5. Functions
5.1 Park Kill
Park Kill function disables all the Siren tones when the vehicle is in Park. To activate this
function, connect the wire (Pin 3) to the neutral safety switch of the vehicle transmission. The
function is Ground (negative battery) activated.
5.2 Hands Free Relay
The device contains an internal relay used for Hands Free function. When the Hands Free
function is active, the vehicle horn ring will act as a siren tone selector according to Table 4. The
vehicle’s horn will be deactivated while the siren tones are active. In order to deactivate Hands
Free function, press the Hands Free button on the panel. In case SL3 function is active, the
siren will remain active as well. In order to shut off the sirens and maintain the Hands Free
function, press the horn ring for 1 ½ sec.

5.3 IGNITION Input
To activate the IGNITION INPUT, connect the specific wire to the vehicle’s POS IGNITION or
another external grounded toggle switch. The digital input is activated by a ground signal.
When the IGNITION INPUT is activated, all the outputs are deactivated, including the siren and
the digital and analog outputs. In this case, the IS1100 US will enter a low current consumption
mode. The backlight panel will be deactivated also.
Disable Remote Control.

5.5 LOW BAT Indicator
The LOW BAT indicator LED will be activated in case of the battery voltage reaches a critical
level of +10.8V (safe battery voltage for vehicle’s starting) for more than 20s, the LOW BAT and
all the other functions will be deactivated, and a LED will be lit on the front panel indicating that
the battery level is low (Table 7). It is recommended to start the vehicle then reactivate the
IS1100 US functions.
In emergency situations in which the device needs to continue operating even with the low
voltage level of the battery, you can simply select the desired function in the panel and the
device will operate normally maintaining the low battery LED indicator ON in the panel. This
LED will remain ON until the battery voltage is greater than or equal to +13.3V.

5.6 Radio Input
RADIO 1 and RADIO 2 inputs are connected to the audio outputs of the radio, and amplified
through the siren outputs when the RADIO function is activated in the panel. To adjust the
volume of the siren outputs, you can simply press the volume adjustment buttons (Figure 5).

5.8 GUNLOCK OUTPUT
Gunlock is a function enabled by pressing a button on the front panel of the equipment. When
this function is enabled, the output "Gunlock" (#8 pin connector 2) is activated; it will remain so
for ten seconds and then returned to the deactivated state.
This output should be connected to a Gunlock device.

5.9 Activation of the Second Functions
The “S3” button activates the SL4 (Slide Switch 4) function, which means the user can manually
select the desired Flash Pattern (check the lightbar´s manual selection description) and activate
it once the “S3” button is pressed.
Pressing and holding the “S3” or the “Radio” buttons activate their second functions. In order to
activate them, their primary functions have to be inactive –this is a must. Either way, turning
back to their primary functions also need their second functions to be inactive.
The second function for the “S3” button activates the Siren´s WAIL Tone and also the Hands-
Free function. The second function for the “Radio” button activates the lightbar´s Dimmer. The
dimming only enters the active mode if the lightbar is connected in digital mode control.
Note that any Siren tone has higher priority over the Radio audio, so if you activate any of the
possible Siren tones with the Radio audio turned on, it will immediately cut the Radio audio and
produce the selected Siren tone until you stop it. Once you stop the Siren tone, the Radio audio
will NOT be activated automatically. You must turn it on again after turning off the Siren tone.
The same occurs with the second functions, like the dimmer and Hands Free. Once you have
activated one of these functions, any further generated Siren tone will quit them and wait until
you stop the Siren tone and then, if you want, activate again the previous active second function
of the buttons.
6. Mounting
The Remote Control can be mounted on the dashboard of the vehicle using a FACE PLATE or
U shaped support bracket.
