1. General information
The DCD-230 core drilling machine referred to in these operating instructions
has been manufactured using state-of-the-art technology. All components are
subjected to rigorous quality assurance criteria during the manufacturing
process. Our management systems are certified in accordance with ISO 9001.
 These operating instructions contain important information about handling the
DCD-230. Safe operation of the device requires adherence to all safety
instructions and operating guidelines.
 The local accident prevention regulations applicable to the area in which the
DCD-230 is being used should also be adhered to, along with general safety
guidelines.
 The operating instructions are part of the product and must be stored in close
proximity to the DCD-230 where they should be readily accessible to
qualified personnel at all times.
 The qualified personnel must have carefully read and understood the
operating instructions prior to operating the device.
 The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage whatsoever arising
through improper use, failure to comply with these operating instructions,
assignment of inadequately qualified personnel, or unauthorised modification
of the DCD-230.
 The General Terms and Conditions as set out in the sales documentation
shall apply.

2. Safety
WARNING!
Before setup and operation of the device, ensure that it is not
damaged in any way. Failure to comply could result in serious
physical injury and/or material damage.
DANGER!
Risk of death by electrocution
2.1. Intended use
This device is to be used for wet or dry drilling in reinforced concrete and
brickwork.
The DCD-230 has been designed and manufactured exclusively for the
intended purpose outlined in this document, and must therefore only be used
accordingly.
The technical specifications outlined in these operating instructions must be
observed. Improper handling or operation of the DCD-230 not in accordance
with the technical specifications requires immediate shutdown of the device and
inspection by an authorised REFCO service engineer.
The electronic components must be treated with the requisite caution (avoid
exposure to moisture, sudden impacts, strong magnetic fields and extreme
temperatures, and do not insert any items into the device and /or openings).
Protect the plug from contamination.
Any claims whatsoever arising from improper use of the device shall be
excluded.

2.2. Personnel qualifications
WARNING!
Risk of injury through use by unqualified personnel!
Improper handling of the device can lead to serious personal and
material damage.
 The activities described in these operating instructions should
only be carried out by skilled personnel in possession of the
qualifications outlined below.
 Keep unqualified personnel away from hazardous areas.
Skilled personnel
Skilled personnel are workers who, through their specialist training and
operational knowledge of the core drilling machine, are capable of carrying out
the described work and independently identifying potential hazards.
2.3. Special hazards
Protect the machine from wet and damp conditions when in use!

damaged in any way!

4. Structure and function
4.1. Description
The DCD-230 is a sturdy, light and very powerful core drilling machine. The
practical, adjustable shoulder rest makes it easy to work with sufficient pressure.
When wet drilling into concrete, a PRCD safety switch and a built-in safety
clutch ensure safe operation. The case made of tough plastic provides sufficient
space for storing the required tool and the diamond core drill bit.

Scope of delivery should be cross-checked with the delivery note.

5. Transportation, packaging and storage
5.1. Transportation
Inspect the machine for any potential transportation damage. Any obvious
damage should be reported to the vendor immediately.
5.2. Packaging
Retain the original packaging as it provides optimum protection for
transportation of the device (e.g. onward dispatch of the device, sending it for
repair etc.).
5.3. Storage
Permitted storage conditions:
 Storage temperature: -5 to +45 °C
 Humidity: 0 to 90 % relative humidity (no condensation)
Avoid exposure to the following conditions:
 Proximity to hot objects
 Mechanical shock (setting device down too firmly, or dropping it)
 Soot, steam, moisture, dust and corrosive gases

6. Setup, operation
6.1. Setup
DANGER!
Ensure that the operating voltage indicated on the tool identification
plate conforms with the mains voltage prior to connecting the DCD-
230 with the power supply.
1. Ensure that the machine is disconnected and cannot accidentally be
switched on.

6.2. Operation

7. Maintenance, cleaning and repair
7.1. Maintenance
The gear unit must be lubricated at regular intervals using normal machine oil.
Remove the hexagon socket screw using the 5mm Allen key supplied.
The electric motor brushes should be replaced, if necessary.
If the safety clutch has been released and the machine runs without the drill
spindle turning, the clutch must be retightened using the internal stop screw.

The metal components can be cleaned using a lightly oiled cloth.
The plastic motor casing should not come into contact with aggressive cleaning
agents.
7.3. Repair
Repairs should only be carried out by authorised dealers or by the manufacturer.
Otherwise all warranty claims shall be rendered invalid.
8. Return and disposal
8.1. Return
Use the original packaging or other suitable transportation packaging when
returning the DCD-230.
8.2. Disposal
Incorrect disposal of the device can pose a risk to the environment. Device
components and packaging materials should be disposed of in an
environmentally compatible manner in accordance with local waste treatment
and disposal regulations.

1. Allgemeines
Die in der Betriebsanleitung beschriebene Kernlochbohrmaschine DCD-230
wird nach den neuesten Erkenntnissen gefertigt. Alle Komponenten unterliegen
während der Fertigung strengen Qualitätskriterien. Unsere
Managementsysteme sind nach ISO 9001 zertifiziert.
 Diese Betriebsanleitung gibt wichtige Hinweise zum Umgang mit der DCD-
230. Voraussetzung für sicheres Arbeiten ist die Einhaltung aller
angegebenen Sicherheitshinweise und Handlungsanweisungen.
 Die für den Einsatzbereich der DCD-230 geltenden örtlichen
Unfallverhütungsvorschriften und allgemeinen Sicherheitsbestimmungen
einhalten.
 Die Betriebsanleitung ist Produktbestandteil und muss in unmittelbarer Nähe
der DCD-230 für das Fachpersonal jederzeit zugänglich aufbewahrt werden.
 Das Fachpersonal muss die Betriebsanleitung vor Beginn aller Arbeiten
sorgfältig durchgelesen und verstanden haben.
 Die Haftung des Herstellers erlischt bei Schäden durch bestimmungswidrige
Verwendung, Nichtbeachten dieser Betriebsanleitung, Einsatz ungenügend
qualifizierten Fachpersonals sowie eigenmächtiger Veränderung an der
DCD-230.
 Es gelten die allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen in den Verkaufsunterlagen.
 Technische Änderungen vorbehalten.

2. Sicherheit
WARNUNG!
Vor Inbetriebnahme und Betrieb sicherstellen, dass das Gerät keine
Schäden aufweist.
Bei Nichtbeachten können schwere Körperverletzungen und/oder
Sachschäden auftreten.
GEFAHR!
Lebensgefahr durch elektrischen Strom
2.1. Bestimmungsgemässe Verwendung
Dieses Gerät ist für das Nass oder Trockenbohren in Stahlbeton und
Mauerwerk bestimmt.
Der DCD-230 ist ausschliesslich für den hier beschriebenen
bestimmungsgemässen Verwendungszweck konzipiert und konstruiert und darf
nur dementsprechend verwendet werden.
Die technischen Spezifikationen in dieser Betriebsanleitung sind einzuhalten.
Eine unsachgemässe Handhabung oder ein Betreiben der DCD-230 ausserhalb
der technischen Spezifikationen macht die sofortige Stilllegung und Überprüfung
durch einen autorisierten REFCO-Servicemitarbeiter erforderlich.
Den elektronischen Geräteteil mit erforderlicher Sorgfalt behandeln (vor Nässe,
Stössen, starken Magnetfeldern und extremen Temperaturen schützen, keine
Gegenstände in das Gerät bzw. Öffnungen einführen). Stecker vor
Verschmutzung schützen.
Ansprüche jeglicher Art aufgrund von nicht bestimmungsgemässer Verwendung
sind ausgeschlossen.

2.2. Personalqualifikation
WARNUNG!
Verletzungsgefahr bei unzureichender Qualifikation!
Unsachgemässer Umgang kann zu erheblichen Personen- und
Sachschäden führen.
 Die in dieser Betriebsanleitung beschriebenen Tätigkeiten nur
durch Fachpersonal nachfolgend beschriebener Qualifikation
durchführen lassen.
 Unqualifiziertes Personal von den Gefahrenbereichen fernhalten.
Fachpersonal
Das Fachpersonal ist aufgrund seiner fachlichen Ausbildung, seiner
Bedienungskenntnisse der Kernlochbohrmaschine in der Lage, die
beschriebenen Arbeiten auszuführen und mögliche Gefahren selbstständig zu
erkennen.
2.3. Besondere Gefahren
Beim Einsatz, Maschine vor Nässe und Feutigkeit schützen!
Gefahr von schweren Körperverletzungen mit möglicher
Todesfolge!
Bei jeder Art von Beschädigung des Elektrokabels ist der
Betrieb sofort einzustellen!

Vor dem Einsatz ist sicherzustellen, dass der zu bohrende
Bereich frei von Elektro-, Gas- oder Wasserleitungen ist!
