Like any digital terminal with an LCD screen, your CINEMAN.DVB-T is extremely fragile. Utmost care should
be taken of your device since you are not covered, under warranty, for mechanical damage due to shock or
dropping the device.
In general, technical devices are not grounded, so you may experience minor electric shocks (not dangerous)
by touching two devices simultaneously (or one device and the antenna cable). We advise you to plug the
devices into the power supply after making all connections.
When you encounter a word you do not understand, look it up in the Glossary section at the end of these
instructions, where there is a brief explanation for the majority of technical words.
Do not install your CINEMAN.DVB-T near other electric devices. Choose a ventilated area and do not obstruct
the ventilation. Never place the CINEMAN.DVB-T on another electric device, because the resulting overheating
could prematurely age the components. In keeping with standard EN 60065, we inform you that the device
must not be exposed to dripping water or splashing and, in addition, no object filled liquid, such as vases,
must be placed on the device. In the event of a storm, unplug all your technical devices from the electrical
outlets – they might be subjected to damage not covered by the guarantee.
The remote control is supplied with a pre-installed CR2032 battery. Before use, pull out the plastic tab
to activate the battery. Out of respect for the environment and the law, never throw out used batteries with
household debris. Return them to your point of sale where you will find containers for used batteries.
Please note:
1. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No user-serviceable parts inside.
Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
2. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ven-
tilation is provided.
3. Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, cau-
sing serious injury and serious damage to the product.
4. To reduce the risk of fire or electro shock, do not expose this product to rain or moisture, or do not put
any flower pot or wet objects on the unit.
5. Do not expose the unit under the sun or other heat source.
6. If such abnormal phenomena as smoking, abnormal sound or peculiar small happens, please stop using
this unit. When you discover anything abnormal, please turn off the power and putt out the power plug.

7. When the unit can not work and still can not resume working normally after taking measures according to
the “troubleshooting” in the instruction manual, please unplug it from the wall outlet and refer servicing to
qualified service personnel.
8. Do not hit this product and be careful not to damage the screen of this product.
9. To protect your product from a lightning storm, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna
or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges.
10. When the unit is left unattended and unused for a long period of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and
disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and
power-line surges.
11. When the cable or plug of the CINEMAN.DVB-T is broken, please pull out the plug and refer servicing to
qualified service personnel.
12. Do not place this product on extension dust. If the temperature is highly damp, agglomerate dust will
damage the unit.
13. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
14. Do not use this product near water!
15. Do not put anything on the power cable if this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
16. Do not block slots and openings in the cabinet or the back or bottom.
17. If the unit falls off or the husk is broken. Please pull out the plug and refer servicing to qualified service
personnel.
This symbol is used on several occasions in these instructions. Pay attention to the important text
it refers to.

OPERATION MENU

The CINEMAN.DVB-T is operated via a menu. To make these instructions easier to read, we write the access
to a given menu in the following simplified form:
MENU / Scan / Manual Search
The following individual steps are necessary for this setting:
• Click on the MENU key to access the main menu (remote control).
• Use the VOL / VOL keys to select the individual main menu items.
Select the menu item Scan
• Use the CH keys to select the Manual Search sub-menu item
• Click on OK to confirm.
• You will notice that the words written in bold in these instructions correspond to the menu item display
on the CINEMAN.DVB-T device.

a Usage of the CINEMAN.DVB-T
The CINEMAN.DVB-T you have purchased is an ultra-modern, portable television that has been developed to
receive digital, DVB-T standard (digital video broadcasting terrestrial) TV and radio programmes. The DASC
antenna supplied as standard serves as the reception antenna. Any house or room antenna can also be used
to receive digital programmes as they are broadcast in the same frequency range as the analogue programmes
available hitherto.
You can use your CINEMAN.DVB-T in 3 different ways:
1. CINEMAN.DVB-T as a standard television
For home usage, the CINEMAN.DVB-T can be connected to the DASC antenna provided
via the antenna input ANT (IN) or to the house antenna. For CINEMAN.DVB-T usage
with the house antenna, please note that the TV antenna coming from the roof should be
connected directly to the antenna input designated ANT (IN). If the plug on your antenna
cable is too short, use the antenna cable adapter provided. Connect the antenna cable to
the CINEMAN.DVB-T and then connect the device to the mains supply.
2. CINEMAN.DVB-T as a set-top box / digital receiver
You can also use the CINEMAN.DVB-T as a digital receiver / set-
top box. Either connect the DASC antenna to the antenna input
ANT (IN) or connect the device to the house antenna. For
CINEMAN.DVB-T usage with the house antenna, please note that
the television set should be connected to the antenna output ANT
(OUT). The outputs VIDEO OUT and AUDIO OUT should then be
connected to the scart sockets on the television set via the AV cable provided. Connect the CINEMAN.DVB-T
to the mains supply via the adapter. If your television set has no AV inputs, you can use an AV/scart adapter
(not supplied as standard).
Please note that the CINEMAN.DVB-T should not be connected to a cable TV system or to an
antenna with a closed dipole as this will cause damage to the CINEMAN.DVB-T and invalidate
any warranty entitlements!

3. CINEMAN.DVB-T as a portable DVB-T television receiver
Thanks to its battery compartment (standard or rechargeable), and the DASC antenna
provided, you can use your CINEMAN.DVB-T as a television in the garden, at the bus
stop, on a restaurant terrace or wherever you want without a power supply or an anten-
na cable. The DASC antenna (Digital Active Signal Collector) provides for interference-
free reception and a clear picture. Connect the DASC antenna provided to the antenna
input ANT (IN) and switch the CINEMAN.DVB-T on.
Portable reception is possible only in those areas where a DVB-T signal can be received. Note: obstacles,
such as walls, trees and vehicles block TV waves, so reception will be better in clear areas.

b Prior to initial operation
When the channel search is complete, the device reverts automatically to the main menu. Press the EXIT key
to exit the menus and display the channels.
If the search has not found all the channels (or any channel), it is probably necessary to repeat the installati-
on process as described above. If no channel can be found after re-installation, it is probable that DVB-T
cannot be received in your zone.
· Switching on the device.
Simultaneously press the two keys VOL+ /
OK/POWER to initiate device operation.
· Language selection:
Choose the language required via the appropriate
key on the remote control and confirm by OK.

· Automatic programme search:
The automatic programme search can be started via
the following menu items:
MENU / Scan / Auto Searching.

c Calibration/ Orientation of house antenna
If no channel has been found on your normal house antenna, it is likely that it is pointing towards a transmit-
ter which transmits only in analogue.
If your zone is covered by digital transmission (DVB-T zone), it is because the transmissions come from an-
other transmitter, and you will need to modify the orientation of your antenna. We distinguish two cases,
according to which you know or do not know the UHF channel number on which you are supposed to re-
ceive digital transmission.
Case No. 1
You know at least one channel number (between 21 and 69) which transmits in your region.
· Go to MENU / Scan / Manual Search.
· Click on the VOL+ key until the UHF Channel Number
which transmits in digital appears. Wait for a few
seconds and watch the Reception Quality and Signal
Level graphic displays.
· Turn the antenna to maximise the signal. When you
approach the direction of the transmitter, the Level
should rise, then the Quality. A quality of 80% is the
minimum for a stable image. If the Quality never rises,
it is because the channel number you have chosen is incorrect, or transmission is too distant for your direc-
tional antenna.
· Once the maximum level is reached, tighten the fixing screws on the antenna.
· Click on EXIT.
· Go to MENU / Scan / Auto Searching

Case No. 2
You receive national channels in analogue and you have no idea of what you can receive in digital.
If you are certain that you can receive other channels, but you do not know which channel is used for these
channels, we suggest the following method:
Obtain a UHF directional antenna having significant gain (at least 15 dB) and connect it to the ANT input
(IN) of the device. Orient your new antenna in the same direction as the previous one and do an automatic
channel search (MENU / Scan / Auto Searching).
If you find channels not found with the old directional antenna, just replace the old antenna with the new
one. If not, rotate the antenna by an eighth turn and perform another automatic search. If you do not find any
channels, continue turning by an eighth turn and searching at each step. You should end up receiving various
new channels.
· Tune to one of the channels received.
· Go to MENU / Scan / Manual Search.
· The bottom of the screen indicates the level and the reception quality.
· Turn the antenna to optimise the quality and the level (the quality must be at least 80% for proper reception).
· Fix the antenna for good.
· Click on MENU to return to the previous menu.
· Go to MENU / Scan / Auto Searching.

1. Digital keys. Under normal usage, these are for typing in the number of the desi-
red channel. In programme mode, they are for entering digital values.
2. Stand-by key: For placing the device on permanent stand-by.
3. MENU key: For entering the main menu or returning to the preceding menu
when you are in a sub-menu.
4. VOL /VOL volume keys: For increasing or decreasing the sound volume. In
the menu, these modify the different parameters.
5. CH keys (up and down keys) - for changing channel. In radio mode, use
the CH keys to access the various radio programmes.
6. LCD key: For accessing the control menu of the LCD screen.
7. 4:3 key: For toggling from 16:9 mode to 4:3 mode, and vice versa.
8. EPG key (electronic programme guide). This key is used to access the various
programme guides (if broadcast by the operator).
9. CCFL key: For adjusting the screen brightness. Pressing successively scrolls
through the different modes. (CCFL : H , CCFL : M, CCFL : L, CCFL : black screen). In the darkest mode, the screen is almost black to
increase battery life, but sound is maintained. The infrared receiver light changes to red in this mode. Pressing again on CCFL returns to
high mode.
10. EXIT key: For exiting from menus and returning to display mode.
11. MUTE key: For muting sound.
12. OK key: For confirming a selection.
13. INFO key: Displays the technical parameters of the current channel.
14. TV/RAD key for toggling between TV mode and radio mode.
15. FAV key for accessing the list of favourite channels.
16. MOD key: For toggling between normal mode (DVB-T) and AV mode. In AV mode, the screen acts as a monitor for an external
source (games console, multimedia playback device, etc.).
17. PGUP / PGDN key: For rapid accessing of preceding/following pages in long lists.
18. TEXT key: For accessing the teletext magazine or the teletext subtitling (if broadcast by the operator).
19. Key not used on this model.
20. AUDIO key: For accessing alternative audio stations.

A An Infrared receiver (detects the infrared remote control signal).
B Status indicator
Light shines green – CINEMAN.DVB-T is switched on.
Light shines red –device is in stand-by mode.
Light does not shine – device is switched off.
C MENU / SELECT key (identical to that of the remote control). For changing to the main menu or exiting a
sub-menu and reverting to the previously set menu.
D CH/AV key. For going to the preceding channel. Prolonged pressing on this key for a few seconds toggles
between DVB-T mode and AV mode and vice versa.
E CH+ key. For going to the next channel (switching channel).
F VOL-/VOL+ keys. For adjusting volume (identical to those on the remote control).
G POWER /OK key. For confirming a selection in a menu. Prolonged pressing of this key for a few seconds
cuts off the CINEMAN.DVB-T.
F (VOL+) + G. Prolonged pressing on these two keys simultaneously for a few seconds switches on the
CINEMAN.DVB-T.
H ANT (IN). Antenna input for connecting the DASC antenna provided, or any other antenna. In the case of
the antenna cable plug being too short, use the adapter provided.
I ANT (OUT). Antenna output for feeding another television receiver.
J PROG. No function.
K AV (IN): Audio-video input. Thanks to the AV input / output cable provided, you can use your CINEMAN.DVB-T as an external
screen. Use the MODE key or prolonged pressing on the CH-/AV key to toggle to AV mode.
L AV (OUT). Audio-video output. Thanks to the AV input / output cable provided, you can display the DVB-T image on another external
television receiver.
M EARPHONE. 3.5 mm jack socket for helmet (not provided).

You have two possibilities for personalising the list of channels. The first is to create favourite channels. The
second involves deleting, shifting or renaming the existing channels.
a Favourite channels
• Selecting channels
• Go to MENU / Edit / Add Favourites
• Select a channel using the CH keys
• Press the MUTE key to allocate the channel to the favourites list.
A heart appears on the line.
• Select the other favourite channels in the same way. Press EXIT then OK to exit and save your selection.
Displaying favourite channels
• Click on the FAV key to make the list of favourites appear.
• Using the arrows select the channel you want to watch.
• Click on OK to confirm your selection.

b Modifying the list of channels
Clearing channels
• Go to MENU / Edit / Channel Manager
• Using the arrow keys select a channel to delete.
• Click on OK, and a cross appears.
• Select other channels to delete in the same way.
• Press EXIT then OK to confirm deletion of the channels.
Shifting channels
• Go to MENU / Edit / Channel Manager
• Using the arrows select a channel to shift.
• Click twice on the TEXT key, text selection goes blank.
• Using the arrow keys, shift the channel to the desired position.
• Click on MENU to confirm the new position.
• When you have finished reorganising, click on EXIT then OK.
Renaming a channel
• Go to MENU / Edit / Channel Manager
• Using the arrow keys, select a channel to rename.
• Click on the PAUSE key, the keypad is displayed and the old name highlighted.
• Click on the arrow key to shift the cursor to the keypad; the old name is deleted.
• Using the arrow keys, select letters one by one, confirming each one by clicking OK.
• When the new name is displayed, scroll down using the arrow key to position the cursor on the
channel name.
• When the name is again highlighted (white background), click on OK.
• You can rename other channels in the same way.
• To save, click on EXIT then OK.

Your CINEMAN.DVB-T television receiver is delivered with a secret code (PIN) which is 0000. The secret code
lets you block those channels to which you want to restrict access or protect the configuration of the terminal.
We advise you to change this code.
Modifying password
• Go to MENU / Preference / Access Control
• Scroll down to the line Old Pin and type in the secret code (0000 factory set).
• On the New Pin line, enter the new secret code.
• On the Confirm Pin line, enter, for verification, this new code and then press the AUDIO key to save it.
You then revert automatically to the main menu.
Keep your new secret code in a safe place.
Blocking channels
• Go to MENU / Edit / Channel Manager
• Using the arrow key select the channel to block.
• Click on the MUTE key and a padlock is displayed.
• To save this, click on EXIT then OK.
• You can block other channels in the same way.
• Go to MENU / Preference / Access Control
• Scroll to the Parent Lock line, click on to display ON.
• Go to the Install Lock line and scroll down with the arrow key to display the confirmation YES.
• Click on EXIT and then OK to save and exit.
From now on, you will have to enter the secret code to access the menus and display blocked
channels.

This operation is only to be carried out if you have modified settings by accident or incorrectly, thus making
the terminal inoperable. Reinitialise the terminal also if it shows inexplicable malfunctioning.
Reinitialisation deletes all personal settings (favourites, for example).
• Go to MENU / Config / Clear Data.
• Select Reset to Defaults and click OK to confirm.
• Enter your secret code and click OK to confirm.
• Switch off the device then switch back on.

a TV tuning
• MENU / Config / TV Setting is for configuring the image on the LCD screen or on an external tele-
vision receiver. You have the choice between 4:3 or 16:9 screen formats.
• Select MENU / Config / TV Setting / TV Aspect Ratio 4:3. You have various image display
options on a screen which does not correspond to it (example, conversion of a 16:9 image to letterbox
format for displaying on a 4:3 screen).
• Leave the PAL setting on the TV type sub-menu.
• The video output, HF system, standard and antenna feed settings are not supported on this model (video
output is deactivated in the menu).
b Time
The following setting permits time adjustment +1 in winter and +2 in summer – MENU / Config / Set
Time.
c Signal indicator
The MENU / Preference / Access Control menu is for activating or deactivating the display of the per-
manent signal indicator (Signal Info).
d Colour of menus
The MENU / Preference / OSD Setting menu is for changing the colour of the menus.
e Language
The MENU / Preference / Language setting is for choosing the menu language of the menus and the
preferred language for audio mode and subtitling.
The Subtitle Status line is for activating subtitles (only certain channels broadcast subtitles on certain broad-
casts)
f LCD screen
By clicking on the LCD key, you have access to the screen settings menu (image and sound). The
arrow keys allow a settings selection:
VOLUME (maximum sound volume), BRIGHTNESS (luminosity), COLOR (colour saturation), CON-
TRAST and TINT (focus and shade). For each of these settings, the arrow keys help modify the
parameter. The POWER option is not active; the RESET option is for returning to the factory settings by
selecting YES.

Apart from TV channels, CINEMAN.DVB-T can also receive radio broadcasts.
As soon as you click on the TV/RAD key, you enter radio mode. From then on, the CH+ and CH- keys can
be used to select the radio stations. To return to TV mode, click on the TV/RAD key again.
9 CHANNEL SEARCH
This operation should be carried out as soon as you lose a channel or when new channels are broadcast by
the operators.
• Go to MENU / Scan / Auto Searching. The new channels are sought and then added.
10 TV GUIDE (EPG)
Clicking on the EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) key gives you access to the presentation page for current
and upcoming programmes. The programme overview contains at least the title, time and duration of the
programme.
Note: the information displayed in this window is provided to the broadcaster by the operator. If it is not avai-
lable, it will not be broadcast by the operator.
You can select the programmes of the following and preceding channels by clicking on the arrow keys.

In the following section you will find assistance in remedying and correcting problems. If you are unable to
find a solution however, contact your local customer service.
Important – in the event of a DVB-T reception problem, it is necessary to define as precisely as
possible the exact symptom in your particular case. Depending on the type of problem you have,
the table below lists a possible cause, and one or more potential solution(s).
Symptom
You receive analogue channels perfectly,
but no digital channel.
You receive analogue channels perfectly,
but no digital channel. You live in an
apartment.
You receive analogue channels perfectly,
but no digital signal.
You receive certain digital channels pro-
perly, but others have poor reception or
are not received at all. With the channels
you do receive, the reception level is very
good.
You receive all digital channels, but recep-
tion is disrupted at certain moments
(when an electrical device starts up, for
example).
You receive certain multiplexes (certain
channels) but others are disrupted or not
received at all.
Possible Cause
Your antenna points towards an analogue
transmitter, while digital channels are
broadcast on another transmitter.
Your antenna collective system is not
adapted to gDVB-T.
Your zone is not yet covered by DVB-T
You are located too far from the
DVB-T transmitter.
You experience disruption from unwanted
interference.
Your reception is disrupted by echoes.
Solution(s) to try
Modify the orientation of your antenna.
Consult your owner or your co-owners
syndic.
No immediate solution. Wait until your
zone is covered by DVB-T.
1 - Try an internal amplifier.
2 - Try a mast amplifier.
3 - Obtain a more efficient antenna.
1 - Replace the antenna cable going from
the TV socket to your terminal with a
cable with reinforced sheathing.
2 – Replace the peripherals (distributors,
shunters) with sheathed products.
3 - Replace the cable between the antenna
and the socket.
1 – Slightly modify the orientation of the
antenna.
2 - Replace the antenna with a new one
which has more efficient anti-echo
grilles.

Symptom
You receive certain multiplexes (certain
channels) but the channels above 60 are
disrupted or not received at all.

but not those between 36 and 39 (or vice
