5. Punch-in recording [ After recording, replace correct audio ] (User’s Guide: pp. 43-44)
Rerecord the phrase 2 and 3 showed in Example 2 below after completion of recording.
1.Press either 7) Rew. Key or 9) For. Key to navigate to the phrase where you wish to
insert new audio (Phrase 2 of Example 1). Then, press 4) Start key to specify the
beginning phrase in the range.
2.Press 9) For. to navigate to the last phrase where you wish to correct. (Phrase 3 of Example
1). Then, press 5) End to specify the ending phrase in the correcting range.
3.Press 6) Rec. / Pause key to go into the recording standby and adjust the recording
volume.
4.Press 6) Rec. / Pause key again to start recording. Read phrase 2 and 3 in Example 2 as
“… only Cinderella’s two Stepsisters were….. Her Fairy Godmother appeared …….”
5.Press 6) Rec. / Pause key to put DR-1 into the Pause state, then press Play / Stop key
to stop recording. Phrase 2 and 3 will be replaced from “…Cinderella's sister was… Her
Fairly mother appreared….” to “…Cinderella's two Stepsisters were … Her Fairly Godmother
appeared…..”
6. Delete phrases (User’s Guide: p. 45)
1. Press either 7) Rew. Key or 9) For. Key to navigate to the phrase where you wish to
delete. Then, press 4) Start key to specify the beginning phrase in the deleting range.
2. Press 9) For. to navigate to the last phrase where you wish to delete. Then, press 5) End
to specify the ending phrase in the deleting range.
3. Press 3) Delete key to delete the phrase.
7. Inserting recording [ Insert new audio in the existing recording ] (User’s Guide: p. 42)
1.Press either 7) Rew. Key or 9) For. Key to navigate to the phrase where you wish to
insert new audio in the existing recording (Phrase 3 and 4 of Example 3).
2.Press 6) Rec. / Pause key to go into the recording standby and adjust the recording
volume.
3.Press 6) Rec. / Pause key again to start recording. Read the “As the sisters swept away to
the ball, Cinderella cried in despair.”
4.Press 6) Rec. / Pause key to put DR-1 into the Pause state, then press 8) Play / Stop key
to stop recording. The new audio will be inserted as phrase 3 and 4 of Example 3.
Precautions
■Precaution for connecting power adaptor
Do not use the power adaptor that does not come with DR-1. It may lead to a cause of
electric shock, fire, and product damage.
■Precaution for static electricity
The CF card and the SD card adaptor are weak to static electricity. If these products receive
static electricity during recording, stored data might be destroyed. Please do not tough the
card when the power is on.
■How to insert a CF card? ■How to eject a CF card?
1. Turn OFF the power.
2. Hold the CF card correctly as described
below on the left.

3. There is a very small ridge on the front
edge of the CF card. This ridge should be
towards you and facing downwards when
you insert the card.

4. Insert the CF card into the card slot located
in the front part of the DR-1 body.
1. Turn OFF the power.
[Note] If the CF card is ejected in the state
where the power of DR-1 is on, stored
data in the card might be destroyed.
Ensure to turn OFF the power before
ejecting the CF card.
2. Press the eject key which is located on
the right of the CF card slot.
3. Carefully grip the CF card and pull it out of
the slot.
