GETTING TO KNOW YOUR HOUSING, NOMINCLATURE

ISO/Mode Double Dial
The ISO Dial is on the bottom with Mode Dial on top. When pressure is placed on the ISO
Dial and turned, both housing dials will turn but only the camera's ISO Dial setting will be
manipulated. When pressure is placed on the Mode Dial, only the Mode Dial will turn. If
due to underwater pressure the Mode Dial setting is manipulated when setting ISO:
①
Apply pressure only to the ISO and turn to desired setting.
②
While holding ISO portion of double dial stationary, turn Mode Dial to desired setting.
Telephoto/Wide Lock Screw
Use the Telephoto/Wide Lock Screw to lock Zoom Lever after setting wide focus when
using a dedicated optional wide port. Accidentally zooming in may cause damage to the

lens and port.
Strobe Mask/External Strobe Connection Mount Screw Hole
For External Strobe, use External Strobe Connection Mount.
Port Lock Button
Use when removing the port. While pressing the Port Lock Button, rotate Lens Port
clockwise until it stops.
※
Please refer to camera manual for explanation of button functions.
※
The housing Exposure Compensation Dial, ISO Speed Dial, and Mode Dial are designed to
turn the corresponding camera dials back and forth via friction from the o-ring that comes
in contact the camera dials inside the housing. Should the dials begin to slip, use a soft
dry cloth to wipe away any oil and other contaminates that may cause the loss of friction.
OPENING AND CLOSING THE BACK COVER
※
Please do the following operations in a clean area with low humidity and dust.
①
To open, while pressing the Open & Close Lock Button, turn the Open & Close Dial to the
right (clockwise ). Due to pressurization, the back cover may be difficult to open, turn
strongly.
CAUTION! Due to pressurization, water on and around the closure by be sucked in at time of
opening. Please be sure to wipe excess water from housing before opening.
※
NOTE: Firmly press Lock Button while turning dial. Failing to do so may cause damage to
locking mechanisms.
②
The back cover will open once the dial is turn completely to the right.
③
To close, seat back cover into place and press firmly (Note: Dial will turn to the left
(counterclockwise). While pressing the Open & Close Lock Button, turn the Open & Close
Dial completely to the left making sure the Open & Close Lock Button is engaged (Note: If
lock button is flush with dial base the lock is not engaged properly.)
CAUTION! Before using, please be sure the test the housing (without camera) in bucket or
aquarium if available. After use in salt water, rinse thoroughly in a bucket of fresh water

without fail, pressing all buttons several times to flush out salt deposits and other
contaminants. Allowing saltwater and contaminants to dry on housing can damage functions
and O-Ring. Clean with fresh water only, using a soft, dry cloth to wipe away water.
INSTALLING CAMERA
※
Please perform proper Housing and Port O-RING MAINTENANCE prior to installation.
※
Please conduct the following operations in a clean area with low humidity and dust.
※
Camera can be inserted with lens port attached.
1. Make sure the housing Exposure Compensation Dial, ISO Speed Dial, and Mode Dial are
pulled (or pushed) outward away from housing, and the Zoom Level is free (i.e., the
Telephoto/Wide Lock Screw is not engaged). If this is not done, the camera's dials and
will come in contact with the housing dials' internal part not allowing the camera to be
properly seated.
2. Check camera settings, and that battery charge and media storage capacity are
sufficient. Slowly and carefully install camera making sure camera does not hit housing's
internal controls. If the camera is not inserted correctly, buttons, dials, and levers may not
work properly.
3. Push housing Exposure Compensation Dial, ISO Speed Dial, and Mode Dial down and
into place.
4. After performing O-Ring Maintenance, carefully close back cover, then securely close
back cover making sure nothing is caught between the back cover and housing, and that
the Open & Close Dial is in the locked position. Double check to make sure the back
cover securely locked into place.
5. After conducting proper O-Ring Maintenance on the appropriate Port for the lens to be to
be used, attach Lens Port to Housing Port Mount.
6. Fill a bucket with water and perform Pre-Dive Check. Immerse Housing (with Port
attached) several times, starting with short intervals, gradually lengthening time, checking
for water leakage after each interval.
7. When entering water use a method of water entry that protects the housing from shock,
which can cause water leakage. If at all possible have Housing handed to you after
entering the water.
REMOVING CAMERA
CAUTION! After use in water, water will remain in gaps between housing, back cover and
Open & Close Dial. Wipe any water off housing with a soft dry towel to prevent water from
falling on camera.
1. Pull Exposure Compensation Dial, ISO Speed Dial, and Mode Dial outward away from
housing, and make sure the Zoom Level free (i.e., the Telephoto/Wide Lock Screw is not
engaged).
2. Open the back cover as instructed above.
3. Tip Housing backwards, gently sliding camera out of housing.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION! Allowing saltwater and contaminants to dry on housing can damage functions and
O-Rings possibly causing water leakage. Clean with fresh water only, using a soft, dry cloth
to wipe away water.
※
We recommend a complete Housing overhaul once every year.
1. After use in salt water, wash off salt and other contaminants by soaking empty Housing,
with Lens Port attached, thoroughly in a bucket of fresh water (lukewarm) for 10 to 20
minutes.
2. Manipulate all buttons and dials several times to flush out salt deposits and other
contaminants.
3. Wipe any water off Housing with a soft dry cloth.
4. Remove Lens Port and open Back Cover.
5. Using the O-Ring Removal Pick, remove O-Rings.
6. Clean O-Ring grooves and contact surfaces using a clean cotton swab. DO NOT clean
Housing or optional Lens Ports with volatile organic solvents or chemical cleaning agents
such as thinner, gasoline, and benzine, etc.
7. Perform O-RING GREASING & MAINTENANCE as instructed below before re-installing.
※
O-RING GREASING & MAINTENANCE ( 1)
※
Before conducting grease-up of the housing Back Cover and Port O-Rings, thoroughly
clean O-Ring grooves (cover and port), and O-Ring contact surfaces (cover and port). Be
sure to also apply a very thin layer of grease to contact surfaces.
1. Using the O-Ring Removal Pick, remove O-Rings.
2. Clean sand, salt, other contaminants and old grease from O-Rings.
3. Clean O-Ring grooves and O-Ring contact surfaces using a clean cotton swab.
4. Visually and physically check O-Ring by running it through finger tips, feeling for cuts,
cracks or any other defects that may cause leakage. Such defects will cause water
leakage, so be sure to replace the O-Ring. Be careful not to stretch or pull the O-Ring too
much.
5. Squeeze a rice grain sized bead of silicone grease on your thumb and forefinger. Taking
care not to pull or stretch the O-Rings too much, uniformly spread grease on O-Ring. Too
little grease may cause the O-Ring to twist in the groove, possibly causing water leakage.
6. Place O-Ring in O-Ring grooves, making sure that it is uniform, not twisted or bulging out,
possibly causing water leakage. When closing back cover, visually check O-Ring surface,
tracing a finger over it making sure no hair, lint or other contaminants are attached.
Important Notes:
※
When Housing is not used for long periods, remove O-Ring, place in a plastic bag to keep
them free of dust and other contaminants and store in a place out of direct sunlight.
Please also be careful of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during use. The O-Rings
and Housing may become deformed, causing water leakage.
※
After extended periods of non-use, soak empty Housing, with Lens Port attached, in
lukewarm for half a day. Manipulate all buttons and dials several times. Using a soft, dry
cloth wipe away water.

CAUTION!
※
The O-Rings are an essential part of waterproofing for this housing. Not properly greasing
the O-Rings as direct may cause the O-Rings to twist in the O-Ring grooves, possibly
causing water leakage.
※
Always perform the above O-Ring, O-Ring groove and O-Ring surface maintenance and
greasing every time you open/close the housing.
※
Please pay close attention and make sure the O-Rings are not twisted or bulging, free of
any contaminants (dirt, hair, etc.), and that foreign objects do not obstruct proper closing
of the Housing back cover or attachment of the Lens Port.
※
DO NOT clean the Housing with volatile organic solvents or chemical cleaning agents
such as thinner, gasoline, and benzine, etc.
※
Housing Monitor is manufactured using hard coat acrylic. When cleaning use a clean soft
cloth taking care not to scratch it.
