•BecomefamiliarwiththeOwner'sManual before
attemptingtooperatethisequipment.
•Donotallowchildren tooperatethisequipment.
•Donotoperatethisequipment inthevicinityof
bystanders.
•Carbondioxidecan beextremelydangerous in
enclosed areas; donot run themachineinan
enclosed area sincetheexhaustfromtheengine
contains carbonmonoxide,which iscolourless,
odourless, and tasteless.
•Donotplacehands or any otherpart of thebodyor
allowclothinginsidethefeedingchamber, discharge
chute,or near any moving part.
•Beforeinspecting or servicingany part orthe
machine,shutoff thepower supply,disconnect the
powercordor disconnect the sparkplugleadfrom
thesparkplug,andmakesurethatall movingparts
havecometoacompletestop.
Preparation
•Obtainand wearsafetyglasses andgloves at all
times whileoperating themachine.
•Avoidwearing loosefittingclothing. Operatethe
machineonlyon alevelsurface.
•Donotoperatethemachineon apaved orgravel
surface. Thrownobjectscouldcauseinjury.
•Beforestartingthemachine, check thatall screws,
nuts, bolts,andother fastenersareproperly
secured.Replacedamagedorunreadable warning
andoperator labels.
•Useextracareinhandlingpetrol andother fuels.
They areflammableandvapoursareexplosive.
a. Useonlyan approved container.
b. Neverremovefuel cap oraddfuelwiththe
enginerunning.Allowenginetocoolbefore
refuelling.Donotsmoke.
c. Neverrefuel themachineindoors.
d. Neverstorethemachineor fuel container inside
wherethereisanopen flame,such as agas
waterheater.
Operation
•Beforestartingthemachine, makecertainthat the
cutting chamber isempty.
•Whenfeeding shreddablematerialintothe
equipment beextremelycarefulthat piecesofmetal,
rocks,bottles,cans orotherforeign objectsarenot
included.
•If thecuttingmechanismstrikesany foreign objects
orifthemachineshouldmakeanyunusualnoise
orvibration,immediatelyswitchofftheengineand
allowthemachinetostop.Disconnectthespark
plug wirefromthesparkplugorremovepower
cordfrompowersupplyand takethefollowing
steps.
a. Inspect fordamage
b. Replaceor repairanydamaged parts.
c. Checkforand tighten any looseparts.
Donotattempt torepair themachineunless youare
competent todoso.
•Keeptheengineclean of debrisandother
accumulations toprevent damagetotheengineor
possiblefire.
•Donotallowprocessed material tobuildupinthe
dischargearea.Thismay prevent properdischarge
andcan result inkickbackof material throughthe
feedopening.
•Keepall guardsand deflectorsinplaceandingood
workingcondition.
•Alwaysstandclear of thedischargearea when
operating thismachine.
•Keepyour faceand body awayfromthefeed
opening.
•Donotoverreach.Keepproperbalanceandfooting
at all times.
•Donottamperwiththeenginegovernor settingson
petrolengines; thegovernor controlsthemaximum
safeoperatingspeedand protectstheengineandall
movingpartsfromdamagecaused by over speed.
Seekauthorised serviceif aproblem exists.
•Donottransport thismachinewhiletheengineis
running.
•If themachinebecomes clogged, switch-off the
engineand disconnect thespark plug leador
removethepower lead frompower supply,before
cleaningdebrisaway.
•Switch-off theunit beforeattaching or removingthe
mulch bag.
Maintenance
•When thisequipmentisstopped forservicing,in-
spection,orstorage,ortochangeanaccessory,
makesurethesparkplug lead isdisconnectedfrom
thesparkplug,orthepowercordisremovedfrom
powersupply.Allowthemachinetocoolbefore
making any inspections,adjustments,etc.Maintain
themachinewithcareand keep it clean.
•Storethemachineoutofthereachofchildrenand
wherepetrol vapourswillnotreach an openflameor
spark.Forextendedstorageperiods, runtheunit dry
offuel.Always allowthemachinetocoolbefore
storing.
