Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the
product.
NOISE AND WATER HAMMER IN PEX SYSTEMS
As with all plumbing materials under some operating conditions, water hammer can occur in PEX
plumbing systems. The inherent exibility of PEX drastically reduces the magnitude of pressure surges
compared with metallic plumbing materials. Damage to plumbing components in a PEX system due to
these pressure surges is highly unlikely, although noise can sometimes result. Fortunately, there are
solutions to minimize or eliminate water hammer noise.
Clamping or strapping more frequently may help prevent tubing noise. It is very important that the
tubing not be in contact with wallboard, forced air ducts or other high resonance articles. Insufciently
or improperly clamped or strapped tubing may move during xture operation and hit against these
surfaces.
Install a water hammer arrester on xtures where noise is a problem. A water hammer arrester installed
within 6 ft. of the xture on the cold water side only will eliminate the source of the noise (the pressure
wave). It should be noted that even with an arrester, tubing that is clamped or strapped insufciently
may still hit against something as it moves slightly when the water ow is stopped.
Avoid operating xtures in such a way that causes near instantaneous shut off. Simply closing xtures
in a less abrupt manner can eliminate hammer noise.
CAUTION
Inlet ports are designed to allow for 1/2-inch copper tubing solder connection or 1/2-inch IPS threaded
coupling connection. For threaded connections, wrap thread seal tape around threaded ends before
connecting. If soldering connections, remove cartridges, seats, and springs. Connect water supply to
the pipe by soldering. Reassemble cartridges, seats, and springs. Heat damage to these parts may
occur and result in the warranty being void on these parts.

PREPARATION
Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package
contents list and above. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.
Contact customer service for replacement parts.
Note: This guide is a general representation of the installation process. In the case of plumbing
products, every installation is essentially a custom installation and some adjustments may be required
for your specic application.
Estimated Assembly Time: 90 minutes
Tools Required for Assembly (not included): Safety Goggles, Adjustable Wrench, Thread Seal Tape,
Phillips Head Screwdriver, Channel-Lock Pliers.
• Prior to beginning installation, turn off the cold and hot water lines and turn on the old faucet to
release built-up pressure.
• When installing your new faucet, first, hand-tighten connector nuts. Then, use one wrench to hold
the fitting and a second wrench to tighten the nut an additional 1/4 turn. Connections that are too
tight will reduce the integrity of the system.
• This product is engineered to meet the EPA WaterSense flow requirement. The flow rate is
governed by the aerator or flow controller. If replacement is ever required, be sure to replace it with
a WaterSense compliant aerator or flow controller to retain the water conserving flow rate of this
product.
• This product might require to be installed with an automatic temperature compensating device to
reduce the risk of scalding and thermal shock. Check with the local plumbing code requirement
before installation. The product should be installed by the local licensed plumber.
• The shower shall be used with automatic compensating valve rated at 1.4 gpm(5.3 L/min) or less.
• If you use soldering for the installation of the faucet, the seats cartridges and washers will have to be
removed before using flame. Otherwise, warranty will be void on these parts.

shower arm (A), handle (E), and spout (G).
3. Attach hot and cold supplies to handle valves of
valve body (D). For threaded connections, wrap
thread seal tape around threaded ends before
connecting. Recommended distance from center of
pipe to finished wall is 1-3/4 to 3 inches.
Note: Numbered arrows within steps indicate
sequence of actions.

4. Attach vertical shower pipe to the top of the middle
elbow of valve body (D).

elbow of valve body (D).
Note: Recommend 8 in. minimum distance to spout.
For shower only installation attach plug (H) to the
bottom of the middle elbow of valve body (D) using
thread seal tape.
6. Install stub-out pipe (not included) for spout. Use
proper length stub-out pipe so pipe threads will
extend 4 to 4-1/8 inches beyond finished wall.

spout (G).
11. Check for leaks at shower arm (A). Next divert
water to the shower to flush out the water lines.
12. Install shower head (C) to shower arm (A). Hand
tighten shower head.

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use a clean strap wrench (not included) to remove
the shower head (C) from shower arm (A).
2. Use a flathead screwdriver (not included) to
carefully remove the screen washer (I).
3. Gently clean the screen washer (I) with a
toothbrush (not included).

You may be required to present a copy of your sales receipt as proof of purchase. All cost of removal
and reinstallation are the expressed responsibility of the purchaser. Any damage to the faucet by
accident, misuse or improper installation, or by afxing accessories not produced by the manufacturer,
are the purchaser’s responsibility. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility whatsoever for faucet
installation during the warranty period. There is no further expressed warranty. The manufacturer
disclaims any and all implied warranties. The manufacturer shall not be liable for incidental,

Lea y comprenda completamente este manual antes de intentar ensamblar, usar o instalar el producto.
RUIDO Y GOLPES DE ARIETE EN LOS SISTEMAS PEX
Como en todos los materiales de plomería que están bajo ciertas condiciones de funcionamiento,
pueden ocurrir golpes de ariete en los sistemas de plomería PEX. La exibilidad característica de los
sistemas PEX reduce notablemente la magnitud de los aumentos de presión en comparación con los
materiales de plomería metálicos. Es muy poco probable que se produzcan daños en los componentes
de plomería en un sistema PEX a causa de estos aumentos de presión; sin embargo, en algunas
ocasiones se pueden producir ruidos. Afortunadamente, existen soluciones para minimizar o eliminar
el ruido por golpes de ariete.
El uso más frecuente de abrazaderas y correas de sujeción puede ayudar a evitar el ruido en las
tuberías. Es muy importante que la tubería no esté en contacto con el panel, los ductos de aire forzado
u otros elementos de alta resonancia. Las tuberías sujetas o amarradas incorrectamente podrían
moverse durante el funcionamiento del ensamble y golpear estas supercies.
Instale un supresor de golpes de ariete en los ensambles que tengan problemas de ruido. Instalar un
supresor de golpes de ariete a menos de 1,83 m del ensamble sólo por el lado del agua fría eliminará
la fuente de ruido: La onda de presión. Debe tenerse en cuenta que, incluso con un supresor, una
tubería sujeta o amarrada incorrectamente aún podría golpearse contra algo si se mueve ligeramente
cuando el ujo de agua se detiene.
Evite operar los ensambles de una forma que pueda causar el corte casi instantáneo del suministro.
Basta cerrar los ensambles de manera menos abrupta para eliminar los golpes de ariete.
PRECAUCIÓN
Los puertos de entrada están diseñados para acoplarse a conexiones soldadas de tuberías de cobre
de 1/2” o conexiones IPS de acoplamiento roscado de 1/2”. Para conexiones roscadas, envuelva
los extremos roscados de las tuberías con cinta para tuberías antes de conectar. Para conexiones
soldadas, retire los cartuchos, las empaquetaduras y los resortes. Conecte el suministro de agua a la
tubería con soldadura. Vuelva a ensamblar los cartuchos, las empaquetaduras y los resortes. Estas
piezas podrían dañarse con el calor, lo que puede anular la garantía para las mismas.

Antes de la instalación, retire las manijas (E) del
cuerpo de la válvula (D).
• Este producto se diseñó para cumplir los requisitos de flujo Watersense de la EPA. El índice de
flujo está regulado por el aireador o por el caudal de flujo. Si alguna vez se requiere reemplazo,
asegúrese de reemplazarlo con el aireador de flujo o con el aireador que cumpla con la norma
WaterSense para mantener el índice de flujo que conserva el agua de este producto.
• Es posible que este producto deba instalarse con un dispositivo de compensación automática de
temperatura para reducir el riesgo de quemaduras y choque térmico. Revise el requisito del código
local de plomería antes de la instalación. Un plomero certificado local debe instalar el producto.
• La ducha se debe utilizar con una válvula de compensación automática con calificación de 1,4 gpm
o menor.
• Si usa soldadura para la instalación del grifo, se deben quitar los asientos, los cartuchos y las aran-
delas antes de usar la flama. De lo contrario, se anulará la garantía para estas piezas.

Nota: esta guía es una representación general del proceso de instalación. En caso de llevar a cabo
la instalación de productos para plomería, tenga en cuenta que cada instalación es particular y
necesitará hacer algunos ajustes para su aplicación especíca.
Tiempo estimado de ensamblaje: 90 minutos
Herramientas necesarias para el ensamblaje (no se incluyen): gafas de seguridad, llave inglesa, cinta
aislante para roscas, destornillador phillips, pinzas channel-lock.
• Antes de comenzar la instalación, interrumpa el suministro de agua fría y caliente y luego abra el
grifo antiguo para liberar la presión acumulada.
• Al instalar su grifo nuevo, primero apriete a mano las tuercas del conector. Luego, utilice una
llave inglesa para sostener el conector y otra llave para apretar la tuerca con ¼ de giro más. Las
conexiones que estén muy apretadas reducirán la integridad del sistema.

cm.

5. Una el tubo vertical de la bañera a la parte inferior
del codo medio del cuerpo de la válvula (D).
Nota: se recomienda una distancia mínima 20 cm al
surtidor. Para la instalación de la ducha únicamente
una el tapón (H) a la parte inferior del codo medio
del cuerpo de la válvula (D) con la cinta aislante para
roscas.
6. Instale la tubería saliente (no se incluye) para el
surtidor. Use una tubería saliente de longitud para
que las roscas de la tubería se extiendan de 10,16
cm a 10,48 cm más allá de la pared terminada.
