Installation
1. Turn o any associated components prior to connecting the Cantata C50 Amplier. is minimizes the
chance of momentary electrical surges disturbing your system.
2. Set the power switch on the rear of the unit to the OFF position, aach the power cord and connect it to your
electrical outlet. (e OFF position is selected when the “O” symbol on the switch is depressed.)
3. Connect the analog outputs of your source device to your C50 amplier via RCA or XLR interconnects.
4. Connect your speakers to the respective outputs on the rear of the amplier.
5. If you are using the Cantata Music Center, we recommend linking the two devices with the supplied cable.
6. Turn on the rest of your system. It is a good habit to turn the amplier on last, and o rst, to prevent surges
and transients from reaching your loudspeakers.
7. Turn on the main power switch on the rear panel of the Cantata C50 Amplier. (e ON position is selected
when the “I” symbol on the switch is depressed.) e unit will begin in low-power standby mode. Press the
standby buon on either the front panel or the remote control. e unit will take a few seconds to initialize.
Volume level is factory-set to a low level (30), then restores to the previous volume level on exiting standby.
8. Change the input of the amplier to match the desired source (A, B, C, D). If your source device is playing
music and all connections are correct, you should hear music. If not, check connections, power, and input
selections again.
Unpacking
Aer unpacking your Cantata C50 Amplier, inspect it for any shipping damage and contact us immediately if
any is found. Do not plug the unit into any outlet if you discover any shipping damage.
Please keep all packing materials for future transport of your amplier, and please do not detach the foam from
the inside of the shipping crate. e crate is designed for easy reuse should it be needed and is well-tested to en-
sure the safety of the device. Shipping the unit in anything other than its original crate may result in damage that
is not covered by warranty. If you require a replacement crate or other packing materials, please contact Resolu-
tion Audio.
In addition to the unit itself, the following items are also included: mains power cord, Cantata Link cable, re-
mote control, and (2) AAA baeries for the remote control. To install the baeries in the remote control, open
the cover on the back of the remote, insert the baeries in the orientation shown inside the compartment, and
replace the cover.

Cantata Link
e Cantata Link is a cable which connects the Cantata Music Center and Cantata C50 Amplier together
activating several exclusive integration features between the two devices. When using the devices together, we
strongly recommend that the Cantata Link cable be used.
Note: Use only the supplied cable to connect the devices together. If a replacement cable is required, or a
dierent length is needed, please contact your dealer or Resolution Audio.
With the cable in place, the following features are activated:
1. Centralized remote control functions – e Music Center takes over the task of handling remote control com-
mands, allowing the C50 to be placed out of sight if desired.
2. Mute – Mutes speaker-level outputs in the amplier.
3. Display Brightness – Changes display brightness on both devices.
4. Music Center Input – If you have the Cantata Music Center aached to the C50, choosing a dierent music
source on the Music Center can automatically switch the C50 to the input being used for the Music Center. (See
Music Center Input below.)
5. e Cantata Music Center bypasses its internal volume control, seing its output to maximum. Volume
control is handled exclusively by the C50 when the Cantata Link is detected. While changes in volume level are
displayed on both devices, only the output level of the amplier is changed. Note that if the Cantata Link cable is
not present, the remote control will aect volume level in both units.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Use of the Cantata Link will set the Cantata Music Center output to full volume and
shi speaker volume control to the C50 amplier. If you have an additional amplier connected to the Music
Center, this will result in full-volume output being sent to the other amplier.
Music Center Input
To make use of the automatic source-switching function, the amplier must be congured for the input con-
nected to the Music Center. When input sources on the Music Center are selected, the amplier will switch to
the dedicated input automatically.
To set the Music Center Input, press and hold the respective input buon on the front of the amplier for 5 sec-
onds. e source leer on the display converts to upper case indicating that this is now the Music Center Input.
is seing may be changed to a dierent input at any time.
is seing is saved when the unit is placed in standby mode.

1. e output will be muted allowing the circuitry to begin cooling. Releasing mute is prohibited.
2. e display will blink “Hot” to indicate protection has been triggered.
3. Apart from placing the unit into standby mode and dimming the display, no other actions are permied until the unit
has cooled.
Once the amplier has cooled suciently, it will automatically resume operation in a muted state at the previous volume
level. Normal operation may be resumed by exiting mute.
If the unit consistently overheats, consider relocating the unit for beer air circulation or to a cooler environment.
