromtheSoftwarePackageCD.
IPInstaller
TheIPInstallerisusedtolocateandconfigurenetworkcamerasandvideoserversontheLAN.This
utilityisusefulforconvenientlyconfiguringthenetworksettingsofthedevice,orforfindinga
deviceoncethenetworksettingshavebeenmodified.
ToinstalltheIPInstaller,fromtheSoftwarePackageCDUI,selectIPinstaller,thenfollowtheon
screeninstructions.
XVIDCodec
AnH.264codecisappliedfordisplayingthevideostreamandplayingtherecodedAVIfiles.Ifthe
videostreamcan’tbedisplayedortherecordedAVIfilescan’tbeplayonPC,installthissoftware
fromtheSoftwarePackageCD.
VLC
Thoughnotnecessary,thiscanbeusedforviewingthestreamingwithoutaWebbrowser.

3. NetworkConfiguration
IPInstallerisautilitythatprovidesaneasier,moreefficientwaytoconfiguretheIPaddressand
networksettingsofthedevices.Itevenprovidesaconvenientwaytosetthenetworksettingsfor
multipledevicessimultaneouslyusingthebatchsettingfunction.Moreover,IPInstallercansavethe
networksettingsforalldevicesasabackupandrestorethemwhennecessary.
PreparationbeforeIPAssignment
1. AlwaysconsultyournetworkadministratorbeforeassigninganIPaddresstoyourserverinorderto
avoidusingapreviouslyassignedIPaddress.
2. EnsurethePD636ispoweredonandcorrectlyconnectedtothenetwork.
3. MACAddress:EachdevicehasauniqueEthernetaddress(MACaddress)shownonthelabelofthe
deviceastheserialnumber(S/N)with12digits(e.g.000429‐XXXXXX).
4. AlthoughtheIPInstallerisabletofindandconfigureanyPD636ontheLANexceptthosethatare
behindarouter,itisagoodideatosetthehostPCtothesamesubnet.Inordertoconnecttothe
Web‐baseduserinterfaceofthecamera,thehostPCmustbeinthesamesubnet.Formore
informationaboutsubnets,pleaseconsultyournetworkadministrator.
UsingIPInstallertoAssignanIPAddresstoPD636
1. OnceIPInstallerhasbeensuccessfullyinstalledonthePC,doubleclicktheIPInstallericononthe
desktop,orselectitfromStart>Programs>IPInstaller>IPInstaller>LaunchIPInstaller.
2. ClickthemenubarTool>SearchNetworkDevicetosearchthedeviceintheLAN.

3. Fromthelist,selectthedevicewiththeMACAddressthatcorrespondstothePD636thatistobe
configured.TheMACAddressisidenticaltotheunit’sS/N(SerialNumber).
4. DoubleclicktheitemtoopenthePropertyPagefortheselecteddeviceorclickthemenubarView
>Property.
5. Afterfillingintheproperties,click[Set]buttontocompletetheconfigurationsettings.

1. ToaccesstheWeb‐basedUIoftheselectedunit,runtheView>OpenWebonthemenubar.
2. Ifthedevicehasbeenconfiguredcorrectly,thedefaultWebbrowserwillopentothehomepageof
theselecteddevice.
3. IfyoufindyourbrowserisopenedandautomaticallyconnectedtothecameraHomePage,itmeans
you’veassignedanIPAddresstotheunitsuccessfully.NowyoucanclosetheIPInstallerandstartto
useyourcamera.
VerifyandCompletetheInstallationfromYourBrowser
WhenbrowsingtheHomePageatthefirsttimewiththeMicrosoftInternetExplorerTM,youmust
temporarilyloweryoursecuritysettingstoperformaone‐time‐onlyinstallationoftheActiveX
componentontoyourworkstation,asdescribedbelow:
1. FromtheToolsmenu,select[InternetOptions]
2. Clickthe[Security]tabandthenclick[CustomLevel]buttontoseeyourcurrentsecuritysettings.
3. SetthesecurityleveltoLowandclick[OK].
4. TypetheURLorIPaddressofyourcameraintotheAddressfield.
5. AdialogboxwillpopupaskingiftheActiveXcontrolshouldbeinstalled.Click[Yes]tostartthe
installation.
OncetheActiveXinstallationiscomplete,returnthesecuritysettingstotheiroriginalvalue,asnoted
above.
