!" Do NOT smoke when using the lawn mower and ensure caution
when handling fuel. We recommend you fuel the machine away
from where you wish to work to prevent any spilt fuel igniting
when you start the engine.
!" Ensure that bystanders, children and pets keep well away
when mowing and only allow persons familiar with these
instructions to use the lawn mower.
!" Inspect the lawn mower, and in particular the blade, before use for
any worn or damaged parts. Do not use until the parts are repaired
or replaced with parts approved by the manufacturer.
!" Before starting the engine make sure the lawn is clear of obstacles
such as stones, branches or children’s toys.
!" Always stop the engine when crossing gravel drives, walks or
roads. Stop the engine and allow the blade to stop rotating
before removing the grass bag for emptying.
!" Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug before clearing
blockages, cleaning or inspecting the mower.
!" Do not operate when raining and take particular care on damp
grass which can prove slippery, particularly on slopes.
!" When mowing on a slope always mow across the slope, not up
and down. Take care when changing direction. The slope should
not exceed 20 degrees.
2' Clean the mower after each use and, if storing for a prolonged
period, drain down the fuel in the tank. Remove the spark plug
and put a few drops of oil into the cylinder before pulling the
starter a couple of times to distribute the oil evenly. Replace the
spark plug. If you need to tilt the mower while cleaning always tip
it backwards, towards the handles, do not tip it on its side as this
will cause oil to enter the carburettor or exhaust.

ASSEMBLY
The lawn mower is shipped without oil or petrol in the
engine.
The mower has been assembled and tested in the factory and
only needs a small amount of assembly.
2' Remove the mower carefully from the box - it may be easier
to remove one side of the box and roll the machine out.
2' Depress the Operator Presence Control Bar Unfold
handles carefully so as not to pinchthe cables then raise
the lower handles. Fit the two bolts and wingnuts from the
parts bag, which will lock the lower handle into place. Raise
with the upper handle section so that it lines up with the lower
lower handle section. Tighten the wingnuts.
2' Fit the dashboard using the four bolts and nuts as shown in
the Fig.1 on page 6.
2' The diagram shows the position of the three parts of the
upper handle.
2' The brake lever (sometimes called the operator presence
control lever) must be pulled back towards the handle to
start the engine and during operation. If the lever is
released it will automatically stop the engine.
2' The drive control lever - pull this lever up towards the han-
dle to engage the self-propelled mode. If this is not engaged
the mower can be used in ‘push’ mode.
2' The engine speed has been set at the factory for optimum
performance - it is not adjustable.
Before your initial use of the mower and at the beginning
of every season, charge the battery for 5-6 hours.
2' The cutting height can be adjusted by a single lever through
5 positions from 25-75mm. The medium position is best for
most lawns. Under certain conditions, such as very tall grass,
it may be necessary to cut the grass twice, once on the highest
setting and then again on medium.
2' Fill the engine with SAE30 oil to the ‘full’ mark on the
dipstick. Check the level of the oil, it should be 500 to 600ml.
2' To connect the lower handle to the deck, insert a Bolt
M8x30/8.8 (QG105-19)into the lower hole from the outside of
the handle and secure with aFlat Washer (QG105-13), Knob
(QG105-18) and a Hex Nut M8x30/8.8 (QG105-15). Insert a
Carriage Bolt M8x25/8.8 (QG105-96) into the upper hole from
the inside of the handle and secure with a Flat Washer
(QG105-95), a Knob (QG105-10) and a Hex Nut M8/8.8
(QG105-15) as in Fig. 2 on page 6. If these steps are not
followed, your collection box may not fit correctly.

lawnmower will self-propel.

MAINTENANCE
Regular careful maintenance is essential for keeping the lawn-
mower in good condition.
2' Before each use, ensure that all bolts, nuts and screws are
tight.
2' After each use, allow the mower to cool down before clean-
ing off any grass and other debris. Use a brush or com-
pressed air and avoid getting water into the engine.
2' Never store the mower with petrol in the tank within an en-
closed area where it is possible for fumes to reach an open
#*9%'(-'08*-;1
2' When storing for a long period drain the mower of fuel after
the engine has cooled down. Do this outside to reduce any

season or every 50 hours of use. The Sump Plug is
located on the underneath of the machine deck.
Dispose of waste oil at your local recycling centre.
2' Clean the spark plug regularly and change every season.
To change the blades:
2' Drain the fuel tank by running the mower until the fuel tank
is empty and the engine stops.
2' Allow the engine to cool and then tip on to its left hand side
(air cleaner side uppermost).
2' Using gloves to protect your hands, undo the screw and re-
move the old blade and replace with a new one in the order
shown on the diagram below.
2' ?!/,4%"'4,%'0&-%:1
A damaged blade that is out of balance will cause the
mower to vibrate and may break. Check the condition of
the blade regularly.
