The Light Engine Defined “Lamp-to-Lens”

• Prism system
– The laser-like beam enters the prism and is divided into
three primary colors (red, green, blue).

These three individual streams of light are directed to corresponding
light valves (imagers) where they pick up the modulated video
content as they are reflected off the surface of the imager.
- Each LCOS television has a 3-imager system capable of
precise color reproduction.
- Reflective imagers provide up to 25% more light than a
transmissive (LCD) system.
- Each imager is capable of displaying 1280 x 720P information.
This translates to over 900,000 pixels of information per
imager, totaling 2.76 million individually addressable pixels
for the total system.
– The three streams of light, each with the same video signal
attached, recombine within the prism into a single synchronized,
perfectly aligned HDTV image.
• 11 element lens system
– The perfectly aligned image exits the prism system and enters
an 11 element lens system, which magnifies the image 70 times
into a 50" widescreen HDTV picture.
– Lens system is color-corrected to enhance picture quality.
– The entire lens system has an anti-reflective (AR)
coating which helps optimize light output.
