These outputs are normally connected to the inputs of a line-stage preamplifier or a power amplifier.
The two GND terminals are grounding posts. If necessary, use one terminal to connect the turntable
ground to the preamplifier, and the other terminal to connect the preamplifier ground to the amplifier
ground.
Installing the Rosette 2
To install your Rosette 2 Preamplifier, follow these steps:
1. Choose a location for your preamplifier. To keep interference to a minimum it should be as
close to your turntable as possible. Allow at least one inch (2.5 cm) of clearance around the
top and sides of both pieces, and an inch (2.5 cm) between the two cases.
2. Connect the DC Input cable from the back of the preamplifier to the DC Output socket on the
back of the power supply. When the plug is in the right position, it will fit into the socket
easily. Do not try to force the plug.
3. Plug the audio cables from your turntable into the inputs of the preamplifier. If you are using
a moving coil cartridge, use the MC INPUT connectors. If you are using a moving magnet
cartridge, use the MM INPUT connectors. Connect the ground wire from the turntable to one
of the GND terminals on the back of the preamplifier.
4. If you are using a moving coil cartridge, set the INPUT R control to match the impedance of
your cartridge; if you are using a moving magnet cartridge, set the INPUT C control to match
the combined capacitance of your cartridge and turntable. If you don’t know the correct
setting for your cartridge, consult the documentation supplied with the cartridge, or ask your
dealer for assistance.
5. Connect the OUTPUT connectors on the back of the preamplifier to a pair of line-level inputs
on your line stage preamplifier or power amplifier.
6. Plug the AC cable supplied with the preamplifier into the AC Input socket on the back of the
power supply. Plug the other end of the power cable into an AC power outlet.
