Environmental information
This MicroPod Sub is designed to comply with international directives on the Restriction of Hazardous

Equipment (WEEE).
These symbols indicate compliance and that the products must be appropriately recycled or processed in
accordance with these directives. Consult your local waste disposal authority for guidance.
Carton box contents
During production and packing we have carefully checked and inspected this subwoofer.
After unpacking please check for any damage from transport.
We recommend that you keep the original carton box and packing material for any future shipping.
In the carton box you will find:
1 Power cable
1 MicroPod Sub
Loudspeaker installation
The MicroPod Sub requires connection to the mains power supply, so for your safety it is important that
you read both this instruction manual, and the amplifier/receiver instruction manual before connecting.
Subwoofer positioning
Variations in placement of your loudspeakers can produce dramatic differences in the way music sounds.
No listening rooms are the same and therefore we encourage you to spend some time experimenting with
which placements work best in your listening room.
Position of subwoofers are however less critical compared with full-range loudspeakers because the low
frequencies reproduced by a subwoofer are difficult to locate in the room.
Trust your ears and be willing to experiment freely.
You can start with our basic recommendations:

Connecting your subwoofer
We recommend that you read the instruction manual of your stereo amplifier or AV-receiver carefully before
connecting your MicroPod Sub.
Please also see Fig. 2 in this instruction manual.
First switch off the amplifier/receiver and all equipment before connecting your MicroPod Sub.
Connect the MicroPod Sub mains power cable to the socket (1) and to the mains voltage and push the
POWER ON/OFF button (2) to ON position, the indicator lamp POWER LED (8) will now glow green and the
MicroPod Sub is active and ready to be used.
The MicroPod Sub has a built-in AUTO STANDBY (4) function.
To activate the AUTO STANDY function, set the switch (4) AUTO and after approximately 5-10 minutes
without any input signal from the amplifier/receiver, the MicroPod Sub will automatically switch off and the
indicator lamp POWER LED (8) will glow red.
When an input signal is detected, the MicroPod Sub will become active and the indicator lamp POWER LED
(8) will glow green.
Should you wish to bypass the AUTO STANDBY function set the switch (4) to ON position and the
MicroPod Sub must now be turned on/off on the power switch (2)
Setting volume, frequency and phase
The volume, frequency and phase (controls 5, 6 & 7) can be adjusted on the rearpanel and we recommend
that you adjust the settings to your liking – try with different music and films. If you want more detailed
information on these control functions, we invite you to visit our homepage; www.podspeakers.dk
Running-in period
We recommend a running-in time of your new MicroPod Sub of approximately 15-20 hours at normal
listening level before you decide on the final positioning and controls setting of the MicroPod Sub.
During the running-in time the 6½” subwoofer drive unit will settle in and perform as intended.
Care and cleaning
We do not recommend use of any solvents or cleaners on the lacquered cabinet.
The cabinet surface usually only requires dusting or cleaning with a soft cloth (do not use water).
• Do not use MicroPod Sub as a coffee or drinks table (risk of water being spilled into the enclosure).
• Do not remove the round front metal grille – this must be performed by qualified repair personnel.
• Disconnect the MicroPod Sub from the mains supply if taken out of use for a longer period.

ENGLISH / Troubleshooting
Basic troubleshooting
If the LED (8) indicator does not light up then check;
• that the power cord (1) is firmly plugged into the socket and mains wall outlet
• that the POWER switch (2) on the rear panel is ON
• the fuse, if fuse (3) need to be replaced only use the same type and value
If no sound then check;
• that the MicroPod Sub is turned ON and indicator LED (8) lamp glows green
• that the VOLUME control (7) on the rear panel is not all the way down
• that the input cable (3) is firmly plugged in both MicroPod Sub and amplifier
• that MicroPod Sub gets a signal from the amplifier (there is a check tone on most AV-receivers)
MicroPod switches off during the movie;
The MicroPod Sub has an automatic switch (auto standby function), which depends on the input level of the
output stage of the MicroPod Sub on or off.
The automatic system is set so that, when exceeding a certain fixed threshold value, the unit is turned on.
If this threshold is below a certain specified time, the MicroPod Sub is turned off again.
If the MicroPod Sub is switched on during the loudest passages only, you should reduce the level at the
volume control on the rear panel, to reach the same bass response, a higher level from the AV-receiver has
to come, which means that the switch has been exceeded before.
If MicroPod Sub is used in conjunction with large speakers for the front section, a change in the
AV-receivers speaker setup may help.
If the above does not help, you can choose to bypass the auto standby function by setting the switch (4)
in ON position, this leaves MicroPod Sub always on and it must be manually turned on/off by the power
switch (2) after use.
