Congratulations on your new Nàutic!
NÀUTIC is an innovative lifeboat that allows you to move through the water in a
silent and ecological way without producing emissions. It has been designed
with special attention to hydrodynamics, ergonomics in handling and remote
control. NÀUTIC is a high-performance product with advanced technology that
can be used as a USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) or as a manned vehicle.
NÀUTIC, due to its use in rescue and salvage tasks, requires operators to take
specific precautions during its start-up, maintenance and handling.
READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE USE.
The following symbols will be used throughout the manual to indicate alerts
and dangers.

features specified in this Operations Manual at any time without prior notice
due to continuous product development, optimization, and improvements in
design and features that it carries out. The features and functions described
and illustrated in this Operation Manual may differ from the actual features and

1. Safety information
Please read the following important information! Not
doing so can cause death, serious injury
or property damage.
NÀUTIC is a device with the ability to be manned or piloted by remote control,
capable of coming to the rescue of 1 and even 2 people at sea. It can be used on
beaches, ports and as a means of rescue on ships and offshore platforms. It can
also be thrown into the water from a helicopter in air rescues. The product meets
current standards and is safe to handle. However, using this product in a wrong
way or in breach of the safety information described herein may endanger the
operator and/or other persons in danger of injury or even death. In addition, the
NÀUTIC and/or other properties of the operator or of other people may be dama-
ged or destroyed due to misuse of the product.
For this reason, we urge you to read the Operations Manual and the safety infor-
mation contained in the manual carefully before operating the NÀUTIC for the first
time. The information contained in the Operations Manual will help you handle
the NÀUTIC safely, protecting you and others from dangers and threats, avoiding
damage to the product and property of third parties.
Keep this Operations Manual in a safe and easily accessible place for reference use
whenever necessary. Please do not throw away the packaging, it can be used later
to provide protection for the device (for example in cases of sending it to a techni-
cal service).

• Constantly during, longer periods of storage.
At least once every 7 days.
The load should be the minimum load value for
“Air transport/storage“, avoiding
thus the complete and irreparable discharge
of the precious lithium-ion battery of
high capacity.

that rotate!
• Check battery charge to return to land/ship on time!
• Do not store in direct sunlight or in hot places!
Special information about the charger
• Important! Follow the Operations Manual!
• Do not expose directly to sunlight! Do not open!
• Use only with clean and dry sockets!
• Never use if the cables or plugs are damaged!
• Only charge in dry, cool and well-ventilated places!
• Do not cover! Ensure good air circulation!
• The charger gets hot with use, wait for it to cool down before hand-
ling it!
Special information about batteries
• Do not heat above 60 °C!
• Do not store in direct sunlight or in hot places!
• Do not short circuit!
• Do not open!
• Do not poke!
• Don't hit!
• Do not burn!
• Only use chargers provided by the NÀUTIC manufacturer!
• Only charge in dry places! Do not open the battery cover in the
water!
• Do not transport fully charged batteries by plane or long distances!
• Follow the instructions for loading, unloading, storage and trans-
portation!
• If the instructions are ignored, the batteries can produce gases and
flames, causing serious damage!

General security information concerning the user
• Only advanced swimmers over the age of 16 can use NÀUTIC.
• Like any motor vehicle, people operating the device must do so
responsibly and with due caution.
• The use of NÀUTIC by people with pacemakers is not allowed. The
strong magnetic fields created by the motor and electrical cables
can cause significant damage to pacemakers and even death.
• The handling of NÀUTIC by pregnant women is not allowed. During
handling, the appliance may press against the abdomen and/or the
jet of water coming out of the appliance may press on the abdo-
men, causing injury.
•Never ride NÀUTIC under the influence of alcohol, medication or
drugs. The people controlling NÀUTIC must be able to react quickly.
Alcohol, some medicines and drugs can considerably reduce a
person's reflexes.
• The appliance is equipped with protection grids, however it is tech-
nically impossible to prevent the entry of objects, especially pieces
of clothing, threads or long hair, into the channel of the impellers
and to prevent them from becoming entangled around the shaft
due to the great suction force of the the thrusters. If this occurs
there is a risk of damage.
• The impacts of water against your body can be exhausting but will
also lower your body temperature. We recommend the use of a
neoprene suit that provides protection.
General security information concerning NÀUTIC
• Never insert anything into the channels of the impellers while they
are rotating. Keep an eye on people (especially children) near
NÀUTIC to make sure they do not try to insert anything into the
propulsion channel.
•Confirm that the propulsion channel cover is not damaged and that
it is correctly and firmly attached to the NÀUTIC body. Never
remove the protection grids. Caution! The propellant can cause
damage.
• Make sure that no foreign objects, sand, dirt, strings, or dirt get into
the propulsion channel. Never remove foreign objects from the
channel while the device is in the water. Danger of damage!

• Never open or disassemble any NÀUTIC component or manhole
cover.
• Never insert objects into the channel. It can cause damage.
• Never leave the NÀUTIC unattended to prevent children or other
inexperienced people from using it. Turn off the appliance after use.
• NÀUTIC is a heavy product, make sure that it does not fall on you or
other people in the water and on land. If this occurs there is a risk of
damage.
• Always keep the NÀUTIC in the shade. It is important to remember
that batteries and charger naturally heat up when exposed to the
sun. Attention! Touching hot surfaces can cause burns. If batteries
are exposed to heat they can produce gases and flames causing
serious damage.
• Securely moor the NÀUTIC if you decide to leave it in the water for a
very short period. Make sure it cannot get loose, it can cause
damage to other people or objects in its path if it gets loose.
• Never loosen or remove battery caps. Always take precautions to
prevent the transmission of current between the batteries and the
water. If this happens there may be a short circuit that can irrepara-
bly damage the electronic system. Water can damage batteries by
producing gases and flames that can cause damage.
• Before charging the NÀUTIC, make sure that both the mains plug
and the charger plug are clean, dry and undamaged. Wet or dirty
connections can cause short circuits. If this happens, it can cause
irreparable damage to the device and even fire.
• Make sure the joystick works correctly. When you release them the
device should turn off immediately. The joystick must be able to
move freely in all positions and return to the neutral position when
released. A damaged or bent joystick must be replaced or repaired
immediately. If the joystick does not work correctly, turn off the
NÀUTIC with the corresponding button immediately.
• Clean the appliance with a hose. Never use a high pressure system.
• Never open the NÀUTIC yourself, repairs and maintenance of the
appliance that go beyond the procedures described in chapter 7
“Care and maintenance” can only be carried out by an authorized
technician. Any manipulation of the device may be harmful to
people or the device.

• Do not alter or modify the NÀUTIC, batteries or charger. Doing so
can cause serious damage or even death.
• If you detect any damage to the device, especially to the batteries,
charging plug, casing or joints between the batteries and the
NÀUTIC, stop using the device immediately and contact the techni-
cal service.
General safety information concerning handling
• NÀUTIC operators do not have any special right to use the device.
They must act responsibly and prudently, taking all necessary pre-
cautions.
• Grip the joystick securely. Acceleration can be quite rough especia-
lly at start.
• To brake, simply release the joystick and it will just return to the
center position, immediately bringing the device to a stop. Please
note that it may take 2-3 meters to come to a complete stop if you
are traveling at full speed. You can reduce the distance it takes you
to come to a complete stop by turning the NÀUTIC sharply to the
side and righting yourself without letting go of the boat. This helps
you maintain control of the NÀUTIC and greatly increases water
resistance, so you can come to a complete stop as quickly as possi-
ble.
• If the NÀUTIC is released while traveling at full speed, the boat can
continue to move up to approx. 3m. When this occurs, there is a risk
of people being hurt and foreign objects being damaged. The
NÀUTIC can also be damaged.
• Always avoid areas where boats pass. NÀUTIC's body is made of
plastic and for physical reasons it is not capable of reflecting radar
waves properly. Be aware of the speed with which the other vessels
are approaching. Pay attention to what is happening in the distan-
ce, preventing collisions.
• Do not operate the appliance in places where the water is less than
1m deep. Doing so may cause injury to you or NÀUTIC due to hitting
underwater objects. Stay away from the shore and do not attempt
to navigate the device onto sand or dirt of any kind. Be careful with
rocky bottoms, reefs and rocks.
• NÀUTIC's handling time is limited. Always keep an eye on the led
panel that shows the remaining running time and return to land or
escort ship on time.

• When the battery is discharged below 5% of its state of charge, the
maximum power is automatically reduced incrementally (80%, 70%,
60%, etc.) to prolong battery life.
• In most cases, the user's general civil liability insurance does not
cover material damage caused by the use of NÀUTIC. Before using
NÀUTIC, we recommend that you contact your insurance provider
for information on a suitable insurance policy to cover damages.
General safety information concerning batteries
• Never expose the NÀUTIC unit to high temperatures (max: 60
°C/140 °F), such as those caused by campfires or direct sunlight, nor
store it locked in a motor vehicle or trunk.
•In case of exposure to heat, flammable gases may be discharged
and cause serious injury or death.
• Never transport the fully loaded NÀUTIC unit by plane or over long
distances. The NÀUTIC unit must only be partially charged during
transport (charge status “Air transport/storage”). If the instructions
are not followed, flammable gases can be released and cause
serious injury or death!
General safety instructions for transport
• Ground Transportation (ADR): Built-in rechargeable batteries
correspond to paragraph 2.2.9.1.7 of ADR.
• Shipping by sea (IMDG code): Built-in rechargeable batteries corres-
pond to paragraph 2.9.4 of the IMDG code.
• Air transport (IATA DGR): Built-in rechargeable batteries correspond
to IATA DGR subsection 3.9.2.6.

• For use under normal conditions, the chemicals contained in each
high-capacity lithium-ion battery are encased in a sealed case, to
store the unit safely in any position. In addition, the individual cells
are contained in the batteries' hermetic aluminum profile, which
helps dissipate heat. Due to this protection, there is only a risk of
flammable gases being released if the battery cells have been sub-
jected to excessive mechanical stress or heat.
• When charging the NÀUTIC unit, always follow the instructions
detailed in this Operation Manual (see chapter 4.4 “Charging
mode”).
• Use only chargers provided by PROTEUS INNOVATION S.L. and
manufactured for each specific NÀUTIC model. Chargers provided
by other manufacturers are not equipped with the special micro-
processor-controlled charge management system for the protec-
tion of high-capacity lithium-ion batteries. When charging batteries
with other chargers, flammable gases may be released and cause
serious injury. Also, the use of other chargers will void the warranty.
• Beware of strong electrical currents generated during charging.
Never use the charger if the outlet is damaged or does not have a
sufficient current rating (the outlet must be approved for use with
currents of at least 10A). This can cause the cord to catch fire and
cause electrical shock, causing serious injury or death.
• Check that there are no dried salt deposits on the contacts of the
connection port or the connector (see chapter 7 “Care and mainte-
nance”). Salt deposits can inhibit the flow of electricity during char-
ging and cause overheating of the electrical contacts, causing irre-
parable damage to the contacts and even fire affecting the con-
tacts or the cable.

2. Appropriate use
NÀUTIC is a boat for water sports powered by an electric propeller and a professio-
nal rescue boat. It is equipped with navigation lights and is designed to carry up to
three (3) people [one (1) pilot and two (2) rescuers or (3) rescuers]. The boat is desig-
ned for use in water that is at least 1m deep. The NÀUTIC is highly resistant to
seawater and suitable for use in both fresh and salt water. The device is made only
of materials that do not rust and are highly resistant to corrosion. The following
rules apply to the operation of the NÀUTIC:
• The operator of the device must be over 16 years of age and, if piloting it, a good
swimmer. People who do not know how to swim cannot pilot NÀUTIC
• Children under 16 years of age can only use NÀUTIC under the supervision of an
adult.
• NÀUTIC has not been designed as a swimming aid. Users could lose the device
in the water. NÀUTIC is not a substitute for a life jacket. For this reason you
should equip yourself with one when trading.
• NÀUTIC has a maximum power delivery of 2.5kW. The law in some countries
does not require registration or permits to pilot vessels of this type. However, in
some countries there may be different regulations, age limits or operating
restrictions. Before piloting the aircraft, always ask about the local regulations
in the area in which you wish to operate. The manufacturer assumes no respon-
sibility for obtaining this information.
• Do not use NÀUTIC in areas with bathers and divers. Except in case of professio-
nal rescue use.
• Generally, NÀUTIC can be used in areas where boats with combustion engines
are not allowed. The use of NÀUTIC is not allowed in areas where electric pro-
pulsion boats are not allowed by local laws, community rules, and natural con-
servation laws. You are urged to inform yourself of local laws and regulations.
For more information you should consult the corresponding local offices.
•Take your time to learn how to handle NÀUTIC correctly. Only attempt difficult
maneuvers such as high-speed driving or rescue approaches after you have
achieved a high level of basic maneuvers such as braking/stopping in water,
direction changes, and weight changes. Limit your speed to always stay in
control of the appliance at all times. Use NÀUTIC responsibly and considerate of
people, animals, plants and the environment.
• Always use NÀUTIC with a known person within a range of visibility and who is
attentive while you operate the device. Get a companion vessel if you want to
operate far from shore. Doing this ensures that there is always someone nearby
who can support you in an emergency.

•Stay away from aquatic plants and floating objects such as pieces of rope,
plastic, or wood to prevent the motor impellers from being sucked in and
damaged. Avoid getting too close to shore, rocky bottoms, and reefs.
• Do not operate the NÀUTIC in water less than 1m deep to prevent sand or
stones from entering the propulsion channels, damaging the device.
•Allow only people over 16 years of age who have been correctly identified and
after having given them all the instructions to drive NÀUTIC.
• Never run the engine out of the water for more than 10 seconds. The joints and
mechanisms of the propellers are designed to work exclusively in the water.
Operating it out of water can cause overheating, causing irreparable damage
to the device.
• When charging the batteries, follow the steps in chapter 5.2 “Battery charging”
3. What does Nàutic include?
This must be the content of the box that comes with NÀUTIC:
• A NÀUTIC marine rescue drone from PROTEUS INNOVATION S.L.
• A pair of batteries installed in the appliance.
• A battery charger to charge the device.
• A pre-assembled restraint harness.
• A remote control with two antennas.
• Operations manual.
Please ensure that all components have been included in your delivery.
Batteries are delivered partially charged. To avoid fully discharging the batteries,
you should charge them immediately upon receipt. Use only the original
NÀUTIC charger.
Charge the batteries after each use and during long periods of storage to at
least the “transport charge” level to avoid total battery discharge which can be
irreparable in Lithium Ion batteries. Be sure to read the battery information in
the operating manual.

Note: It is possible that in low battery levels of the controller, the audio may not
work correctly.
IMPORTANT! Place the antennas as indicated in the diagram. With the
radio control in the same position as seen in the image above, the longer
antenna (control) is installed in the thread on the right and the shorter
antenna (audio) in the thread on the left.
IMPORTANT! The NÀUTIC remote control is not waterproof, so avoid get-
ting it wet or splashed. If it gets wet and damaged, it could void the
warranty

4.3. Operation of the marine dron rescue Nautic
4.3.1 On, off and communication with the radio control
To connect NÀUTIC with your remote, follow steps 1 and 2.
Turn on NAUTIC
Press the joystick button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep.
The battery indicator leds on the NÀUTIC screen will light up
automatically.
Turn on and connect the radio control.
Press the on/off button on the remote to turn it on. Next is
the blue leds on the remote control screen and NÀUTIC will light up.

• Turn off the controller, press the on/off switch again.
• To turn off the NÀUTIC, press the joystick button again for 3 seconds until
a beep is heard and the lights turn off

4.3.2 Operating modes
NÀUTIC has two piloting or operating modes. One "radio control" to
rescue active victims, without putting the life of the rescuer at risk,
and another "propellant" to save passive or very serious victims.

To navigate with NÀUTIC in thruster mode, lie forward, hold on tight and
move the joystick in the desired direction.
Radio control mode.
To navigate with NÀUTIC by radio control, all you have to do is turn on
the remote control, so that it will only connect to your NÀUTIC, and
move the remote control joystick to direct it towards the desired destination.

In the event that NÀUTIC capsizes, it can return to its original navi-
gation position by moving the control joystick downwards to initiate
self-righting and flip it over.
Always monitor the state of charge of the battery. Take into account the
remaining battery time and the time needed to return to land/ship.
Note: NEVER launch the NÀUTIC from a height greater than 1 m.
Note: Over long distances, the information displayed by the remote may
radio control on the NÀUTIC device is not accurate.
Note: If you perceive that NÀUTIC is working incorrectly, avoid its use.

4.4.1 NAUTIC device charging
To charge the NÀUTIC unit, proceed as follows:
1. Place the NÀUTIC unit on a firm and dry surface that will not damage the
components.
2. Using a soft, clean cloth, dry the area around the connection port.
3. Turn the threaded cap of the connection port counterclockwise against
slight resistance and remove it from the connection port.
4. Check that the inside of the connection port is completely clean and dry.

4.4. Charge mode
Never expose the NÀUTIC unit, the RADIO CONTROL and their char-
gers to high temperatures (max: 60 °C/140 °F), such as those caused
by campfires or direct sunlight, nor store them locked in a motor
vehicle or trunk .
In case of exposure to heat, flammable gases may be discharged and
cause serious injury or death. Also, the screen can be permanently
damaged if it is exposed to heat.
Protect the chargers, especially the connector and the main plug, as
well as the connection port of the NÀUTIC unit and the RADIO CON-
TROL, so that they are not damaged or exposed to dirt, dust, humidity
or heat.
Danger of electric shock! Charge only in dry, cool and well-ventilated
places. Never use the charger if any of the cables or plugs are dama-
ged. Doing so can result in electric shock, causing serious injury or
death.
Use only chargers provided by PROTEUS INNOVATION S.L. and manu-
factured for each specific NÀUTIC model and its RADIO CONTROL
CONTROL.
During the charging process, do not place any object on the NÀUTIC
unit, its RADIO CONTROL, or on the chargers, to ensure that the heat
generated during the charging process dissipates properly (cooling by
convection). Verify that air can circulate freely. If a charger gets hot, the
output current is automatically reduced to prevent a thermal overload.
If this happens, the charging process is prolonged accordingly. If the
NÀUTIC unit is hot, let it cool down before charging it.

5. Check that the charger connector is correctly positioned before
plugging it into the connection port of the NÀUTIC unit and then
proceed to screw it.
7. The two charger LEDs turn red, indicating that charging has started.
The cooling fans will start. DO NOT cover the vents
Warning: It is normal for the battery temperature to rise during char-
ging. The temperature is monitored electronically.
If the battery overheats, the battery management system temporarily
stops the charging process.
The charge of the NÀUTIC unit is controlled automatically by the elec-
tronic system of the charger and the battery management system
(BMS).
8. Once the two charger leds turn green, it is indicative of that charging of
both batteries is complete.
Observe the technical specifications of the charger, especially regar-
ding the correct input voltage (see "Charger Data Sheet" attached to
the charger).
If you take the charger to another country, use only travel plugs
approved for currents of at least 10 A.
6. Only after doing this can you plug the charger plug into the
wall socket.
