Process #2 - Cleaning Dry Product
If the Pro-Blend Coupler vent is clogged or restricted with dried product
complete the following procedures. Remember to always use the required
personal protective equipment as per the product label.
1. Submerge the Coupler body in warm water or a suitable solvent where the
water level is just below the bottom of the raised handle lever.
Do not submerge the handle assembly. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
a) The solvent must be compatible with the seals and metal of the
Pro-Blend coupler body.
b) The “dry-break” seal on the face of the coupler must be seated.
Do not allow solvent into the coupler probe.
2. Remove from the water and place on a dry cloth.
3. Extend the probe and wipe clean of as much residual product as possible.
4. Using a small nylon bristle bottle-brush clean inside the bottom outer edge
of the coupler. Do not use a metal bristle brush.
5. Take care not to damage the coupler bottom seal. Remove it during cleaning
if necessary.
6. With a larger nylon bristle bottle-brush clean the vent pathway.
7. Retract the probe and place the Pro-Blend on an absorbent material and
allow to dry.
Use the #8564 Pro-Blend Rinsing Socket to remove damp product and residual
debris: Prior to use: Make sure the Rinsing Socket is stable and secured to a
work surface. Make sure the barbed inlet of the Rinsing Socket is connected to
an air, water, or suitable solvent source.
1. Mount the Pro-Blend to the Pro-Blend Rinsing Socket in the same manner
as mounting with a container valve.
2. On the vent pathway on the coupler, connect a discharge hose to the 1/4”
NPT inlet. Direct the discharge hose to a suitable disposal container.
Note: In cases where the product can be diluted with the solvent, the
rinsate can be directed back to the product container.
3. Engage the handle on the Coupler before turning on the air or solvent ow.
4. When pumping, whether air or solvent is used to clean the coupler, ensure
that low pressure is utilized. The objective is to remove product and
particulates from the pathway in a safe controlled manner.
5. When satised that the Pro-Blend coupler is sufciently clean, turn off the
air or solvent ow. Only after turning off the ow, disengage the Pro-Blend
from the Rinsing Socket.
6. Place the Pro-Blend on an absorbent material and allow to dry.
