7. Connect the power cable to the OBU. To do this, connect the Mini-USB end of the power cable to the
power c onnector OBU.
8 . Mount the OBU on the holder as follows:
- OBU front side with LEDs should be turned to the driver;
- mount the bottom edge of the OBU on the holder so that the holder's protrusions are trapped in the OBU
body grooves (Fig. 4).
- push the upper side of the OBU until it sets in the holder's frame (Fig.5). F grooves on the OBU's body ( ig.4) .

9. Start the engine of the vehicle and only after that to connect the OBU to the vehicle onboard network a
power adapter supplied . To do this, connect the USB cable connector power connector power adapter (Fig. 6),
then insert t he p lug o f a daptor i n t o v ehicle c igarette l ighter c onnector ( Fig.7).
10. Make sure that OBU sound and light indication appeared with in 2 minutes. Verify that the «Status»
LED is GREEN and all other LED s are not RED.

OBU positioning and installation recommendations
1. D etermine t he O BU m ounting l ocation o n t he i nside o f t he w indscreen s uch t hat:

- d istance a way o f w iper b lades i n i nitial ( non-operating) s tate i s n o l ess t han 1 0 cm;
- i t i s o ut s ide w indshield h eati ng z one;
- i t i s n on-metallised a rea.
2. T here a re t hree o ptions t o i nstall t he O BU o n t he w indscreen:
- v acuum p ads a nd h older i ncluded in t he p ackage (Fig. 1);
- conventional bracket for gadget mounting (Fig. 2, optional);
- double-sided adhesive pad (65x50 mm with more than 6 mm thickness. Fig.3, optional).
3. Thoroughly clean the area where you plan to mount the OBU on the wind screen with an alcohol solution and
wait until the surface dries.
4. If you are using vacuum pads from the package:
- insert the vacuum pads into the oval holes of the holder;
- moisten the cups with water;
- gently press the holder with vacuum pads to the determined are a with uniform force (Fig. 1).
5. If you are using conventional bracket (not provided):
- connect the bracket (Fig. 2 ) and the holder using rectangular s lots of the holder;
- fasten the bracket to the determined area following instructions provided with the bracket.
6. If you are using double-sided adhesive pad (not provided):
- it is recommended to attach the double-sided adhesive pad to the holder and to the windscreen at
temperature s above 20°C. If necessary, bring the windscreen and the holder to appropriate temperatures
beforehand.
- attach the adhesive pad to the holder (Fig.3) and remove protective layer;
- gently press the holder with adhesive pad to the determined area on the windshield.
OBU Setting
Basic setting of the OBU and assigning it to particular vehicle are carried out by an authorised employee of the
ETC Operator at TSO. OBU is ready for operation when delivered to the user. Check if the settings are correct.
The only setting, which may be performed by the user, is the setting of the acoustic signals. You can do it by a
brief (for no more than 1 second) pressing the control key.
How to act in case of troubles or OBU transportation
In case of any OBU problems or malfunction, please immediately call the 24-hour Service Hotlines and follow the
instructions.
In case you need to transport the OBU (one or several) to another location without tolling, please contact the ETC
Operator before hand in order to temporary deactivate it (to switch the OBU to “Transportation” submode).
ATTENTION: Until you finish transportation of the OBU (switched to “Transportation” submode), please do not
connect it to external power supply! Connecting OBU to external power supply will cause the OBU re-activation
(OBU will go to “Normal” mode and will start “tolling”).
Returning OBU to ETC Operator
Sound alert
This manual reflects state as at the time of delivery of the “CSI 1201” OBU to the ETC Operator and may
change without notice.
This manual does not contain nor regulate the vehicle owner/driver rights and obligations related to
electronic toll collection stipulated by the relevant legal acts.
Intended use of “CSI 1201” OBU is the electronic toll collection and other telematics services, if not explicitly
stated otherwise. ETC Operator not be held liable for any damages caused by non-intended or any improper
use of the “CSI 1201” OBU, especially any personal injury, any damage of property or any financial loss.

In case you decided that you would not use OBU henceforth, you have to return the OBU to ETC Operator at
TSO. You have to return the OBU in a full kit (OBU with power cable and cigarette lighter plug with a fuse in it,
windscreen holder with vacuum pads, OBU Passport).
Returning OBU as soon as possible will guarantee that no incidental toll transactions occur.
Single beep appear when:
- OBU power cable plug is inserted into cigarette lighter socket;
- OBU is disconnected from the vehicle power circuit and automatically switches to internal rechargeable battery;
- OBU modes of operation are changed;
- you switch beeper on by short pressing the control key.
Triple beep sounds if any OBU failure is detected.
Long single beep (3 sec.) sounds in case current account balance goes under critical level.
Long triple beep (3-10-3-10-3 sec.) sounds when OBU is disconnected from on-board power while vehicle speed is
above 10 km/sec.
You may switch off some sound alerts on your wish by single short pressing the control key, except important
ones:
- OBU cannot determine the coordinates;
- Account balance goes under the level needed for 100 km trip along Federal highways or is nullified;
- OBU battery is almost discharged;
- OBU goes to “OBU hardware locked”, “Malfunction” or “Logically blocked” modes
Operation
OBU is designed for permanent 24x365 operation. OBU does not have a power ON/OFF key and starts working
when you connect it to the on-board power via cigarette lighter socket. If later you will disconnect the OBU from
on-board power supply, the OBU will continue operation using internal rechargeable battery. There are different
modes/submodes of the OBU operation described below.
You ought to use the OBU only in accordance with the guidelines of the User Manual and the OBU Passport. Not on
purpose usage of the OBU is unacceptable. Neither ETC Operator, nor OBU manufacturer shall be held liable for any
damages caused by non-intended or any improper use of the OBU, especially any personal injury, any damage of
property or any financial loss.
In case of a long stop during the trip while the outside air temperature being higher than +25°C or less than 10°C, it is
recommended to take the OBU out of the vehicle cab to prevent its damage and deterioration of operating
characteristics.
It is recommended to plug the OBU into the cigarette lighter socket only after starting the vehicle engine.
If you need to clean the OBU surface, please use special computer and office equipment wipes only.
Check regularly that the OBU and the power cable are not damaged. You should immediately report any
emergency, or breakdown or damage of the OBU by calling 24h Service Hotlines or attending TSO. For the purpose of
identification, you may be asked to disclose your first name and surname or business name or the name of the Vehicle
Owner, vehicle registration number and approximate position of the vehicle.
Please prevent the penetration of foreign objects and liquids in the OBU. Prevent excessive temperatures, shocks
and hits of the OBU. Regularly check the reliability of fastening the OBU to the windshield.
Do not push the OBU control key using sharp objects (pen, pencil, screwdriver, etc.).
In case you got a notice from the ETC Operator to return the OBU, please do it as soon as possible at the
nearest TSO with in the period, specified in the notice. Please inform if you could not manage it in time.
Onboard unit OBU
The Оn-Board Unit (OBU) is an electronic telematics device, which uses GLONASS or GLONASS/GPS satellite
positioning technology to track movements of all goods vehicles with maximum authorised mass over 12 tons
(12t-trucks) o n R ussian F ederal H ighways.

You can use the rented OBU only at the vehicle to which it is particularly assigned according to the Rental Contract
conditions.
You should not drive by Federal highways while the OBU's "Status" or "GNSS" LED indicator is RED in
order n ot t o v iolate t he a rticle 1 2.21.3 ( Administrative O ffences C ode o f t he R ussian F ederation ).
Do n ot c arry o ut m anipulations w ith t he O BU w hile d riving, t o a void t raffic a ccidents.
You m ust connect t he OBU t o t he v ehicle o nboard n etwork o nly t he p ower a dapter s upplied .
You may connect OBU only to on-board power supply with voltage range: 11 - 3 2V DC. It is not allowed
to u se p ower s upply w ith v oltage h igher t han 3 2V D C.
Permitted o perating t emperature r ange: -40°C…+55°C.
It's prohibited to open the battery compartment of the OBU and to perform any actions within it. OBU
is sealed and it is for bidden to open it. To repair or maintain OBU, you have to apply to any Toll Service Office
(TSO).
In case of any OBU trouble or malfunction, loss or theft, destruction or damage it is necessary to inform
immediately t he E TC O perator ( via 2 4h S ervice H otlines) a nd f ollow t he i nstructions.
Please r emove t he p rotection f ilm f rom t he O BU f ront p anel to provide optimal brightness of the indicators.

LED indicators signalisation
Please visually check the functioning and correctness of the OBU operation prior to your journey, in the course of your
journey and after the end of the journey by monitoring led indicators of the OBU. Any glowing or flashing red led indicates
that t he O BU i s f aulty o r h as s ome p roblems.
“Status” LED depicts OBU operational mode/submode. You may drive by Federal highways only when this
indicator is permanently or flashing GREEN.
Flashing RED
«Malfunction» submode.
Permanently RED
«OBU hardware locked» submode.
Flashing Blinking GREEN
« ingSleep » submode.
Permanently YELLOW
«Out of Russian Federation
territory» submode.
GREEN with RED glimpses.
« » .Logically blocked submode
Permanently GREEN.
«Normal» submode.
That signal appears when OBU leaves the territory of Russian Federation. Please
unplug the OBU.
Please do not forget to re-connect the OBU to the onboard power supply when
returning to Russia.
If that signal appears when you are with in Russian territory, please contact the
ETC Call-Center and follow the instructions.
You cannot drive by Federal highways because OBU is unusable. Please contact the
ETC Call-Center immediately and follow the instructions.
OBU goes to “Sleep” mode when OBU is disconnected from external power and not
moving for more than 5 minutes.
All other indicators are to be OFF when OBU is in “Sleeping” mode. If that signal
persists even after OBU started moving, please contact the ETC Call-Center and
follow the instructions.
You can drive by Federal highways.
Indicates OBU's regular operation mode.
You can drive by Federal highways, but you have to contact the ETC Call-Center as
soon as possible and follow the instructions.
You cannot drive by Federal highways because some OBU errors appeared. Please contact
the ETC Call-Center and follow the instructions.
OFF
OBU in “Transportation” submode,
discharged or defective.
You may transport the OBU to another location with no tolling if needed. Only ETC
Operator transfers OBU to “Transportation” submode and only on your request.
If the indicator will not change after connecting OBU to the power supply, then it
may be inoperable. Please contact the ETC Call-Center and follow the instructions.
WARNING: It is prohibited to drive by Federal highways with discharged or defective
OBU or without registered toll ticket.
“GSM” LED depicts modem and connection modes. Possibility to drive by Federal highways depends on the OBU
operational mode (“Status” LED).
Permanently YELLOW

OBU is connecting to ETC server.

“GNSS” LED depicts the mode of the navigation signal s receive r operation. Possibility to drive by Federal
highways depends on the OBU operation al mode (“Status” LED).

“Beeper” LED depicts the sound alerts mode.
