The portfolio case is a rugged, lightweight case for protecting your Slate PC and includes a
removable Bluetooth® keyboard. In addition to protecting your slate, the portfolio case can
be used as an easel to view your system conveniently, hands-free. When you pair up your
system with the Bluetooth keyboard, it’s similar to using a typical notebook computer. Be
sure to read this manual before installing your system into the case.

Inserting the System into the Portfolio Case
To ensure that your system is installed correctly in the portfolio case, perform the following
steps.
1. Place the case on a flat surface and open it by unsnapping the magnetic flap. (Figure 2)
2. Remove the Bluetooth keyboard by lifting it from the case (it is attached magnetically).
3. Open the slate compartment by peeling the Velcro flap from inside the compartment.
(Figure 2)
4. Align your system so that the fingerprint sensor and camera on the back of the system are
oriented the same as the matching openings on the back of the case. (Figure 3) Note that
the magnetic flap must be rotated 180oto reveal the web camera opening.
5. Slide the system fully into the slate compartment and re-attach the Velcro flap to the inside
rear of the compartment.
Adjusting the Stand
The case is designed so the system will sit upright in landscape configuration. To use the
system in upright position, pull the bottom of the magnetic stand away from the system as far
as the attachment ribbon will allow (Figure 4). You can now use the case as an easel.
Additional Features
Stylus Holder: The portfolio case has a handy stylus holder located in the center of the open
case (Figure 1). It’s good practice to stow your stylus when not in use in order to prevent
damage to it.
Stylus Tether Attachment Point: There is a stylus tether attachment point aligned with the
stylus holder (Fig. 1). Use this to attach your stylus to prevent losing it. To attach the tether, slip
the loop end under the attachment point, then thread the stylus through the loop and pull it
tight. To stow the tether, wrap it under the two “wings” on either side of the attachment point.

Caring for Your Portfolio Case
The portfolio is made of top-quality materials and is designed to withstand daily use. Treat the
portfolio as you would a briefcase or purse. Occasionally, the portfolio may become soiled. To
clean it, use a commercially available cleaner and follow the instructions contained with the
cleaner. Never submerge the portfolio in water.

Using the Bluetooth Keyboard
Prior to pairing your Bluetooth keyboard with your Slate PC, it must first be fully charged.
Charging the Bluetooth keyboard
1. Using the included charging cable, plug the Micro USB connector on the end of the cable
into the Micro USB port located on the right side of the Bluetooth keyboard (see Figure 5).
2. Plug the standard USB connector on the other end of the cable either into the included
Keyboard Power Adapter or any computer with a standard USB charging port. If the power
adapter is used, plug it into a standard power socket.
3. The Charging LED light on the Bluetooth keyboard will illuminate red showing charging is
in progress. (Please allow 4 to 6 hours for a full charge). The keyboard’s rechargeable bat-
tery charge should last up to 30 days, depending upon usage.

Pairing the Bluetooth keyboard with the system
1. Set the wireless device switch on your computer to ON position. With the slate in land-
scape position, the wireless device switch is on the right side of the unit.
2. Go to Start > Control Panel. If the Control Panel is in Category View, select Add a device
from the Hardware and Sound category; if the Control Panel is in Icon View, select the
Devices and Printers icon, then click Add a device from the menu bar.
3. Switch the On/Off switch on the right-hand side of the keyboard to ON position (Figure 5).
4. Press the pairing button on the right side of the keyboard (just to the right of the on/off
switch) for approximately two seconds, the pairing (linking) of the keyboard and computer
starts, and the pairing LED begins to blink in blue.
5. When you see the Bluetooth Keyboard icon under Add a device (Figure 6), click the icon
then click [Next].
6. The next screen displays the pairing code that is generated by the keyboard within 30 sec-
onds (Figure 7). When you see the pairing code, type it in using your Bluetooth keyboard,
and then press the [Enter] key.

7. A screen announcing “This device has been successfully added to this computer” is dis-
played. Click [Close] to exit the Add a device window.

Troubleshooting
My Bluetooth keyboard will not connect or enter pairing mode.
The keyboard can be connected only to one device at a time. If you have connected it to
another device, make sure that other device is out of range or powered off. Also try to restart
your keyboard.
My device doesn’t find my Bluetooth keyboard when searching.
Make sure your keyboard is in pairing mode when your device is searching. The blue LED on
the side of the keyboard will blink to indicate that it is in pairing mode. If it is not blinking, press
the pairing button next to the power switch to enter pairing mode.
My Bluetooth keyboard worked before, but is not working now.
First, be sure the keyboard is charged. Then check to make sure the Bluetooth feature of your
device was not turned off. Also try powering off your keyboard and device and powering them
both back on. You may also need to pair the keyboard with the device again.

La pochette protectrice est un étui léger et robuste, conçu pour protéger votre PC ardoise, qui
vous est livré avec un clavier Bluetooth® amovible. Outre la protection de votre PC ardoise,
cette pochette peut être utilisée comme chevalet réglable pour voir l’écran de votre système
dans l’angle qui vous convient, en gardant les mains libres. Lorsque vous combinez votre
système avec le clavier Bluetooth, vous avez l’impression d’utiliser un ordinateur portable
typique. Lisez ce manuel avant d’installer l’ordinateur dans la pochette protectrice.

Installation de l’ordinateur dans la pochette protectrice
Pour que votre ordinateur soit correctement installé dans la pochette protectrice, exécutez les
opérations suivantes.
1. Placez la pochette sur une surface plane et ouvrez-la en décollant le rabat magnétique (fig-
ure 2).
2. Retirez le clavier Bluetooth en le soulevant hors de la pochette (il est fixé magnétiquement).
3. Décollez la bande Velcro à l’intérieur du compartiment de l’ordinateur et ouvrez le comparti-
ment (figure 2).
4. Alignez le système afin que le capteur d’empreintes digitales et la caméra à l’arrière du sys-
tème soient orientés face aux ouvertures correspondantes sur l’arrière de la pochette
(figure3). Notez que le rabat magnétique doit être tourné sur 180º pour faire apparaître l’ori-
fice de la caméra.
5. Glissez l’ordinateur jusqu’au fond du compartiment et réinstallez la bande Velcro sur la par-
tie intérieure arrière du compartiment.
Réglage du chevalet
La pochette est conçue pour que le système soit debout en orientation horizontale. Pour utiliser
le système en position debout, tirez le bas du support magnétique en l’éloignant du système,
aussi loin que le permet le ruban (figure 4). Vous pouvez maintenant utiliser la pochette à titre
de chevalet.
Caractéristiques supplémentaires
Porte-stylet : La pochette protectrice est dotée d’un porte-stylet pratique au centre de la
pochette ouverte (figure 1). Il est recommandé de ranger le stylet entre chaque utilisation pour
éviter de l’endommager.
Point d'attache du cordon du stylet : Vous trouverez un point d’attache pour le cordon du
stylet, aligné avec le porte-stylet (figure 1). Utilisez-le pour attacher votre stylet et éviter de le
perdre. Pour attacher le cordon, glissez la boucle sous le point d’attache, puis enfilez le stylet
dans la boucle et tirez pour serrer. Pour ranger le cordon, glissez-le sous les deux ailes de
chaque côté du point d’attache.

Entretien de votre pochette protectrice
La pochette protectrice est fabriquée avec des matériaux de qualité supérieure, pouvant
supporter un usage quotidien. Traitez votre pochette protectrice comme si c’était une mallette
ou un sac à main. Si votre pochette devient sale, vous pouvez la nettoyer avec un produit
nettoyant ordinaire, conformément aux instructions du fabricant. Ne submergez jamais la
pochette dans l’eau.

Utilisation du clavier Bluetooth
Avant de jumeler votre clavier Bluetooth avec votre PC ardoise, vous devez d’abord vous
assurer qu’il est complètement chargé.
Chargement du clavier Bluetooth
1. Prenez le câble de charge inclus et branchez la fiche de connexion Micro USB à
l’extrémité du câble sur la prise Micro USB située sur le côté droit du clavier Bluetooth (fig-
ure 5).
2. Branchez la fiche de connexion USB standard à l’autre extrémité du câble sur l’adaptateur
d’alimentation de clavier inclus ou sur un ordinateur doté d’un port de recharge USB stan-
dard. Si l’adaptateur d’alimentation est utilisé, branchez-le sur une prise électrique stan-
dard.
3. Le voyant de charge sur le clavier Bluetooth s’allume en rouge pour indiquer que la charge
est en cours. (Veuillez prévoir 4 à 6 heures pour une charge complète.) La charge de la
batterie rechargeable du clavier devrait durer jusqu’à 30 heures, selon l'usage que vous en
ferez.

Jumelage du clavier Bluetooth avec le système
1. Faites glisser le commutateur de dispositif sans fil de votre ordinateur à la position de
marche (ON). Alors que le PC ardoise est en position horizontale, le commutateur du dis-
positif sans fil est situé sur le côté droit de l’appareil.
2. Allez à Démarrer > Panneau de configuration. Si le panneau de configuration est sur Affi-
chage des catégories, sélectionnez Ajouter un périphérique dans la catégorie Matériel et
son. Si le panneau de configuration est sur Affichage des icônes, sélectionnez l’icône
Périphériques et imprimantes, puis cliquez sur Ajouter un périphérique dans la barre de
menus.
3. Placez le commutateur marche/arrêt situé sur le côté droit du clavier sur la position marche
(ON) (figure 5).
4. Enfoncez le bouton de jumelage situé sur le côté droit du clavier (juste à droite du commuta-
teur marche/arrêt) pendant environ deux secondes. La procédure de jumelage du clavier
avec l’ordinateur débute et le voyant de jumelage clignote en bleu.
5. Lorsque vous apercevez l’icône du clavier Bluetooth sous Ajouter un périphérique (figure
6), cliquez sur cette icône, puis cliquez sur [Suivant].
6. En moins de 30 secondes, l’écran affiche le code de jumelage généré par le clavier.
Lorsque vous apercevez ce code de jumelage, tapez-le avec votre clavier Bluetooth et
appuyez sur [Entrée].

7. Vous voyez apparaître un message vous avisant que le périphérique a bien été ajouté
à l’ordinateur. Cliquez sur [Fermer] pour quitter la fenêtre Ajouter un périphérique.

Dépannage
Mon clavier Bluetooth ne se connecte pas ou n’entre pas en mode de jumelage.
Le clavier peut être connecté à un seul appareil à la fois. Si vous l’avez précédemment
connecté à un autre appareil, assurez-vous que l’autre appareil est hors de portée ou éteint.
Essayez de redémarrer votre clavier.
Lorsque j’exécute une recherche, mon appareil ne trouve pas le clavier Bluetooth.
Assurez-vous que le clavier est en mode de jumelage lorsque votre appareil le cherche. Le
voyant bleu sur le côté du clavier clignote lorsque le mode de jumelage est activé. Si ce voyant
ne clignote pas, appuyez sur le bouton de jumelage à côté du commutateur de marche/arrêt
pour activer le mode de jumelage.
Mon clavier Bluetooth a déjà fonctionné mais il ne répond plus.
Premièrement, assurez-vous que votre clavier est chargé. Assurez-vous ensuite que la fonc-
tion Bluetooth de votre appareil n’a pas été désactivée. Essayez ensuite d’éteindre le clavier et
votre appareil, puis de les remettre en marche. Vous pouvez ensuite essayer de répéter la
procédure de jumelage du clavier avec votre appareil.
