Make sure that you have fully understood this safety information before proceeding, failure to
follow the instructions listed below may result in electric shock, re, product damage and/or
serious personal injury.
A battery will slowly lose its charge when kept out of the battery charger. If the battery has not been
kept on maintenance charge, it may need to be recharged before use. A battery may also slowly lose
its charge if left in a battery charger that is not plugged into an appropriate electrical source.
• Use only batteries and battery chargers manufactured by Scanreco for the specic product, usage
of batteries or battery chargers manufactured by other may cause product damage and will void warranty.
• Always conrm product authenticity thru your local supplier before purchasing a Scanreco battery!
• Do not expose the battery charger to rain or snow.
• Do not charge batteries in an environment deemed hazardous.
• Do not charge the battery cassette in an air temperature below +4.5°C (+40°F),
or above +40.5°C (+105°F). This is important and will prevent serious damage to the battery.
• Do not short circuit the exposed charging contacts inside the charger.
• Foreign materials of a conductive nature such as, but not limited to, steel wool, aluminum foil,
or any buildup of metallic particles should at all times be kept away from battery charger cavities.
• Always unplug charger before attempting to clean.
• Only clean using a dry cloth.
• Do not immerse the battery charger in water or any other liquid.
• Longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery is charged when the air temperature
is between 18°C and 24°C (65°-75°F).
• The charger and battery may become warm to touch while charging. This is a normal condition,
and does not indicate a problem.
• The battery cassette may be left in the battery charger for a longer period of time; the battery charger
will keep the battery fresh and fully charged.
• Never attempt to use a battery cassette that is damaged, leaking, swollen or corroded.
• Never short circuit battery terminals.
• Always insert batteries correctly with regards to polarity (+ and -).
• Always keep batteries out of reach of children.
• Remove battery if the Portable Control Unit will not be used for an extended period of time
(longer than one month).
• Avoid usage of battery / battery charger outside of the specied ambient temperature.
