INSTRUCTION MANUAL
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT FOR THE FIRST TIME, AND
KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
AUTOMATIC RECEPTION OF RADIO WAVES
•Insert 1 AA battery (LR06) into the battery compartment, at the back of the clock while respecting the
correct polarity (+) and (-).
•The hands will rotate rapidly and point to 12 o’clock.
•The exact time will be displayed immediately after the good receipt of the signal from the atomic clock in
Mainflingen (near Frankfurt), in Germany.
•Wait a moment till the the hands stop moving rapidly and resume a normal movement
•The procedure can last frrom 3 to 15 minutes. If the hands don’t rotate to the current time, press the
"RESET" button for 10 seconds. After that, wait a moment till the clock adjusts itself automatically to the
correct time.
Reset of signal reception: If the clock still does not work after one hour, press the "RESET" button again for 10
seconds. Be patient. It is sometimes necessary to wait 24 hours before receiving the signal.
Searching the forced signal: If the clock still does not work after 24 hours and the hands do not point to 12 o’clock0,
press the "REC" button for 3 seconds for a forced reception of signal.
The clock is designed so that the signal is automatically received at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 every day. If the signal is
successfully received at one of the indicated hours, there will be no further reception attemptsat the following hours.
If the reception is not successful, the signal will be checked again at 4:00 am, at 5:00 am, then the next day at 3:00
am, etc. After receiving the signal, it will display the exact time. All is automatic.
Warning: Do not do anything when updating the time.
MANUAL SETTING
If your radio-controlled clock can’t receive the DCF signal in the place where you are (see poor reception), you can
carry out a manual setting: press the "SET" button for 3 seconds, the hands will then turn faster, hold down this
button to set the correct time.
BAD RECEPTION
•During the first 24 hours, the clock will try to capture the signal every hour as long as it will not update
automatically.
If the clock has still not been set itself after this time, it may be due to the following reasons:
-If you are more than 1500 km away from the signal transmitter of Mainflingen (near Frankfurt).
-If you are within 1 500 km of the signal transmitter of Mainflingen but the topography of the site
and the weather conditions affect the reception of long waves.
-Close to household appliances without jamming device.
-Close to a television set (within 2 meters).
-Close to a high frequency signal device.
-Close to a metal structure.
•If the clock still does not receive the signal, you can press the "SET" button to set the time manually (see
above "manual setting").

- The clock’s hands still do not move forward after the
insertion of batteries.
- The clock does not indicate the correct time because
it has not received a signal within 15 minutes after
inserting the batteries.
Procedure: Check if the battery is inserted correctly.
Move the clock in another room or several meters
away from any computer, TV, air conditioner or
device, etc. Preferably near a window. Hold down the
"REC" button to restart the reception.
IMPORTANT TIPS
•Keep your clock clean and away from moisture, as metal parts can be oxidized.
•Wax and maintain the wooden part of your clock as often as you do for your other wooden furniture.
WARNINGS
•Keep your clock out of the reach of children. They could damage it, make it fall and get hurt.
•This product is only intended for home use.
WARNINGS ON BATTERY
•Please take out the batteries if you intend not to use the clock for a long time.
•Never mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) and rechargeable (nickel hydride).
•Don’t mix new and used batteries.
•Don’t attempt to recharge non rechargeable batteries.
•Remove rechargeable batteries from the device (if possible) before charging them.
•Rechargeable batteries must always be recharged under adult supervision.
•Remove used batteries.
•Never short the power supply terminals.
•Always use the recommended or equivalent battery types.
•Always pay attention to battery polarity.
