INTRODUCTION
The 250 lb Ladder Rack’s arms can extend to hold wider loads
up to 250 lb. The rack fits most truck beds.

WORK AREA

are not working in a shadow.

prevent rust or damage. Lock tools away and keep out of
the reach of children.
4. Avoid contact with electrical sources in your work as the
rack is not insulated and will transmit an electric shock that
may cause an injury.

1. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and

should comply with CSA Z94.3-07 or ANSI Z87.1 standards
based on the type of work performed.
2. Wear gloves that provide protection based on the work
materials or to reduce the effects of tool vibration.
3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work
environment and tool.
4. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing
and balance in the work environment.
5. Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot
injury from falling objects.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work
environment to avoid personal injury or damage to tool.
1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence
of drugs, alcohol or medications.
2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become
entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair
covered or bound.
3. Do not overreach when operating a tool. Proper footing and
balance enables better control in unexpected situations.

2.1 Check the weld points for cracking or metal fatigue.
3. Do not exceed the rack’s maximum capacity (see
Specifications).
4. Secure the load with straps to prevent unwanted
movement that can cause the load to slide, fall off the arm
or vibrate.
5. Check all bolts and connections for tightness daily. Tighten
the bolts when necessary.
6. Avoid overloading the ladder rack. Distribute the load
evenly across both racks. Overloading can make the vehicle
top-heavy and may cause a vehicle roll over during turns,
stops or strong winds.
7. When extending the arms, be sure to leave 2-1/2 in. of the
tube in the frame to prevent the arm from falling out.
8. Be aware of the overall height of the load on the vehicle to
avoid striking low overhead structures.
9. Do not load the racks in a manner that will block or obscure
your view of the road or surroundings while driving.
10. Only load a vehicle on a firm, level surface capable of
sustaining the load. Never load the racks on a vehicle
resting on a sloped or soft surface, as the load may shift or
fall and injure you or a bystander.
11. Only use manufacturer accessories with the ladder rack.
Using an accessory not designed for the ladder rack may fail
and injury you or a bystander.
UNPACKING
WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing.
Replace the missing part before operating. Failure to do so
could result in a malfunction and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect
for damage. Make sure that all items in the parts list are included.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the included
Parts List.
Prepare two Allen wrenches (5 and 8 mm), two open-end
wrenches (14 and 17 mm), a 7/16 in. drill bit suitable for your
vehicle’s panel material and an electric drill.
INSTALLING THE FRONT SUPPORT
1. Decide whether you are installing the rack on the left or
right side of the truck bed.
2. Check the installation surfaces and verify there are no
hidden wires or structures before drilling or driving screws.
3. Place the front bracket (#2) against the truck bed
bulkhead. The strut with a slot and two bolt holes is bolted
on either side of the upright section. The strut with a single
bolt hole is bolted into the side stake pocket.
4. Position the front bracket against the bulkhead so the backing
plate (#18) will be flush against the surface’s other side.
5. Level the support bracket and mark a hole in the left bolt
hole on the bulkhead, then mark the bolt hole for the stake
pocket. Set the bracket aside and use the backing plate as
a template to mark the second bolt hole. Check the spacing
with the bracket again.
6. Drill the 7/16 in. holes in the bulkhead. Next drill the stake
pocket hole.
7. Insert an upright support (#6) through the bottom of the
front bracket (#2). Position the foot on the truck bed. Rest
the foot on a rib if present. Rotate the support in 90
degrees turns until a secure position is found. Remove any
obstructions beneath the foot.
8. Slide an M10 flat washer (#11) onto an M10x45 hex bolt
(#9) and insert through each bolt hole in the front bracket

and bulkhead. Place the backing plate (#18) over the
protruding bolts.
9. Slide an M10 flat washer (#11), M10 lock washer (#12) and
M10 nut (#13) on each protruding bolt. Tighten the nut to
secure the bracket.
10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 to secure the bracket to the stake
pocket location.
11. Adjust the upright support (#6) so it is plumb.
12. Mark the truck bed where the foot bolt holes rest. Drill two
7/16 in. holes.
13. Slide an M10 flat washer onto an M10x45 hex bolt and
insert through each bolt hole in the foot and truck bed.
14. Slide an M10 flat washer, M10 lock washer and M10 nut on
each protruding bolt. Tighten the nuts to secure the
upright support.
INSTALLING THE REAR SUPPORT
15. Position the rear bracket against the inner truck wall at the rear
stake pocket. The bracket should be as high as possible and
near the center of the stake pocket to access the hardware.
16. Mark and drill two 7/16 in. holes using the rear bracket flange
as a template.
17. Insert an upright support (#6) into the rear bracket (#1).
18. Slide an M10 flat washer (#11) onto an M10x45 hex bolt (#9)
and insert through each bolt hole in the rear bracket flange.
Slide an M10 flat washer (#11), M10 lock washer (#12) and
M10 nut (#13) on each protruding bolt. Tighten the nut to
secure the bracket.
19. Position the foot on the truck bed. Rest the foot on a rib if
present. Rotate the support in 90 degrees turns until a
secure position is found. Remove any obstructions beneath
the foot.

20. Slide an M10 flat washer (#11) onto an M10x45 hex bolt (#9)
and insert through each bolt hole in the rear bracket flange.
Slide an M10 flat washer (#11), M10 lock washer (#12) and
M10 nut (#13) on each protruding bolt. Tighten the nut to
secure the bracket.
UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY
The nuts securing the bolts are on the rear of the assembled
arms. Position the components below so the bolts are arranged
correctly. Do not fully tighten the nuts until assembly is
complete.
1. Place the horizontal cross arm (#7) on its side.
2. Insert the upright (#3) into the end of the horizontal cross
arm. Align the end bolt holes in each.
3. Insert an M8x60 button head bolt (#14) through the bolt
holes. Secure with an M8 flat washer (#17) and an M8 lock
nut (#16).
4. Attach the vertical support arm (#4) to the upright (#3).
Slide the flanges over the upright bolt holes near the
center. The support arm’s open side faces the horizontal
cross arm.
5. Insert an M8x60 button head bolt (#14) through the bolt
holes. Secure with an M8 flat washer (#17) and an M8 lock
nut (#16).
6. Attach the vertical support arm to the horizontal cross arm.
6.1 Position the vertical support arm flanges over the
horizontal cross arm flanges and align the bolt holes.
6.2 Hold a spacer (#19) between the flanges and insert an
M8x65 bolt (#15) through the bolt holes and spacer.
Secure with an M8 flat washer and M8 lock nut.
6.3 Install the ladder stop (#5) on the rear rack as part of
step 6b. Place the ladder stop in front of the flanges
before inserting the bolt. Complete step 6b.

COMPLETE INSTALLATION
1. Insert an upright (#3) into each bracket until seated. The
upright with the ladder stop (#5) goes into the rear
bracket.
2. Screw an M10x15 Allen head set screw (#10) into the bolt
hole of the front and rear upright supports (#6). Screw the
last two set screws into the Front and rear bracket.
3. Insert the adjustable arm (#8) into the horizontal cross
piece (#7). Adjust the arm length by pulling it out of the
cross arm. Leave a minimum of 2-1/2 in. in the cross arm.
The arm is held in place by friction.
4. Tighten all bolts, nuts and screws.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is
efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace
damaged or worn components. Only use identical
replacement parts when servicing.
3. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry
important information. If unreadable or missing, contact
Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
WARNING! Only qualified service personnel should repair the
tool. An improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the
user and/or others.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does
not function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so,
have a qualified technician service the tool.

3. N'utilisez pas l'outil si vous devez étirer les bras pour vous
en servir. Une stabilité et un équilibre appropriés sont
nécessaires afin d'avoir un meilleur contrôle en cas de
situations inattendues.
CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ SPÉCIFIQUES

familiarisation avec l'outil (obtenus après un emploi répété) de

1. Utilisez le bon outil pour la tâche à effectuer. Cet outil a été

2.1 Vérifiez si les points de soudure présentent des fissures
ou une fatigue du métal.
3. Ne dépassez pas la capacité maximale du support (consultez
Spécifications).
4. Fixez la charge avec des sangles pour empêcher tout
mouvement non désiré pouvant causer le glissement de la
charge, la chute hors du bras ou une vibration.
5. Vérifiez la solidité de tous les boulons et de toutes les
connexions chaque jour. Serrez les boulons, si nécessaire.
6. Évitez de surcharger le support d’échelle. Répartissez la
charge uniformément sur les deux supports. Une surcharge
peut rendre le véhicule trop lourd du haut et causer un
capotage du véhicule lors des virages, des arrêts ou en
présence de vents forts.
7. Lors de l’extension des bras, assurez-vous de laisser une
longueur de tube de 2 1/2 po à l’intérieur du cadre pour
éviter que le bras se détache.

8. Soyez informé de la hauteur hors tout de la charge sur le
véhicule afin d’éviter tout contact avec les structures
surélevées basses.
9. Ne chargez pas les supports de manière à bloquer ou à
obstruer votre vision de la route ou des alentours pendant
la conduite.
10. Chargez un véhicule seulement sur une surface solide et de
niveau pouvant soutenir la charge. Ne chargez jamais les
supports sur un véhicule positionné sur une surface en
pente ou meuble car la charge risque de se déplacer ou de
tomber et peut causer des blessures à vous et à d’autres
personnes à proximité.
11. Utilisez seulement des accessoires du fabricant avec le
support d’échelle. L’usage d’accessoires non conçus pour le
support d’échelle peut causer une défaillance et des blessures
à vous et à d’autres personnes à proximité.
DÉBALLAGE
AVERTISSEMENT ! Ne faites pas fonctionner l'outil si des
pièces sont manquantes. Remplacez les pièces manquantes
avant l'utilisation. Le
non-respect de cet avertissement peut entraîner une
défectuosité et des blessures graves.
Retirez les pièces et les accessoires de l'emballage et vérifiez s'il y
a des dommages. Assurez-vous que tous les articles sur la liste de
pièces sont compris.
ASSEMBLAGE ET INSTALLATION
Les numéros de référence entre parenthèses (no1) se
rapportent à la liste de pièces comprise.
Préparez deux clés Allen (5 et 8 mm), deux clés à fourche (14
et 17 mm), un foret de 7/16 po convenant au matériau de
panneau de votre véhicule et une perceuse électrique.

INSTALLATION DU SUPPORT AVANT
1. Déterminez si vous voulez installer le support sur le côté
gauche ou droit de la plate-forme de camion.
2. Vérifiez les surfaces d’installation et assurez-vous qu’il n’y a
aucun fil caché ou aucune structure avant de percer ou
d’enfoncer des vis.
3. Placez la patte de fixation avant (no2) sur la cloison de la
plate-forme de camion. Le montant avec une fente et deux
trous de boulon est boulonné de chaque côté de la section
verticale. Le montant avec un seul trou de boulon est
boulonné dans la gaine de potelet latérale.
4. Placez la patte de fixation avant sur la cloison afin que la
plaque d’appui (no18) soit de niveau avec le côté opposé
de la surface.
5. Mettez la patte de fixation du support de niveau et
marquez un trou dans le trou de boulon gauche sur la
cloison, puis marquez le trou de boulon pour la gaine de
potelet. Mettez la patte de fixation de côté et utilisez la
plaque d’appui comme gabarit pour marquer le deuxième
trou de boulon. Vérifiez de nouveau l’espacement avec la
patte de fixation.
6. Percez les trous de 7/16 po dans la cloison. Percez ensuite
le trou de la gaine de potelet.
7. Insérez un support vertical (no6) dans la partie inférieure de
la patte de fixation avant (no2). Positionnez le pied sur la
plate-forme de camion. Retirez le pied sur un échelon, le cas
échéant. Tournez le support de 90 degrés à la fois jusqu’à une
position solide. Retirez toute obstruction sous le pied.
8. Glissez une rondelle plate M10 (no11) sur un boulon
hexagonal M10 x 45 (no9) et insérez-le dans chaque trou
de boulon sur la patte de fixation avant et la cloison.
Placez la plaque d’appui (no18) sur les boulons
qui dépassent.

9. Glissez une rondelle plate M10 (no11), une rondelle-frein M10
(no12) et un écrou M10 (no13) sur chaque boulon qui dépasse.
Serrez l’écrou pour fixer la patte de fixation solidement.
10. Répétez les étapes 8 et 9 pour fixer la patte de fixation à
l’emplacement de la gaine de potelet.
11. Réglez le support vertical (no6) pour qu’il soit d’aplomb.
12. Marquez la plate-forme de camion à l’endroit où se trouvent
les trous de boulon du pied. Percez 2 trous de 7/16 po.
13. Glissez une rondelle plate M10 sur un boulon hexagonal M10 x
45 et insérez-le dans chaque trou de boulon dans le pied et la
plate-forme de camion.
14. Glissez une rondelle plate M10, une rondelle-frein M10 et un
écrou M10 sur chaque boulon qui dépasse. Serrez les écrous
pour fixer le support vertical.
INSTALLATION DU SUPPORT
ARRIÈRE
15. Positionnez la patte de fixation arrière sur la paroi
intérieure du camion au niveau de la gaine de potelet
arrière. La patte de fixation doit être placée le plus haut
possible et près du centre de la gaine de potelet afin
d’accéder à la quincaillerie.
16. Marquez et percez deux trous de 7/16 po en utilisant la
collerette de la patte de fixation arrière comme gabarit.
17. Insérez un support vertical (no6) dans la patte de fixation
arrière (no1).
18. Glissez une rondelle plate M10 (no11) sur un boulon
hexagonal M10 x 45 (no9) et insérez-le dans chaque trou de
boulon sur la collerette de la patte de fixation arrière. Glissez
une rondelle plate M10 (no11), une rondelle-frein M10 (no12)
et un écrou M10 (no13) sur chaque boulon qui dépasse.
Serrez l’écrou pour fixer la patte de fixation solidement.
