AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition)
This player can play back AVCHD format discs. These discs are normally recorded and used
in camcorders.
The AVCHD format is a high definition digital video camera format.
The MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format compresses images with greater efficiency than the
conventional image compressing format.
Some AVCHD discs use the "x.v.Color" format. This player can play back AVCHD discs that
use "x.v.Color" format.
"x.v.Color" is a trademark of Sony Corporation.
"AVCHD" and the AVCHD logo are trademarks of Matsushita Electronic Industrial Co., Ltd.
and Sony Corporation.
• Limitations
- Even when a the file is encoded by a supported codec mentioned above, the file might not
be played if its content has a probbm.
- Normal playback is not guaranteed if the file's container information is wrong or the fib
itself is corrupted.
Files having higher Bitrate/frame rate than standard may stutter during sound/video playback.
- The Seek (skip) function is not avaflabb if the file's index table is damaged.

Connecting to a TV with an HDMI Cable
1. Using an HDMI cable, connect the HDMI OUT terminal on the rear of the player to the
HDMI IN terminal of your T_4See page 8.
2. Turn on the player and T_
3. Press the input selector on your TV remote control until the HDMI signal from the player
appears on your TV screen.
4. If this is the first thne you have turned on the Blu-ray player, the InitialSettings screen

Connecting to an Audio System (HDMI supported AV receiver)
1. Using an HDMI cable, connect the HDMI OUT terminal on the rearof the player to the
HDMI IN terminal of your AV receiver. See page 8.
2. Using an HDMI cable, connect the HDMI OUT terminal of the AV receiver to the HDMI IN
terminal of your T_4
3. Turn on the player,_ and AV receiver.
4. Using the input select button of the AV receiver and T_, select the correct HDMI input or
source on each to hear sound and see video from the player. Refer to your AV receiver's
user manual to set the AV receiver's audio input.
5. Ifthis is the first time you have turned on the BD-ray player,the Initial Settings screen
appears. See page 8.
This player lets you use network based services, such as BD-LIVE, and download software
upgrades when 't is connected to a network. We recommend using a Broadband modem (with
integrated router)or an IP router for the connection. Formore information on router connections,
refer to the user manual of the router or contact the router manufacturer for technical assistance.

- and most are -we recommend using the

Manual Network Setup
Ifthe Auto Setting does not work, you need
to enter the Network settng values manually.
Before you start manual network setup, you
need the network setting values.
To get the Network setting values, contact
your ISP or your network administrator.
To Enter the Network settings into your player,
follow these steps:
1. On the Internet Protocol Setup screen,
press the [] button.
2. Press the AT buttons to select Manual,
and then press the [] button.
3. Press the T button to go to the first
entry field (IPAddress).
4. Use the number buttons to enter
numbers.
5. When donewith eachfield, use the I_ button
to move successivelyto the nextfield.
You can also use the other arrow
buttons to move up, down, and back.
6. Enter the mPAddress, Subnet Mask,
and Gateway values.
7. Press the T to go to DNS.
8. Press the T button to go to the first
DNS entry field. Enter the numbers as
above.
9. When done, press the • button to return
to Access Point Selection. Select the
network, and then press the [] button.
WPS(PBC) function
The easiest way to set up the wireless
network connection is using the WPS(PBC)
function.
Ifyour wireless router has a WPS(PBC)
button, follow these steps:
1. In the Network Settings menu, press the
,&T buttons to select Network Setting,
and then press the [] button.
The Internet Protocol Setup screen
appears.
2. Press the RED (A) button on the remote
control.
3. Press the WPS(PBC) button on your
router within two minutes. Your player
displays the Network Selection Screen,
and automatically acquires allthe
network setting values it needs and
connects to your network. When it is
done, it displays an OK button. Press
the [] button on your remote.
4. After the network connection is set up,
press the RETURN button to exit the
Network Setting screen.

Once the player is connected to the network,
you can enjoy various movie-related service

memory device must have at least 1GB
of free space to accommodate the BD-
LIVE services.

any additional software.

disc playback simply by pressing the PLAY

time, the PIN screen appears. Enter the
default PIN - 0000 - using the number
buttons. Tochange the PIN, use the Change

enter that four digit PiN. ifyou don't change
the PIN, continue using the default PIN.
BD Parental Rating
Prevent playback of BD-ray Discs with specific
age ratings unless the 4 digit PiN is entered.
DVD Parental Rating
This function works in conjunction with DVDs
that havebeen assigned an age ratingor
numeric rating that indicates the maturity level
of the content. These numbers helpyou control
the types of DVDs that your family can watch.
Select the rating level you want to set.
For example, ifyou select Level 6, discs rated
above 6 - Level 7 and 8 - will not play.
A larger number indicates more mature content.
CinemaNow Lock
Restrict the use of the CinemaNow service
unless the 4 digit PIN is entered
Netflix Lock
Restrict the use of the Netfiix service unless
the 4 digit PIN is entered.
VUDU Lock
Restrict the use of the VUDU service unless
the 4 digit PIN is entered.
Pandora Lock
Restrict the use of the Pandora service unless
the 4 digit PIN is entered.
YouTube Lock
Restrict the use of the YouTube service unless

Change PIN
CtTangethe 4-digit password used to access

Tochange the PIN, follow these steps:
1. Select Change PIN, and then press the
r_ button. The Enter old PiN screen
appears.
2. Enter the old PiN. If you never changed
the PIN, enter the default PIN: 0000.
The Enter new PIN screen appears.
3. Enter the new PIN in the Enter new PIN
fields.
4. Re-enter the new PIN in the Confirm
new PiN fields. The "PIN is changed
successfully." message appears.

If you forgot your password
1. Remove any discs.
2. Press and hold the [] button on the
front panel for 5 seconds or more.

Discs other than those listed above cannot be and are not intended to be played by this
player. Some of the discs listed above may not play due to one or more reasons provided

Samsung cannot assure that this player will play every disc bearing the BD-ROM, BD-RE/-R,
DVD-VDEO, DVD-RW/-R, DVD+RW/+R and CD-RW/-R Iogos, and this player may not
respond to alloperating commands or operate allfeatures of every disc. These and other
disc compatibility and player operation issues with new and existing format discs are
