RED ROCK OD ROD-1
OWNER’S MANUAL
Thank you for choosing Providence. In order to take full advantage of the product’s features and performance, please read this manual
thoroughly and keep it in a safe place for future reference.
■Main Features
● W rm overdrive with plenty of sust in gives guit rists wide-r nging expressive voice. The tone is perfect m tch for guit rs with single-coil pickups.
● An extr pre-g in circuit nd three level controls (VOLUME, GAIN, nd MASTER) m ke it possible to cre te distortion effects r nging from from crunch to
h rd drive with subtle control over ll nu nces in between.
● The pre-g in st ge nd volume control re simil r to guit r mp input circuits, llowing level compens tion for pickups of differing output s well s boost
before the sign l re ches the overdrive circuit.
● Speci lly voiced tone control circuitry m int ins optimum overdrive sound throughout the control r nge.
● Intern l circuitry doubles the 9-volt supply volt ge to 18 volts, chieving wide dyn mic r nge with impressive projection nd sense of unlimited depth.
● In convention l “true byp ss” circuits the guit r sign l p sses through two sets of switch cont cts when the effect is byp ssed. The ROD-1 fe tures n S.C.T
(Single Cont ct True-byp ss) circuit in which the sign l only p sses through one set of cont cts in byp ss mode. This incre ses reli bility while m int ining the
highest possible sound qu lity t ll times.
● Improved output j ck grounding is chieved with D.C.G (Double Cont ct Ground) circuit th t cont cts the mono plug ground sleeve t two points r ther
th n one. Incre sed ground cont ct re minimizes intermittent connections while ensuring m ximum sonic qu lity.
■Controls and Connectors
①VOLUMEAdjusts level t the pre-g in st ge.
②MASTERAdjusts the level of the sign l output t the OUT j ck.
③TONEAdjusts full-r nge ton l b l nce. Turn clockwise to emph size the midr nge nd dd “edge” to the sound.* Low-frequency compens tion is pplied t the s me time to
prevent the sound from becoming thin.
* Turning this control clockwise lso incre ses over ll level. Use the MASTER control to compens te s
necess ry.
④GAINAdjusts the mount of distortion produced.
⑤FATBoosts the low frequency r nge when eng ged. Flip the switch upw rd to boost the lows.
⑥LED IndicatorLights when the effect is ON. The LED will st rt to dim when the b ttery volt ge drops below pproxim te-
ly 7 volts. The effect will still function when the LED begins to dim, but perform nce m y not be optimum
nd the b ttery should be repl ced s soon s possible.
⑦INThe output from guit r, electronic music l instrument, or preceding effect ped l should be connected
here.
⑧OUTThis j ck should be connected to the input of n mplifier or effect unit.
⑨FootswitchTurns the effect ON or OFF.
⑩DC 9V IN ConnectorThe DC output from the supplied AC d ptor should be connected here.
Import nt:
The VOLUME nd GAIN controls re designed to provide high m ximum g in. When both controls re set
higher th n their 12 o’clock (middle) positions s tur tion will occur nd noise m y incre se. Oscill tion m y
occur when the m ximum settings re ppro ched. For optimum perform nce, when one of these controls is
set higher th n 12 o’clock the other should be set to below 12 o’clock
